The Unknown Lycan Princess - Chapter 18: Chapter 18

“So Duncan. It looks like you have found quite a bit of information.” My father says.
“Yes Alpha, I have. This family has many different kinds of supernatural beings in its line. I was able to track it back about 1500 years ago. The first name is a man named Tyr and a daughter named Olympia. No mother is mentioned. The odd thing is that there are only female descendents. No male child is born into this family that I have seen. Though there are very powerful names in the Supernatural community involved in this family line.” Duncan says.
“What powerful names, Duncan?” I ask.
“Well one that I think you will be most interested in is the most recent family, and by recent I mean in the last 150 years. Petrova ring a bell to anyone?” Duncan says as if he didn’t just drop the biggest bomb onto our laps. The Pterova’s are a clan of vampires. The oldest clan to be exact. They rule over all the vampires and witches.
“Which Petrova Duncan? This could be important.” My father says.
“Roman.” Duncan replies.
“Are you sure Duncan? If you are, this needs to be handled delicately. We can’t do or say anything to ANYONE until we can verify this information without a shadow of a doubt. The disappearance of Roman’s beloved has been a catalyst for many interracial disputes in the supernatural community. I don’t want us to be on the receiving end of their wrath.” My father says.
“What are you guys talking about? Who is Roman Petrova?” I interrupt them. I haven’t heard anything about this before. My father looks at me and says, “Roman Petrova was the crowned prince of the Vampires and witches 200 years ago. He was set to take the throne as soon as he found his beloved. Around 150 years ago Roman found his beloved in a human woman. Her name was Esmerelda Richards.”
“Who is your mate’s 3rd great grandmother.” Duncan interrupts my father. My father has the look of shock on his face and I am sure it mirrors my own.
“How is that possible that you found that information out and the Petrova’s have not figured it out Duncan.” My father asks.
“Well it wasn’t easy at first. I had to hack into some places I probably shouldn’t even tell you about. If it wasn’t for the enchanted advanced search program my mate created for me we wouldn’t have found this information. Seems that Esmerelda changed her name to Esme and had a daughter named Riana shortly after. Back in those days the records were shady at best and we were lucky that there was any record of it at all. The building the records were stored in was burnt to the ground about 20 years ago. They were just starting to digitize their records and the transcript of the court dockets and the birth certificate of Riana just so happened to be some of the first ones done.” Duncan says with a hint of pride in himself. Rightly so too considering all he has come up with in a short amount of time.
“Okay. We’ll table that for the moment. They had already mated and marked and decided to wait a few months before they took the throne to enjoy time with each other before taking on the ruling of the kingdom. It was on their coronation day that Esmerelda disappeared. They had just found out that she was pregnant. It is said that they were the happiest couple when they found out and celebrated for an entire week. So when Esmerelda disappeared they knew it had to be foul play. Roman suspected the wolves because an Alpha had set his sights on Esmerelda and was bitter about Esmerelda choosing Roman over him. However there were several people in his own family that didn’t approve of Esmerelda being human regardless if she went through the change or not because she wasn’t a pure vampire. Many battles arose from her disappearance. It wasn’t until about 50 years ago when Roman sat down with my father and grandfather along with leaders of the other races to stop the attacks between the vampires and other species. We formed a sort of truce where we all stay out of each other’s territories and all fights will be stopped. Any information found about Esmerelda and her child is to be delivered to the Petrova’s and Elders as soon as possible. The council of Elders was formed with Elders from all species. All disputes between the races are to be brought to them. Roman has never taken another beloved in all this time and has no other heirs. If Beth is indeed the grandchild of Esmerelda then she is the next heir to the vampire and witch kingdom. That being said if she is and they find out before we tell them then they will consider it an act of war and therefore void out the treaty. It could cause a massive war that could be the end of the supernatural species.” My father says.
“I will triple check all the information I have Alpha and bring it back to you by morning. I will also look more into the disappearance of Esmerelda and see if I can find anything else out about that. If there is anything to find, this program will do it.” Duncan says as he stands and leaves the office.
“Ethan. I need you to go to the library and get me a few books while I do a little more digging. Beth should be waking soon for dinner, and I know you want to get back to her.” My dad says as he hands me a piece of paper with the book names on it that he needs.
I nod and take the paper and head to the library. I smell that someone else is in the room as I grab the last book my father needed. When I place the last book on the stack Ashley comes up to me and before I know what is happening her lips are on mine and I push her off in seconds. “What the hell Ashley. You know I have a mate.” I growl out at her.
She comes over to me and tries to place her hands on my chest and I keep pushing them away. “Come on Ethan. You and I both know that human slut is not worthy to be the Luna of this pack, and those pups she is carrying are not yours. You didn’t even know her before the other day at school. I was meant to be your Luna not her.” Ashley says. What she said pisses me and Dex off, but before I can say anything to her we hear a loud growl and turn to see Beth standing in the doorway, her eyes glowing purple a moment before turning back to her original color.
End of Flashback
I look up to Beth and she looks to be lost in thought. “Beth baby I’m sorry. Please talk to me.” I plead with her. She shakes her head and then smiles at me.
She stands and opens her arms to me and I don’t waste a moment before I engulf her in my embrace. “You have nothing to be sorry for Ethan.
You didn’t actively seek Ashley out to kiss her. You didn’t kiss her willingly. I believe you and trust you. I was just thinking about the conversation in your father’s office. I had a visit from a god too during my nap.” She says. She explains what happened in her dream and Harmony comes to the surface to say hello.
“I am so glad you believed me. I never want you to be in pain and especially not because of me. You are the single most important person in my life and I would rather die than have you hurt in any way.
Are you ready for dinner baby?” I say. She nods and we head to the dining room. I am so thankful she believed me. I meant every word I said to her. She and our pups are my world and I would lay my life down for them.
