CASSIE’S POV
The next morning.
I slowly opened my eyes and a feeling of emptiness overwhelmed me knowing I slept with Shawn holding onto me as though his life depended on it but he was nowhere to be found beside me.
Why do I feel so sad?
‘Could he be in the bathroom?’ I thought to myself and my heart started beating even faster.
I placed my head back on the pillow, shut my eyes, and patiently waited for him to be out.
My mind flashed back to Shawn pushing me against the wall and drilling me with his fingers. A soft moan unintentionally left me and I found myself squeezing my thighs together to ease some friction.
I couldn’t believe I had my first orgasm with a douchebag last night. But I couldn’t be more proud of myself for not going further with him. I don’t like him and I don’t trust him. But why does my body act a certain way when he moves close to me?
I mentally slapped myself in the face, relieving my head from having unnecessary thoughts. ‘Never give in to him. He’s not different from all my exes.’ I warned my mind.
“Isn’t he taking too long in the bathroom?” I mumbled to myself after a while, slowly sitting up on the bed. I took a glance around the room and realized that the wheelchair was no longer in sight. I pushed aside the duvet and got down from the bed.
Barefoot, I started to take slow steps towards the bathroom. I had hardly taken three steps when a knock on the door came through.
I frowned, but then I remembered that we were at the hotel and that might be the staff, coming to render room service.
Opening the door, I came face to face with a huge man, clothed in a dark suit.
“Good Morning, Ma’am, Are you ready to leave?”
My eyebrow creased. But then I realized he probably had no idea that he had gotten lost. “I think you got it all wrong. I’m not the one you are looking for.”
“You are the one I’m here for, Mrs Cassie. The Boss requested I bring you home.”
I frowned even deeper. “What boss?”
“Master Shawn.”
“Shawn?” I said in disbelief. “Look, I don’t know what you are talking about. My husband is in the bathroom.” I was about to shut the door when he stopped me with the words.
“Master left long ago. You should come with me. Unless you want the staff to throw you out.”
I scoffed, mumbling to myself. “I had no idea that privacy was invaded in hotels.”
“Shawn!!!!!” I shut the door and went in the direction of the bathroom. I knocked on the door. “Can you come out, please? There’s a stranger at the door and I am tired of explaining myself to him.”
I waited a second but I got no response. “Shawn?!!” I brought my ears to the door. I was leaning forward so my weight pushed it open and I came face to face with an empty bathroom. My heart fell and I couldn’t explain why. I can’t believe he left without informing me. He left me at the hotel after using me last night as though I meant nothing to him.
I scoffed, tilting my head to the back in a bid to push back my tears. “Of course, I mean nothing to him. I’m here to repay my father’s debt so he gets to treat me however he wants.”
I went back to the door and thankfully the gentleman was still there. “I was mistaken, Shawn isn’t here. Who are you and why are you calling him Master?” I asked, not understanding the kind of life that I was entangled in.
“Enoch and I work for Master Shawn. Please get your things and let’s get going. I also have other errands to run.”
I nodded, going back in and gently shutting the door behind me. I cleaned up and picked up my duffel bag. It was then I noticed that Shawn’s stuff was gone too. I was out of the room in no time in my sundress. Enoch offered to carry my duffel bag but I refused.
Enoch and I were waiting in front of the three-star hotel when a car that I had never seen before pulled up in front of us. Even though I knew nothing about cars, I was certain this one I was staring at cost a fortune. It’s crazy how some people are so blessed to afford whatever the hell they want and here was I, living a life that I wouldn’t want my enemy to have.
“When is the taxi arriving?” I asked Enoch who was standing to my right.
“Taxi?” He sounded unsure.
“Yes, or how are we getting to our destination?”
“This is our ride.” He pointed to the dreamy car before us.
I rolled my eyes at his words. “How’s that even possible?”
Before Enoch could say a word, the door to the driver’s seat flung open and a familiar face came out of the car.
I frowned. “Isn’t that?......” I suddenly went speechless. “What are you doing here?” I gestured to the driver. As far as I remember, he was the one pushing Shawn’s wheelchair at the registry yesterday. But right now, he was putting on a perfectly tailored suit.
I looked in between both men, “What the hell is going on?”
“This is Henry. Master’s driver. He will be taking us home.” Enoch said. At this point, people were looking in our direction.
Henry opened the door to the back passenger seat. Then he walked up to me. “Good day, Ma. Is it okay if I place your bag in the trunk?” He referred to my duffel bag which I held on my left arm.
“We really need to be on our way. I’m sure Master will talk to you about everything you need to know.” Enoch assured upon seeing the confusion on my face.
I unwillingly gave my bag to Henry; he placed it in the trunk after which I got into the car and Henry shut the door. Enoch got into the front passenger seat, and Henry drove.
There were so many questions running through my mind that I got confused as to where to begin. I had never been in a private vehicle. My legs were my major means of transportation and I took the public bus. My ex-husbands made me a housewife. I never had the privilege of going out with them. Hell, none of them even had a car this huge and classy.
I couldn’t wait to see my husband who had deserted me at the hotel. I tried to free my mind from those thoughts because I was starting to feel pain in my chest. I know we hated each other but my mind still couldn’t come to terms with the fact that he ditched me after what happened.
I mentally slapped myself in the head, reminding my heart that he only sees me as his property.
I heaved a low sigh and rested my back against the headrest. I buried myself in my thoughts, looking into the streets from the window.
Soon enough, we pulled up before an estate. My eyes went wide as I took in my surroundings.
