                    Cassie’s POV
“Yeah, I thought as much that you might not be comfortable with him because of his gender. I’ll talk to him to get us a female doctor that would take over.” Shawn said as a result of my reaction.
“No… no that’s not what I mean.” I stammered.
“Then why do you look so lost?”
I was thinking of what to say when I recalled why I was mad at him. “You were rude to Eran.”
Shawn frowned. “Is this a trick to change the conversation or did he really say this to you?”
“He attended to me and he felt really sorry.”
“As he should. He was to be on standby for you. Thank you for reminding me about that. I’ll have another person take over. Preferably a female doctor.”
“So you can be rude to her too?”
“You’re sounding as though I’m the devil here. I was worried so I attacked him for not attending to you. And of course, I won’t take it easy on the female doc if she slacks on her job. Your health is our priority.”
“I don’t think you mean that because you left your sick wife all alone.”
Shawn groaned. “Please don’t start.”
I shrugged. “You left anyway.”
“I’m not one to allocate blame but it was all your fault. Do you think it was easy to leave this environment knowing that you were not feeling okay? My temper isn’t good and I knew it was best for me to go elsewhere to cool off. I knew I was not going to be here, that’s why I instructed Doreen and the Doctor to be at your call.”
“Well, if it’s going to make you feel better, the whole family scolded me.”
“Whole family?”
“Yes! Dad, Kelvin, and Kay.”
“I’m glad they did. Because you deserve it.”
“Whose side are you on?” For a moment I saw jealousy in his eyes and I couldn’t help but wonder why.”
“Not yours, of course.” Shawn was about to say something when I interrupted. And that reminds me “Can I have your phone?”
“Why?” He replied almost immediately.
I could see him get tense. So Kay was right about him?
“I just want to know how important I am to you since you always throw it in my face that I’m a priority.”
“So what does my phone have to do with that?”
“It’s fine. I’ve gotten my answer. You’ve definitely been teasing me.”
Still not convinced by my words, Shawn slowly rose to his feet. He took steps to where his clothes were on the floor. He picked up his jacket and took the phone out of his pocket.
He mumbled some inaudible words before taking steps towards me.
He sat where he was previously seated.
Staring at me intently, Shawn passed his phone to me.
“I touched the face of the phone only to see my face stare back at me on the lock screen.”
For some unknown reason, my heart started to race. As someone who grew up believing to be regular, this was strange. It’s safe to say that every compliment I have ever received about my body and personality came from Shawn and his siblings.
“How did you get this?” I referred to the picture on the lock screen. It was a picture of me on the night of Don Trevous’s party. I was seated and smiling. I couldn’t even stop staring at Shawn’s phone because of how good I looked in it.
“Don Trevous shared the pictures. His photographer took them.”
Makes sense now. “I look like one of those top models that makes the covers for popular magazines.”
“Of course you do. If not, it wouldn’t be on the front page of my phone.” Shawn said, bringing me out of my little thoughts. Wait did I say that loud and did he just confirm?
I ignored the small blush that was slowly starting to creep onto my cheeks.
“Why didn’t you share it with me? Don’t I deserve to see?”
Shawn brought a hand to the back of his neck and stylishly massaged it. “It slipped my mind.”
I frowned. “That’s a silly thing to say since you literally see it every time you pick up your device.”
“I don’t deny seeing it a thousand times a day. It just slipped my mind that you don’t have access to it.”
I nodded. Then I swiped up. “Pin?” I asked my husband.
He stared at me deeply but couldn’t bring himself to say anything yet.
“99658.”
I punched in the numbers immediately after he said them and I got full access instantly.
I scrolled towards Shawn’s gallery and my eyes went wide.
“A stalker?”
He shook his head. “It’s never a crime to have as many pictures of my wife as I want.”
“When did you even take all of this?” I asked, looking in between Shawn and his phone as I scrolled through.
“When you weren’t looking.”
