Third Person POV
Eric was finished helping the Beta with what he could and was sent to the dungeon by the Alpha saying that they were about to start interrogating Alica and if he wanted to sever his bond he would have to do it now. So here he was standing at the door of the interrogation room that they were in, debating if he should do this or not. He knows that she will never choose him, and now that she was a traitor she was likely going to be sentenced to death. He really didn’t want to feel the death of his mate. It was bad enough from all the times of her betrayal.
Before Eric could make a final decision the door was opening and he watched as the guards came out. He couldn’t help but overhear what the guards had whispered to each other. No doubt trying to make sure that the leaders in the room didn’t overhear what they were saying. It is a good thing too because if Ethan or Alexi heard what these morons were saying they would probably be demoted and have a month of extra hard training.
“I know the future Luna is a powerful Lycan and all, but she is a little too bossy. She is a Luna, not the Alpha. She shouldn’t even be in the dungeons. This is no place for a woman.” One of the guards Isaac said.
“I know man. I don’t know how Alpha Ethan can handle that. I would have to teach my mate that I was the one in charge and not her. There is a time and a place for a woman to be in charge and in matters such as this is not one.” Adam said.
Eric smirked knowing he can get a slight bit of revenge on the asshole for sleeping with his mate even after he knew she was his. He cleared his throat causing the men to jump in fright. Eric said, “If I were you two gentlemen I would rethink your thoughts on women. Also our future Luna may be a powerful Lycan, but she is so much more than that. She is the mother of our pack and you two morons are over here badmouthing her because she shows that she has brains and the stomach to be able to handle an interrogation. We should be thankful and honored that our future Luna is well versed in how to help run some parts of the pack. Now I won’t interrupt the future Alpha with this. I will however be informing Alpha Arthur of your ideals of our Alpha’s mate and daughter in law, and what you feel she should or should not be doing.”
Adam winced knowing exactly what running his mouth to try and fit in was going to cost him. He just finished off his last punishment for Alpha catching him f**k that she wolf while I was supposed to be on duty. The future Beta thinks that he was the only to catch me f*****g his mate. Unfortunately for me the Alpha had caught me just about a month ago. Adam knew he shouldn’t have kept going back to that stretched out snatch, but the opportunity to stick it to the future Beta was a plus in his book. When the Beta had caught him with his mate Adam was shocked. It was the first time he had been approached by Alicia. He knew why now. Every other man in the pack has already had a piece of that and it shows. If it wasn’t for the Beta being her mate Adam would never have gone back for more.
Isaac was not all that worried. He was an older wolf so he was confident that his Alpha would agree with him and that this arrogant young pup is just too lost in these new ideals about women being equal and such nonsense. Issac was positive that allowing women to have more freedoms is what has caused the world to go crazy getting rid of statues and being offended by how the wind blew. These young pups don’t know how the good life was back in his younger years. Having your mate at home with the pups taking care of the house. You knew you always had a hot meal waiting for you after a hard day’s work.
Eric watched as both men had different reactions. He already knew that Isaac would think that just because the Alpha was closer to his age that he wouldn’t disagree with him. Eric laughed knowing damn well how much the Alpha feels his mate is the brains behind the pack. Too bad he couldn’t be a fly on the wall with that conversation taking place just to see the old timers reaction.
“Yes Beta.” Both men said in unison before baring their necks and leaving on their way.
Eric took a deep breath figuring since the door had already opened that he should go on in. As Eric stepped in he heard the last of Alexi saying for them to get started. Ethan turned to see who walked in and he gave Eric a nod. Ethan internally grimaced. How was Eric going to handle knowing that his mate was pregnant with another man’s baby. He would be devastated, Ethan knew that.
Beth was worried about Eric being there for this part, but she also knew that he deserved to know because seeing as he is still technically her mate he has a choice to make. He can choose to keep his mate’s child or he can opt to have it adopted out unless the biological father can be notified and will take responsibility for the pup. It is a sucky situation for him, but that is how wolf law goes.
“Alicia, you have been charged with treason, attempted murder of your future Alpha and the Future Alpha’s mate, and finally been charged with going against the terms of your probationary period for the prior offense of attacking the future Luna. The punishment for such is death. Do you have anything to say to plead your case?” Ethan asked.
“You can go to hell. I didn’t try to kill you. I was only after your mate. That b***h needs to just die. I can’t believe that you chose her over ANYONE else. She is nothing but a human turned wolf. She isn’t as strong as a born wolf. She is going to kill this pack and you along with her. Why can’t anyone else see that?” Alica spat with so much venom.
Alicia was so tired of trying to explain her reasons. She thought they were quite obvious really. This human turned wolf isn’t even a real shifter. She is a wannabe. It is disgraceful to have her as a leader of this pack. She or her sister Ashley should be the Luna of this pack. At least they were purebred wolves unlike this mutt. Alicia finally noticed that her pathetic excuse for a mate was here as well.
Just great. She did not want to have to deal with that sappy bastard. Though she is surprised that he hadn’t accepted her rejection yet. Even after sleeping with countless other men. He could take pain. She at least gave him that much credit. He was still below her. A stupid omega was not good enough for her. She deserved a Beta at the least. “Why is he here? Finally going to be a man and accept the rejection. I will say I am honestly surprised that you haven’t just killed yourself yet. I mean an omega handling the amount of pain you have is a miracle. Especially with as many times as I betrayed you.” Alicia said with a smirk. Knowing that that last little barb got to him by the grimace on his face and the slight wince Eric made.
Ethan was going to correct Alicia, but Beth had stopped him. She had seen from Eric’s mind that he was going to tell her after he accepted her rejection. Beth agreed that it was fitting to tell Alicia afterwards. She can only imagine the look on Alicia’s face when she learns that she had in fact actually been blessed with a Beta for a mate.
Beth decided to take a seat and show Alicia that she isn’t intimidated by her in the least. Harmony was near the surface watching and ready to come forward if needed. “Alicia, I am not going to ask you why you betrayed your pack. I already know the answer to that. What I would like to know is where is Baxter hiding? How many members does he have in his rogue pack? Who is his second in command? What are his plans?” Beth asked. While she was asking her questions Beth was searching through Alicia’s mind for the answers. Each question she asked he found the answer as Alicia’s thoughts jumped to each answer for just a moment.
“Why would I tell you anything? You are just going to kill me anyway, so why bother answering your questions.” Alicia said snidely.
Beth was disappointed that the location of Baxter’s lair was still hidden from them as well as how many members he has. There is a blank spot in the memories. Just like the witch. Alicia didn’t have the answers to their questions. Well at least not about Baxter and the sect. This is the part that Beth wasn’t looking forward to, but she had to ask for the child’s sake.” Alicia did you know that you are pregnant?”
The look of shock on Alicia’s face was evidence enough that she did not know about the pregnancy. Eric was shocked and devastated at the same time. What should have been one of the happiest days of his life was the worst by knowing that he wasn’t the father of his mate’s pup.
Beth asked another question figuring she didn’t need that verbal answer to the previous one anymore, “Who is the father? We need to notify them because of your situation.”
“I…I don’t…I don’t know. There… There were… There were too many.” Alicia said before she started to sob. She was regretting sleeping with all those men now.
She never wanted to have children. They were dirty and nasty and loud. She was devastated. She wanted this abomination out of her. Before she could even start to claw at her stomach to rip the creature out of her she became paralyzed. She tried to move any part of her body, and the only thing that she could move were her eyes and mouth.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you. That child is no longer yours to decide anything upon. You forfeited that right the moment you chose to commit treason therefore forfeiting your life. Dead people don’t get to have any choices, Alicia.” Ethan said.
