“It’s good to hear you say that but it hurts to know you don’t trust your mama anymore.” Rhoda chuckled, returning her daughter’s hug.
“Don’t be sad, mama,” Lauretta mumbled, pulling away from the hug. “It’s not that I don’t trust you but this was looking so impossible to lay a hand on.” She gestured at the invite. “You know how much I hate keeping my hopes up so I don’t get disappointed but you proved me wrong once more. I’m so proud to have you as my mom.” Lori grinned.
“Of course.” Rhoda tried to hide her blush. “It was tough but I did it. I’m not sure an opportunity like this would present itself anytime soon so we need to make the best of this event.” Rhoda said sternly.
“Of course, Mom. I won’t disappoint you. I promise.”
“But won’t you fill me in on how you were able to lay a hand on the invite? Don Travous’s parties are always a big deal. My friends would be so fucking jealous when I post pictures of the event.”
“Of course they’ve got every right to be jealous of you. You may be their friend but you are never at their level. You will be the happiest and most successful among them.” Rhoda said, causing her daughter to blush.
“Sure! I will let you know how I was able to pull a few strings to get the invite. But that will be later. We need to focus on your outfit and how we are going to get a luxurious car to get us to the venue.” She added.
“The car shouldn’t be a problem. I will reach out to a few people on my contact list. But I think the dress is the most important. The party is going to be filled with elegant people and we must not fall short of the standard.”
“Yes, my love. I heard a filthy rich billionaire would be present.” Rhoda said.
Lauretta arched her brow. “Aren’t they all billionaires?”
“I mean all the guests that would be attending.”
“Yes, they are. But you should also know that even in the midst of billionaires, there are poor billionaires. We are well aware of what we want and there is no way we are settling for less.”
“This one owns the top group of companies in the country. I heard he is filthy rich but likes to keep a low profile. He is going to be our first catch.”
Lauretta nodded, taking note of all her mother was saying. “How do I recognize him?” She asked excitedly.
“Don’t worry about that. I will ask for his name and we will locate him tomorrow.”
Lori smiled, nodding. The smile slowly disappeared from her face when she thought of something. “What if he comes with a date or he has someone he likes already?”
“Oh dear, you need to let go of your emotions and try to understand that life isn’t fear. You need to fight for what you want or else we are going to stay poor, broke, and irrelevant forever.”
“Every invite admits a plus one so everyone is definitely going to come with their partners or a date but that shouldn’t get to you. Your eyes should be on the prize. Seduce him, do all you can to get him close to you. You have to fight until you can no more.” Rhoda advised her daughter.
“Don’t worry, Mom. You raised one hell of a sexy woman. There’s no way he is going to resist me. I will do all I can.”
“Good! I know you won’t disappoint me.”
“I can’t believe my dream is coming through. I’m going to be the mother-in-law to a rich and prominent man.” Rhoda said dreamily while Lauretta blushed.
“I’m excited too. I would finally be able to afford all of the luxury items that my heart desires.” Lori giggled.
“Yes, my love. We are going to move out of this shitty home and my son-in-law will definitely get us trendy cars.”
“I can’t wait for tomorrow night,” Lauretta confessed.
“Same here. But don’t forget about the made-up story of how your father abandoned us.”
“Trust me, Mom. I know what to do. Our time is now and I’m so excited for what’s to come.”

Cassie’s Pov
I shivered when I felt Shawn’s warm cum sink inside of me. He got off me and cuddled me one more time.
“Do you go raw on every woman you meet?” I whispered against his chest since my head was on it. Shawn tilted my head with his fingers so that he could look into my eyes. “You always want to fight with me, don’t you? You don’t like it when things are peaceful between us.” Shawn attacked me with his words.
“I’m always curious.”
“I’m clean if that’s what you are worried about.”
“You’ve not answered my questions.” I insisted, even though I felt jealousy slowly creep into my heart. My mind could be crazy at times; because tell me why the hell I was feeling this way about the women that were no longer present in his life.
“Sometimes.” He answered.
I hit him on the chest. “You are a pig!!” I said, then was about to help myself from the couch when he stopped me by holding me back.
“Where do you think you are going?” His voice was stern and possessive.
“I’m done here.” I responded, trying so hard not to look into his eyes.”
“No, you are not. We haven’t discussed your performance.” He said and I instantly rolled my eyes.
“If you keep doing that, then I would have no choice but to take you again.” The tiny hairs at the back of my neck stood to attention at the tone of his voice. It was crazy how I was exhausted but my body was still reacting to him wanting me.
Shawn placed a kiss on my already erect nipple.
I glared at him.
“You get jealous easily over things that do not matter,” Shawn said to me.
“I don’t know what you are talking about.” I lied.
“You’ve got exes and so do I. Why don’t we leave them in the past and just focus on us?”
“Us?” I reiterated.
“We are married. Just so you forgot that.”
“I don’t know what you are talking about. You might just be the overthinker here. All I wanted was to go to bed.”
“Okay,” Shawn said. He got off the sofa and picked me up in a bridal style.
“I can walk.”
“You mean you can limp?” He said with a small smile at the corner of his lips and I threw him mean glares.
“I want to save the rest of your energy for when we get to the room. Since you are an overthinker, I need to give you reasons why I love to go raw on you.”
I swallowed painfully.
Before I moved my lips to say anything, Shawn started to make his way towards the stairs.
“OO….Our clothes?” I whispered. The last thing I wanted was for the maids to come in and see the mess we made.
“We’ve got something more important to attend to.” The desire in Shawn’s voice sent cold chills down my spine.
