The Unknown Lycan Princess - Chapter 26: Chapter 26

“Ethan, we would have to do some research, but it is unlikely that we will find anything out about it. There hasn’t been a Lycan around in over a thousand years.” Alpha Arthur said.
“What do you mean a Lycan? They are extinct!” Dimitri said.
“They may have been extinct, but Beth is most assuredly a Lycan. She had her first shift two nights ago. She is why we came up with all of this information. The Moon Goddess didn’t give us much time to figure out the information we needed to help Beth with the change. We decided to start by looking into both sides of her family. Not much was found on the father’s side but her mother Erica’s side is what gave us the information to contact you, King Roman.” Arthur said.
“This must be what the goddess warned me about that night. She said whatever decision I make will be the deciding factor on you and our daughter’s destiny. As much as this pains me baby, it looks like I am going to have to share you as long as you are ok with it. I will stand with you no matter what you choose to do. This is your destiny Beth you have a say in what happens.” The boy beside Beth said.
“If it is a choice between being with you and having to share you or not being with you I would choose to share. I have waited my whole life for my beloved and I won’t let some silly thing such as multiple partners be a problem if that is what the gods have decided.” Alexi said with conviction.
I stood there watching the exchange but something was keeping me glued to this Beth girl. She reminds me so much of my Esmerelda. The only difference is her hair color and skin complexion. I pulled myself from my thoughts when Alexi started to move towards Beth. He held his hand out to her and introduced himself. I noticed a blush on her face as she introduced herself and her other mate who apparently is named Ethan.
“Ok. Now that we have the whole mates/beloved thing figured out. Can we get to the whole point of this meeting please. I can hear Beth’s stomach growling all the way over here and she just had breakfast.” The girl introduced as Jessica said. Beth’s face turned a bright red with her embarrassment. Alexi and Ethan both growled at her in unison. Not long after we all took our seats Beth between Ethan and Alexi Dimitri beside his beloved who I assume is Erica.
“So care to explain what this all means to me. Pretend I don’t know how to read and explain everything you have found. I would also like to know how you found all of this information out. I have had the best minds and even witches working on this for over 150 years. I need to know what you did differently than they did.” I said.
Alexi POV
I didn’t understand why Roman insisted on dropping everything to come to this wolf pack. Why couldn’t he just call them. Then again this is Roman and anything that remotely relates to his missing beloved is cause to drop everything and go on a wild goose chase. In the last 100 years we have dropped everything so many times I have lost count. I don’t blame him though. I would do the same for my beloved if she was missing.
No one else knows this but I was with Roman when he felt his beloved die. It took a lot of covering up, but most people in the kingdom don’t know of the Queen’s death. Nothing too significant about this pack. The territory is beautiful with all the green lush forest surrounding the pack, but other than that nothing to write home about. I hope we didn’t come here just to kill a bunch of wolves for wasting our time.
We made it into the conference room after the introductions. We were given folders with quite a bit of information that I haven’t even seen before. I wonder how they started this search and if they were doing it on purpose. For some reason I feel like they stumbled upon this information while looking for something else. When the three new people came into the room my beast was up in arms. I looked at the people who came into the room and I noticed the lovely young woman clinging to the man was my beloved. She was noticeably pregnant. My heart hurt knowing that she didn’t wait for me like I did her. No matter. She was chosen for me by the gods and I will love her and her child as if they were my own.
When my brother also said beloved I was freaking out thinking he was mated to the same female as I was. When I realized he was mated to the other woman who looked significantly older than my beloved I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding in.
I heard her say that I was her mate too. I was confused, but then I realized that I was going to be part of a polyamorous group. It isn’t all that uncommon in the vampire world. There are more men than there are women so we have been known to group up if people hadn’t found their beloved in a few centuries. I could handle a group if that is what my beloved is fated to.
After we all sat down with my beloved beside me I noticed that that Jessica girl was right and Beth’s stomach was growling quite loudly.
“Darling, are you hungry? Are you and the little one in need of something to snack on?” I asked her quietly. I noticed the faint blush on her cheeks.
“I’ll be alright until the meeting is over. Thank you though.” She said quietly. Her voice was like an angel’s song.
“Baby, you remember what Marcy said. You need to keep up with the pups. If you are hungry it means that they are using up all the fuel you need to make them. Let me link some of the omegas and see if they can bring in some snacks. Do you want more pineapple?” Ethan said to her.
“With peanut butter please. OH! And some of that chocolate mousse they served last night for dessert if they have any left please.” Beth said after a little more back and forth. I was glad that she finally decided to let someone get her something to eat. Her health and the baby’s health is what matters now.
After a few minutes a couple people came in carrying trays of food. Now that Beth was situated with her odd concoction of foods the Alpha answered King Roman’s questions.
“So we really didn’t intentionally seek this information on Esmerelda, but she popped up into our search because Beth is directly related to her. Sadly Beth and Erica are all that are left from Esmerelda and her child and their child. From the information that we gathered and what Erica knew Esmerelda went by Esme after her disappearance. She didn’t know anything about her past and so she just raised her daughter to the best of her abilities until she died in a car accident. Though the car accident report and the way her body was found do not add up. We suspect that she was killed deliberately. My guess is that she was starting to get her memories back, and whomever caused her to go missing is the reason for her death. I think that about sums it all up. The information we did find on Esmerelda Duncan and his mate are the ones to uncover it. Maggie is a witch and she spelled an encryption program to help find more accurate results.” Alpha Arthur said.
“I see. So all this information about my beloved was found for what reason exactly?” King Roman said after a few moments of thinking over the information.
“That would be because of me sir. I was visited by the Moon Goddess in my dream after I was marked. She told me to ask Arthur about the legend of Lupus. She also stated that I had until the full moon to figure everything out so that I could shift into my Lycan form. At the time we didn’t know that I was a Lycan. The gods are apparently very tight lipped and want us to figure things out ourselves. Anyway, Arthur figured it would be wise to research both sides of my family to see if we can find where my relation to Lupus was. Turns out on my father’s side I am a grandchild of the last Lycan. My mother’s side is where we found the relation to Esmerelda.” Beth answered. I was in awe of my beloved. I never would have guessed that my beloved would be descended from royalty on both sides of her family however distant it may be.
“Alright. I think that is enough information for right now. Would you be put out if we stayed here for the time being. I would really like to sit down with the Beta’s and see if there is any other information we can find on who actually took my beloved. Also it would give Dimitri and Alexi time to get to know their beloveds. I do believe Alexi, Beth, and Ethan need to have a conversation.” Roman said.
We all adjourned the meeting with me leaving with Beth and Ethan so that we could talk about our situation and what we are going to do moving forward.
