The Unknown Lycan Princess - Chapter 72: Chapter 72

Unknown POV
I am so cold. I tried to open my eyes, but they felt so heavy. I wasn’t sure how long I was asleep. I am so damn thirsty though. My throat feels like it is on fire. Like I have a burning hot poker being shoved down my throat. After a few minutes of trying I finally managed to get my eyes open. I looked around me and I didn’t recognize anything. I was in a clearing in a forest, but there was an actual door in the middle of it. I noticed that I was alone. I am not sure where I am, but I feel the need to get out of here now. I feel like there is someplace I need to be. Someone I need to be with. They need my help.
It took me a few minutes to pick myself off of the ground, and a few more minutes to keep myself standing. I wasn’t sure what the hell happened to me, but I would think about that later. This fierce urge to leave this place was not letting up. I rushed to the door and was surprised when I turned the handle. I would have thought it would have been locked or something. As I opened the door I heard a commotion coming from down a hallway. It sounded like fighting. I wasn’t sure where I was exactly but what I did know is that I needed to go that way to get out of here. Maybe if I help someone would tell me where I was and help me get home and something to bloody drink too so I can stop the torture happening in my throat.
I made my way slowly to the end of the corridor and peeked around the side. I saw four men looking around them looking spooked with another man laying on the floor with his throat slit. There was a woman standing behind them just watching. She didn’t seem worried about the men so I assumed she was with them or they were with her. Before I could even realize what was happening another man fell to the floor holding his throat as blood seeped through his fingers as he tried to stop the flow of blood, but it was useless. He was dead by the time his body hit the floor.
My eyes though were transfixed to the blood. I felt my body tighten like it was about to spring into action. My eyes widened when I realized what that meant. I was a vampire, but how? I don’t remember being turned. I thought the need for blood was all consuming at first. So how was I able to keep myself from attacking at the first sight or scent of blood. ‘That is because you aren’t just a vampire. Hi my name is Kara and I am your Lycan. Mother Selene was told by Fate and Destiny that your time on this earth was cut too short and that this needed to happen. I will tell you more about it, but I think our princess needs some help. That woman has a hold of her, and those men are about to let loose on her.’
I was startled for a minute before I looked up and saw Beth very very pregnant being held by her arms by that woman while the men were taking turns punching her face. I rushed towards them and grabbed the first man and ripped him away. Beth’s eyes were wide with surprise. “Mom,” I heard Beth whisper and I saw tears streaming down her face.
Before I could do or say anything else the last two men came running at me. I quickly dodged to the left and missed the first guy’s punch. I wasn’t so lucky to miss the second guy’s fist though, but he didn’t get full impact because I had dodged out of the first one. I kicked Thing 1 in the nuts and turned full focus on Thing 2. I feigned a right jab, but when he dodged out of the way I brought my left foot up and kicked him hard in his face. I was shocked to see him go flying through the air and crash so hard into the wall that he went through it. I turned to Thing 1 who was just starting to stand up and Kara spoke up in my mind, ‘Let me at them. They will think twice before they mess with our pup ever again.’ I wasn’t sure what she was going to do, but I let her come to the surface.
I was a little scared of shifting because I heard it hurt. ‘We won’t shift right now. We need to have the full moon, but I can still take control of our body.’ Kara said. I was actually kind of thankful for that. ‘Besides I don’t need to shift to defeat these imbeciles. It is like they chose the worst fighters they had to come here and take our pup. They will learn that was their second mistake. The first was thinking they could lay a hand on my pup in the first place!’
Kara POV
As soon as Erica let me have control of our body I launched myself at the first dumbass that thought they could lay a hand on my pup. I will break every bone in his arm for even laying a single finger on my pup. What kind of man beats on a pregnant woman? Like seriously. I know we are wolves and all and more animal than human, but still we have a human side and should at least have a sense of right and wrong. Then again by his stench he is a rogue and they are mostly criminals.