“Why? I can’t even find you here.” I mumbled. Apart from pictures from Don Travous’s party, the rest of the pictures were unawares. They were taken when I wasn’t even looking. And a couple of pictures of me sleeping.
“But, I can’t find you here and this is your phone.”
Shawn shrugged. “I only put important stuff on my phone.”
“Oh my God, don’t tell me you masturbate to these pictures.” I gestured the phone to his face, showing him the particular picture I was referring to. I was sleeping and my boobs were almost falling out of my nightie. Even my nipples could be seen erect.”
Shawn smiled to my annoyance. “Just take a look at those erect sexy nipples. I’m sure you were dreaming of me fucking yout.” I nudged Shawn with my leg, making him chuckle.
“The pictures are for days like today where I miss you but I’m not close to you to see or touch you.”
I frowned. “Why would you even miss me?”
“There’s just something about you that pisses me off and at the same time makes me wanna protect you. And of course, the sex.”
“I’ve never masturbated with your pictures because I didn’t see the need to when I can just have the real thing.”
“Lies!!!”
Shawn shook his head. “I’m too old to tell a lie.”
“But I’m not worthy of the red room yet. You are just a scam!”
Shawn laughed at my words to his heart’s content.
I mentally slapped myself in the head for mentioning that. No doubt that I sounded desperate.
“You can’t wait hun?” He teased me and I rolled my eyes.
I scoffed. “How many women have been there before me?”
Shawn chuckled. “Don’t you want to get well first before you start getting all kinky?”
“I want to know.”
“Sandra has been there?” I couldn’t help myself.
The smile on Shawn’s face slowly faded. “I thought we had agreed not to speak about her anymore.”
“I’m human and in as much as I try not to think about it, a small part of me is still triggered. Yeah, she’s no longer in your life but I have no idea why I am freaking out about the unknown.”
“Don’t make me say what’s on my mind,” Shawn whispered.
“That’s surprising since you are the most brutal person I’ve ever come across.”
“Yeah. I just don’t want to see you get pompous.”
I rolled my eyes. “Spill!”
“You made me get over her quickly so I think you should know that you won for real.”
I rolled my eyes, ignoring the tiny butterflies in my stomach.
“I saw her at the party, remember?”
Shawn scoffed. “You must be sick in the head if you think I’m teasing you or that she is finer than you.”
“I never jumped on her like I do with you. You just make me crazy in ways I don’t explain.” He answered, staring at me intently.
I could feel my cheeks heating up but I tried to take my mind off that.
“You are saying this because we just got together. It’s always really good in the beginning.”
“Have you ever felt this way with anyone before?” I could see a glint of jealousy in Shawn’s eyes as he spoke.
“Feel what?”
“Scrap that. I remember our first night. And I hope I’ve been able to live up to your expectations.”
I shook my head immediately.
“You want me to prove it to you?”
“Don’t you come near me!” I said with gritted teeth.
Shawn smiled. “Yeahhhh! Just one touch from me and you are gone.”
“You wish!” I scoffed.
“Recover soon. I also think you are ready for the red room.”
“Remember you hit me the last time we were there? That’s why I’ve been acting reluctant towards the experience. I could be a different person in there and I don’t want to scare you away.”
I swallowed painfully in anticipation.
“My words are making you wet. Aren’t they?” He teased and I instantly rolled my eyes at him. I hated that he knew my body so well.
I looked away from him and my eyes landed on Shawn’s phone that was in my hand. I came face to face with my face on the lock screen and it instantly brought back a curious memory.
“Why did you invite me to the stage? And the gifts you presented to Don Travous, they are purely in your name right?” I chuckled, “They have to be because the only thing on my name is my father’s debt. And why did you tell him we would be inviting him to another wedding party? What’s going on?”

“Yeah, I thought as much that you might not be comfortable with him because of his gender. I’ll talk to him to get us a female doctor that would take over.” Shawn said as a result of my reaction.
