The Unknown Lycan Princess - Chapter 16: Chapter 16

Harmony is laughing her wolfy butt off in my head. I can see her now in my mind’s eye. She is rolling around on a grassy patch with all four paws in the air. Go ahead and laugh it up you fleabag.” I said to her, that stops her laughing and she playfully growls at me. “You do realize you called yourself a fleabag right? We are one in the same, you silly girl.” Harmony says with a chuckle. “Yeah yeah. I get it. I don’t know where Ethan is. He was here when I laid down. Maybe he is with his dad in the office.” I say.
Harmony nods her agreement and we head off to search for our mate after we take care of some personal business in the bathroom and freshen up a bit. No need to go out there looking like I had a bird nesting on my head. I hear Harmony chuckle at my thought. “So Harmony, how are we going to find Ethan? Can you sniff him out or something?” I ask her.
“That is an excellent idea. We can work on our tracking skills. This can be fun Beth.” Harmony excitedly replies to me while wagging her tail at hyper speed. I guess she likes that idea. I take a sniff and follow Ethan’s scent. We pass by Arthur’s office and I can see his door is open and he is still sitting at his desk. I notice Ethan isn’t there and Arthur is so engrossed in what he is doing that he didn’t even notice me. I keep following the scent and suddenly I feel a slight pain in my chest and then an overwhelming anger flows through me.
“Harmony. What is that? What is wrong, why are we so angry?” I ask while grabbing my chest. The pain was there and gone in less than a few seconds but the residual effect is still lingering. “That is not our anger. Well not all of it. Most of it is mates. That was the pain of betrayal, but it stopped so quickly that it was probably a slutty she-wolf who was throwing themselves at mate. We need to hurry before something else happens to mate.” Harmony growls in my mind.
We take off running still following Ethan’s scent. We finally find him in the library and what we see makes our blood boil. It’s Ashley and she is trying to clutch on to Ethan as he deftly dodges out of her grasp every time. I let out a loud growl and both of them stop in their tracks and turn to look at me. Ethan smiles and takes this moment to come over to me while Ashley is still in a state of shock from hearing me, a human, growl like that. He wraps his arms around me and kisses me on the temple.
“Love, did you and our pups enjoy your nap?” Ethan asks. I give him a small smile and nod.
“What exactly is going on here Ethan? I was asleep and you weren’t there when I woke up. Then I felt this pain in my chest. “I ask him to see if he will tell me if what Harmony concluded happened or not. The way things looked when I walked in confirmed it for me, but I want to hear him say it too before I do anything. I saw him flinch when I said I felt the pain and then he turned and growled at Ashley. Who seems to have a smug look on her face.
“This pathetic excuse for a she-wolf threw herself at me while I was in here looking for something. She kissed me and I pushed her away as soon as I realized what was happening. Are you and the pups ok baby? Do we need to have Marcy check you out?” Ethan said.
“No. We are fine. Harmony doesn’t appreciate you smelling of another she-wolf though so we will be discussing that,” I say to him. I turn to Ashley to see her still standing there like she won a big prize. “Don’t you look too smug over there. Ethan. I know wolves are very protective of their mates. I am sure there are laws about trying to interfere in the bond of mates?” I turn to Ethan with a sweet smile. His answering smirk is all the answer I need that I was right.
“Yes there are several, and if I recall there are severe punishments for what she has just done. I think a night or two in the cells is a perfect way to remind her. Don’t you baby?” Ethan asks me while I see two guards coming in to grab Ashley.” Take her to the cells. She is to be given food and water but nothing more. She is to be there for 2 days for trying to interfere with my mate bond with your future luna.” Ethan tells the guards. They both nod to affirm they know their orders. They grab Ashely roughly to lead her out the doors.
“You can’t do this to me. Do you know who my father is? He will not be happy with you. I will be out of these cells before nightfall. Ethan, how can you do this to me? I thought you loved me. She isn’t even a wolf. She’s just a pathetic human.” She screams as she is taken out of sight.
Ethan brings me into his arms and puts his nose into my neck and takes a few deep breaths of my scent to calm himself down.
“So you had a great sleep baby?” Ethan asks me.
“Yes, but we need to go talk about what just happened. I am not happy that these women keep throwing themselves at you.” I say to him and start walking out of the library and back to our room. Once the door shuts I turn around and Ethan is right there behind me. I stare up into his eyes and my anger melts slightly.
It doesn’t help with Harmony panting in my head about how hot Ethan was sending Ashley to the dungeon for a couple days to reflect on her actions. I know it won’t help her any but we can hope it does. I go to sit on the bed and look at Ethan and say, “Well, exactly what all happened from the time I laid down until I found you in the library with Ashley all over you.”
I see Ethan slump down into a chair and take a deep breath in and let it out.
“So here is what happened…”