I reveled in his screams as I ripped his arm away from his body and started to beat him with it. Not as satisfying as using my own claws on him, but I will work with what I have and right now I have his arm. The second dumbass finally climbed out of his body shaped hole in the wall and looked at me like I was a crazy person as I continued to beat the first one with his own arm. Don’t worry little buddy. You’re next! I said to myself with a manic chuckle.
I am normally not so violent, but these people have done the one thing I will not tolerate. They hurt my baby and they have to pay with their lives, but not before they regret ever setting their sight on my precious princess. The first guy was dead from either blood loss or from me beating his skull in with his own arm. I tossed the arm back down on his body and turned to the second guy and gave a smirk and motioned him with my finger to come to me. He shook his head and tried to run away.
I wasn’t about to have any of that. You don’t beat on my daughter who is pregnant with my grandpups and get away with your life. Not on my watch. I jumped towards him and tackled him to the ground. He was begging me to please spare him and that he didn’t have a choice, but I didn’t want to hear it. He had a choice to lay a hand on my pup and he chose to do it. He will find no mercy from me. I heard Beth scream and noticed that the woman who was holding Beth had thrown Beth to the ground and kicked her hard in her stomach before she turned and ran away. Beth was cradling her stomach and tears were running down her face. I noticed there was a puddle of water with a tinge of blood pooling beneath her. CRAP!
I turned to the dumbass that was now trying to crawl away from me since my attention was elsewhere. Not so fast. I shoved my hand through his back and grabbed his heart in my hand and yanked it out. I didn’t even wait to watch the light leave his eyes as I dropped his heart on the ground beside him. I rushed to Beth and picked her up. I told her to point me towards the hospital, but she didn’t know where it was. I decided I didn’t have time to waste, these pups were coming and we needed to get her a doctor.
I rushed out the door I watched the woman go through and was not surprised when it took us outside. This place was unfamiliar to me, but I just ran to where the biggest buildings were. I hoped at least one of them would be where the hospital was or at least someone who could tell me. I finally made it to the biggest building and rushed inside. I wasn’t surprised to see that there weren’t any people around. The rogues gave it away that this place was being attacked so everyone would most likely either be out fighting or in hiding. I yelled out for help hoping someone would hear me.
It didn’t take long and a beautiful woman stepped out of a door I didn’t even notice. It blended into the wall really well. She took one look at Beth and rushed towards us and said, “What happened. Oh Goddess Beth. Follow me. I called for the healer. She is going to meet us at the clinic. I am Anna by the way.”
“I am Kara, but my human is Erica, Beth’s mother.” I said as a way of introduction.
She nodded to me and rushed out the door that I had just come through. We went to a structure that looked more like a small house. We walked in and I could smell the antiseptic and bleach.
There was a woman there waiting for us with a couple of nurses. They took us into a room and she had me lay Beth down on the bed. As she asked me what happened. I explained as best as I could everything that I knew which really wasn’t much. They all went to work right away and got Beth undressed and into a gown that allowed the doctor to see what she needed to see. Beth screamed out in pain again and after a few minutes she broke out into sobs. She was crying for her mates.
I looked up to Anna and she had her eyes clouded over. I assume she was mindlinking someone. When her eyes cleared she looked troubled. “I can’t reach my mate or son. They must still be fighting the rogues.”
I looked at Beth again and made up my mind. My pup wanted her mates and her mates she will get. “I will be right back princess. Don’t worry mama is going to get your mates for you. You just hold on and listen to the doctor and Anna ok? Doctor, how much time does she have until the pups are here?”
“Pups? She is having twins?” The doctor asked, surprised. Dragons don’t usually have more than one hatchling at a time. Twins were sacred in their kind.
“Three actually.” I responded to her question.
“Oh my. We will make her as comfortable as possible, but her water broke so it shouldn’t be long. I am not exactly equipped to deliver three pups, but I will get some more help. Hurry because she is dilating fast. She was only 3cm when you came in and she is now at 5cm and nearly fully effaced,” The doctor said.
I nodded and kissed my pup on her head and rushed out of the room. I wasn’t exactly sure where they were at, but I used my nose and sniffed out the rotting stench of rogues figuring that is where they would be.
