                    Third POV
The moment Ethan gets the mindlink that Beth was awake ran to their bedroom with Alexi on his heels. They rushed in and in their haste pushed Jessica out of the way. Luckily someone was behind her to catch her before she could fall.” Jeeze guys. All you had to do was ask and I would have moved. Beth you need to tame your mates. They apparently forgot how to behave around civilized people while you took your few hour nap.” Jessica said.
“Sorry Jess, but until you watch your mate die and then come back to life only to pass out for hours afterward I don’t want to hear you complain about our behavior.” Ethan said in a sharp tone as he sat down on the left side of Beth while Alexi sat on her right.
Beth smacks him in his chest and admonishes him, “Be nice to your sister. She’s pregnant and you could have seriously hurt her and our niece or nephew.”
Ethan’s face morphed into horror as he realized that Beth was right. He could have hurt his niece or nephew and didn’t even think about it. “I’m sorry Jess. I forgot about you being pregnant in the rush to see my mate. Forgive me?” Ethan asks.
“I’ll forgive you if you give me your desserts for the next few months.” Jess said with a wistful look on her face thinking about all the extra desserts she will be getting.
“What are we five Jess? Fine, you can have my desserts for two months.” Ethan said while thinking to himself that he can just go grab more from the kitchen which Jess could have easily done.
“I swear those two will never change.” Martha said as she entered the room carrying Esmerelda with Timberlink rushing in the room to his mom.
“Mamma. I saw you in the cave. You sent those bad people away, but where did you go? Why didn’t you stay with us?” Timberlink asks. He was genuinely curious why she disappeared like that.
“You saw me, baby?” Beth asked. Timberlink nodded his head to affirm he had seen her in the cave. “Well that is a long story baby. Come sit down and I will tell everyone about it.” Beth waited for a minute while everyone else gathered into the small room. It was a little crowded, but everyone wanted to know what had happened with Beth in the battlefield.
“You also have to explain why the hell that barrier was so strong. It knocked me right on my ass when I just tried to look deeper into it.” Sandra said. She was still a little sore spirited about that.
“Sorry about that. I had a little help from Esmerelda. Before the battle the vision she shared with me showed me what would have to happen. I knew that I had to sacrifice myself in order for Baxter to be destroyed once and for all. What I didn’t know was that I was going to come back to life.” Beth paused for a minute to let that sink in for everyone. “When Baxter stabbed me and I died. I didn’t really die. I was in the spirit world where I was met with Zeus and Hades along with my father. Mom, you will like this part. Dad was sentenced to being Cerberus’ chew toy for a while.” Erica couldn’t help but laugh at that. Served the bastard right.
“Yeah, that was my thoughts too. Anyway Zeus said that I was in a healing sleep. While I was pregnant Ares was feeding me blood. Well what we didn’t know was that it was gods’ blood, and because of that I had enough of their blood in my system to keep me alive. As I was making my way back to my body I heard Timberlink scream for help. When I reached him there were dark spirits siphoning Esmerelda’s magic. I was able to stop them and by doing so I was transported to the past in my spirit form. This is the important part though.” Beth stopped and looked at everyone who had varying looks of confusion.
She started up her story again and said, “I met a witch, Morganna. She looked exactly like me. She told me that we needed to get Esmerelda far away from here. Those spirits were just the start. There is a great evil after our baby girl. She was called the heart of the fallen. They think with her they can control whoever this fallen is. We have to protect her.” Beth finished her story.
“Morganna?! Beth the cottage we were in. That was hers. You actually met her? What was she like?” Sandra basically fangirled out on me.
“Where will we go? Our home is here Beth.” Ethan said.
“Actually, our home is in the lycan kingdom. Beth is their queen and we are their kings.” Alexi said. “It is also far enough away from this threat that I assume it is this cave system?”
“Not exactly the cave system, but the dark spirits that gravitate there because of the sacrificial magic that was used.” Beth said.
“That settles it then. In the morning we will move to the Vampire kingdom until our palace is finished. If we need to keep our pup away from here because of that cave system we will, at least until we can figure out how to cleanse the site.” Ethan said. “Besides, if I need to come back here for anything I have a talented mate that could portal me here in seconds.
“Are the other pups safe or are they in danger here too?” Arthur asked. He was not only curious if this new threat was just a threat to Esmerelda or all the triplets, and also a little curious as to if the future heir to the pack would ever be able to even be safe in the pack he was supposed to protect.
“It only seemed to me as if Morganna was talking just about Esmerelda. I think Ares and Dimitri are safe here. Ethan has a good idea. I can research more magic books in the vampire kingdom to be able to maybe find a way to cleanse the sacrificial magic from the cave system. Allowing this to be a safe place for all again. We just can’t risk Esmerelda.” Beth said. She felt guilty because this was their home too, but until the threat can be taken care of they won’t all be able to come back here.
“It’s ok sweetheart. We understand. We want you all to be safe. Your palace isn’t very far away and we can visit all the time. We will make it all ok.” Martha said, trying to comfort the guilt she could feel coming from Beth.
As everyone digested the information of the new threat some unknown source poses to their family Fate was watching from the shadows. As she filters through the future that these decisions are creating she can’t see the final outcome on any of the events. This was the first time she didn’t know the exact outcome. She wasn’t sure if that was because the future is still unknown because there aren’t enough decisions made or if she is involved with the future causing it to be skewed. Only one way to find out.
