                    Shawn’s POV
I instantly shrugged my hand off her. “Let’s focus on why we are here. I’ve got somewhere more important to be.” I said sternly, trying not to get angry at myself for letting my dad talk me into this.
I saw the disappointment in her eyes but she quickly covered it up with her smile.
“Somewhere more important?” She arched her brow. “Oh, it’s late so I assume you are talking about your wife. I was so surprised when my Dad told me that you got married. I’m happy for you though.”
I scoffed to my surprise. “You thought I was never going to move on from you?”
“Well, you were really obsessed with me so I was scared for you.”
“You don’t have to be. You choose your path and I’m glad because I would never trade my present for anything.” I voiced out before the deep meaning of what I said hit me. I was here but my mind was with Cassie.
I thought I liked cool, calm, and submissive women but Cassie was indeed a different breed who I was slowly getting fond of.
“Obsession fades! If I had my way, I wouldn’t be here but I’ve got no choice.”
“Do I disgust you that much?” She asked, her eyes not leaving mine.
“You and I are a thing of the past, Stella. Let’s get to business or I’ll take my leave.”

Cassie’s POV
“I see why kids are restricted from their devices. I can’t believe I’ve been with this phone since noon, exploring one app after the other.” I mumbled, scrolling through my insta.
I hadn’t fixed a picture on my profile and Kayla was still my only friend. I tried searching for Shawn and a lot of pages popped up. I couldn’t locate him so I guessed he wasn’t a media person.
I was almost closing the app when a picture caught my attention.
Shawn??!!
My heart fell seeing he wasn’t alone in the picture. The first slide, A woman had her hand on top of his and stared at him with desire in her eyes. The second slide, they were discussing over drinks, and in the third slide, they were both leaving the restaurant.
“Shawn and his ex; Stella. Could they be back together?” I read the caption out loud and instantly rolled my eyes in a bid to stop them from itching with tears.
I was lying on the sofa. I slowly sat up, my eyes not leaving the device I had in my hand.
“I knew this was too good to be true. A baby maker. That’s all he sees me as.” I mumbled.
“He promised me dinner, yet he’s out with his ex.”
“Asshole!” I mumbled, logging out of the app.
………………….
I was flipping through the channels, searching for something more entertaining that was going to take my mind away from what I saw earlier when I noticed that familiar presence walk in.
I could smell him and knew it was him, but I refused to look in his direction.
“Hi, babe.” He said, taking slow steps towards the sofa I was seated on.
I ignored the goosebumps that erupted on my body. This was my first time hearing him call me that.
I had my eyes on the TV, still surfing the channels.
“Babe?!” He called out again and almost immediately I felt him place a kiss on my head.
I turned around, threw him a hard glare, and then turned my attention back to the TV before me.
I heard footsteps but I couldn’t care less where he was headed to this time around. That was until I felt a dip in the couch beside me. I tossed the TV remote aside and was almost standing to my feet when Shawn pulled me back and made me sit on his lap.
“Let go of me.” I tried to get out of his hold but he wrapped both his hands around my waist.
“You are still mad at me from this morning?” I could hear the concern in his voice and that got me madder! I couldn’t believe that he was acting like a saint right now.
“Get off me, Shawn! I’m not in the mood!” I said with gritted teeth.
“Have you had dinner?” He asked.
“Why? So you can have a second one?”
His brow creased and I knew he was confused by what I just said.
“I hate lies and I definitely haven’t forgiven you for the stunt you pulled at the registry. You may have all the power in the world but I won’t let you treat me like shit! You don’t sweet talk to me in the morning, then run off to your ex at night to ease yourself.”
I saw the confusion in Shawn’s eyes. Then he seemed to finally get what I was talking about but still chose to deny it.
“What do you mean?”
“Oh please, Stop being a coward! You wouldn’t want me to be seen out there with you and yet you want me to birth your heir? How the hell am I supposed to know that you are not going to maltreat my child?” It was a norm that we think before we speak but I was doing the opposite and I didn’t care. I’ve literally been through the worst thing that could ever happen to anyone so if he wanted me solely as a babymaker, then he should just say it to my face.
“Wait, you are referring to Stella?” Shawn said and I rolled my eyes.
“How do you know I was with her?” He asked with confusion all over his face, his hand still not letting go of my waist.
“Fuck you!!!!” I said, trying to stand to my feet but I failed.
“That was Stella, my ex from a long time ago. The meeting was meant for Dad but he had an emergency in France so I had to represent him.”
“I don’t care and you don’t owe me any explanation!” Yup, I said so but why the hell was I still mad?
Shawn released one of his arms around my waist and tucked some stray strands of hair behind my hair.
“You look cute when you are jealous.”
“Jealous?!” Did he just accuse me of being jealous?
“Oh please! I don’t care who you fuck or who you spend breakfast, lunch and dinner with. I refuse to be treated like a fool and all I request is for you to be straight with me! Now let go of me before I do or say what I’m going to regret!”
“Do your worst!” Shawn said without a care in the world, sneaking a hand under my dress.
