“Darling, accepting you or our babies was never an issue with me. I wanted you even after I realized you were pregnant and with another. You are a gift to me from the gods and I intend to treat you as such until our last breaths.” Alexi said to her. Might want to wipe that tear that is about to fall there human. You will tarnish our mighty alpha reputation if people see you cry. I am not crying you mangy mutt. I quickly rub at my eye like I have something in it. I was totally not crying. I could hear Dex laughing in my head. I just rolled my eyes at him.
“Ethan, how do you feel about all of this?” Beth turned to me and asked.
I grabbed her hands in mine and brought them up to my lips and placed a kiss on each of them and said, “Baby I love you. I accepted you and everything that you are when I marked you. Alexi is a part of who you are. I would never stand in your way. My place is not behind or in front of you, but beside you helping you get through this crazy thing we call life.” I meant every word I said. The more I talked the more it all seemed to feel right. It must have been the right thing to say because Beth jumped into my arms and kissed me as she said thank you over and over again. I couldn’t help but laugh and I noticed Alexi was laughing as well but I sensed that he was feeling left out of the affection so I mindlinked Beth. ‘Hey baby. Alexi looks like he could use a hug and a kiss too. He looks like a kicked puppy right now’ I couldn’t help but laugh at my description of him because that is exactly what he looks like right now. Beth gasped and turned to him and embraced him too.
The smile on Alexi’s face when Beth hugged him was priceless. When she straddled his lap I sent a mindlink to everyone to not come up to the alpha floor anytime soon. Which that made me think about how this was going to work and I had to voice my questions before we got too far. “Hey not to interrupt this but how is this going to work with marking. I don’t have to mark you do I? Nothing against you dude but I am not into guys. Like. At. All.”
Alexi actually had the nerve to laugh at me. I am just sitting here asking important questions and he is laughing at me. “Our bond would be stronger if we were all to mark each other, but we don’t have to have s*x to mark each other so long as Beth is there. Trust me. You are not my type either.” Alexi said and chuckled at my expense and then continued saying, ” When we mark I will bite into my wrist and offer it to you Ethan. You will drink it then I will offer it to Beth to drink. After you have both drank my blood you will be able to mark me, and then I will mark Beth first then I will mark Ethan.”
Since my question was answered I joined into their makeout session and that is how we spent our morning after the meeting. Making our bond stronger by adding Alexi into it.
When Beth was about to climax Alexi bit into his wrist and offered it to me as he said he would, and I drank and he did the same for Beth. Then as if we had rehearsed it Beth and I both sank our canines into Alexi’s neck on either side marking him as ours. Alexi let out a roar as he reached his climax and in the next second he sunk his fangs in Beth’s neck causing her to climax. Right after he sunk his fangs into my neck and I exploded. My vision was fading out and then everything came crashing in. All of Alexi’s emotions swirled with mine and Beths. I could feel him like he was a part of me like I can Beth. It was a little odd but it felt right.
‘Are you guys done son? It is lunch time and I think Beth should eat.’ Mom mindlinked me.
‘Mom! Seriously! We will be down in a few minutes’ I could hear my mom laughing before I cut the link.
“Sorry to cut this short, but our presence is being requested for lunch. Well not so much Alexi and I as Beth, but still we probably ought to clean up and head down before Mother sends up a search party for you so she can feed her grandchildren.” I said and we all laughed at that. I don’t think they realize how serious I am about that search party. Mom can be relentless when she is on a mission and Beth and those pups are her mission right now.
After we made ourselves presentable again we walked hand in hand to the dining hall. Alexi was on Beth’s right and I was on her left. We were all showing off our marks proudly. All the chatter stopped as we entered the room. As we passed each table the gossip started. I just rolled my eyes at people. We take our seats at the table and I get up to grab Beth a plate, but before I leave the table I turn to Alexi and ask, “Hey man. Not to sound insensitive or anything but do you eat real food?”
Alexi burst into laughter. I crossed my arms impatiently. It was an honest question. The jerk could at least stop laughing for a second to answer me. When he finally calmed down he said, “I can eat real food as you call it. It just does not give me the same amount of sustenance as it does to you. It will keep me going for a while, but the thirst will get to be difficult after a while and then I would need to feed.”
I nodded to him and told him to follow me. I could at least show him where the food was and be a good host. Plus he can learn what foods Beth likes so that if I am not here for some reason he can get her plate. I explain to him everything I have learned that Beth likes and does not like and what she does not like right now because of the pregnancy. Only reason I know any of this is because I asked her and I wrote down everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. By the time we made it back to the table I saw that Erica and Dimitri I think his name was, were looking a little disheveled too and I do believe I saw a fresh mark on Erica’s neck.
Alexi must have seen it too because he said, “Congratulations brother. I am happy for you. It is kind of odd though. Should I call you brother or Dad?” I burst out laughing because I didn’t even think about that. The gods must be laughing a bit on this match up. The look on Dimitri’s face was priceless. He didn’t know whether to laugh, be mad, or what.
“Alexi knock it off. He hasn’t recovered any of his brain cells yet after his morning activities.” Roman said. That just got everyone laughing even harder and Dimitri’s face turned a shade of red I didn’t think was possible on a man.
We all heard a throat clear and we all turned to see my mother standing there with her hands on her hips with her disapproving face on as she said, “I am ashamed of you all. Talking like that in front of those pups. They will come into this world with foul mouths around you lot.”
We all quieted down and looked down in shame. She was right. What kind of example am I going to be to my children if I talk like that and allow others to talk like that around them. I’ll have to do better. Though it was funny. I am not going to lie.
“Roman, I got a message that your mother is trying to reach you. She said something about a meeting with a Duke’s daughter?” Dimitri said.
“Tell her that I will not be making that meeting or any other meeting that she wants to set up. I will be gone from the capital for the foreseeable future. We are onto something right now I can feel it. We are close to finding out what happened to Esmerelda.” Roman said.
Dimitri nodded and we all finished up lunch with light chatter. It was quite interesting to see how well these vampires assimilate themselves around us. Roman and Duncan seem to be in a deep discussion. Whatever is being said must be good because both men look like a child on Christmas morning. Just when we were all about to stand up from the table to alarm sounded. Rouges!
“Beth, follow mom and help her gather up all the women, elderly, and children and get them all in to the safe room. Don’t leave that room until me, Alexi, or Dad come to get you. Do you understand?” I said to her urgently. She nods her head and I give her a kiss. Alexi grabs her next and gives her a kiss as well. We both head off to where the border patrol spotted the rogues. I shifted into Dex and Alexi and I took off to join the fight.
