Shawn’s POV
“Where’s my wife?” I asked Doreen. Of course, I had gone to the room, and she was nowhere to be found.
“I just served her drinks in the movie room,” Doreen answered, making me arch my brow.
I knew my home had a theatre room, but I could count how many times I had been there. I don’t even think I recalled how it looked.
“How long has she been there?” I couldn’t help but ask.
“More than an hour now.”
“Did she have her food, take her meds? Did the doctor come to check on her?” I asked, knowing I had instructed Doreen to keep a close eye on my wife.
“Yes, he came to check up on her. She did well with breakfast and lunch but wants nothing for dinner.”
“Okay, thank you,” I mumbled, then made my way to the theatre room.
I pushed the door open to be met with my wife’s laughter. A sound that warmed my heart so much. She sounded free, happy, and without worries. Something that I hardly experienced when she was with me.
The lights were turned off, but I could see because of the light reflection of the TV.
Cassie saw me, and the smile instantly disappeared from her lips.
I shut the door behind me and took slow steps to where she was. She was curled up on the recliner chair in the first row. She had a soft blanket covering her lower body. Then, to her left-hand side was a portable table, which had drinks and snacks that she barely touched.
Once I got to where she was, I leaned over, placed a kiss on her forehead, then took a seat beside her.
“You didn’t miss me?” I voiced out the moment she turned her attention back to the TV instead of me.
Cassie said nothing. She didn’t tear her eyes away from the large screen before her either.
“I’m jealous.”
I guess I finally got her attention since she reached for the remote, paused the movie she was watching, and turned to face me.
“Of?”
“The strangers in the movie made you laugh, while it’s so hard for me to get a smile from you.”
She scoffed, rolling her eyes at the same time. “Don’t be ridiculous.”
“We both know I am speaking the truth.”
“I stumbled on some mean comments, so I came here to get my mind off it.”
I turned my face to the other side for a second and mumbled some incoherent words. “You promised you were going to stay off the media.”
“I didn’t mean to. I was done reading the book I had, I was bored, and then there was nothing to do. I decided to watch something on YouTube, then stuff popped up. It was as though the algorithm knew it was I who was being talked about. It didn’t occur to me that the scandal was going to extend to YouTube. People analysing situations that they have no idea about.”
“What did you see?” I asked, staring at my wife intently. Her lips twitched, but she ended up swallowing her words.
“You did well with the press conference.”
“Don’t change the subject, please. And if you recall the name of the channel, I promise that they will be wiped off by sunrise.”
“You gonna take their page down?” She asked.
“Shouldn’t they have done due diligence to verify the accuracy of the subject matter?”
“I made it clear in the broadcast that anyone who had said silly stuff about you should wipe them off or else they are going to face the consequences of their actions. So not only will their page be taken down, they will also suffer for their doings.”
“There’s no need. I don’t even remember the names of the channels.” She mumbled.
“I’m sure we will find them in your watch history,” I said, and Csssie heaved a deep sigh.
“It doesn’t matter. I’ve moved on. This movie has taken my mind away from the hurtful words.”
“I don’t forgive people easily, and you shouldn’t either.”
“I’m not saying this just because you are my wife, but you are one of the kindest people I have ever come across. You don’t deserve to be disrespected.”
“You don’t have to hold back. You can always say whatever it is that’s on your mind.” I said to Cassie the moment I figured out she was holding back. Yesterday was tense and weird as fuck. We literally went to bed with our backs against each other. Not sure I want the same tonight.
I know I am not the easiest person to live with, but your words warm my heart. There’s nothing degrading that strangers can say about me that I haven’t heard my step-mom and sister call me. I guess that’s why it’s easy for me not to think about it. But thank you for fighting for me.”
“You could have easily tossed the blame on me for bringing so much shame to you, but you walked up to the podium with your head high. You spent 98 percent of your address defending me. This is new to me that I almost do not know how to react.”
For someone that we do fight all the time, her words really got to me. It made me feel as though I was doing something extra special, but she didn't understand that it’s my responsibility to take good care of her.
“I’m your husband, so you’re my priority. I have to protect you.”
“I’m only beginning to wrap my head around the fact that I’m not alone anymore, and that I have you to run to.”
I nodded slowly. “I love the sound of that. I’ll always fight for you.” I reached for Cassie’s hand under the blanket, brought it to my lips, and kissed the back of her palm.
She was about to pull her hand away, but I refused to let go. “I just need a minute to be in your head.”
“Why?” She asked, staring curiously at me.
“So that I would know what’s going on in your head.”
She rolled her eyes at me.
“Don’t do that!” I groaned.
“Not only do you love to invade people’s privacy, You are so damn bossy too.”
“No, that statement shouldn’t come from you.”
“Why?” She mumbled, moving her face closer to me. “You think I’m going to let you bully me all because you fuck me.”
My lips curved into a smile. “You do not need to go through corners to tell me what you want.”
“I don’t want anything.”
“Liar!!!” I accused.
“You need to stop thinking so highly about yourself. Sex isn’t everything. Besides, I could give myself much more pleasure than you would.”
I hated it when people challenged me. But I get triggered whenever my woman does.
“You do touch yourself when I’m not home?” I asked, ignoring the burn in my chest.
Cassie rolled her eyes at me once more, taking her hand off my hold.
“You can give yourself more pleasure than I would give to you? You’ve got toys?” I rambled, I wasn’t sure where this conversation was headed, but my ego was being trashed, and I knew I had to do something.
Cassie looked away from me. She turned her attention back to the large screen before her, reached for the remote, then continued where she left off in her movie before I interrupted.
…………………..
Cassie’s Pov.
I could feel Shawn’s eyes bore holes into my skin. I had no idea if he was hoping I would turn my attention to him or retract my words. Even though my eyes were glued to the screen, my mind was elsewhere.
From the corner of my eye, I saw Shawn rise to his feet. He took off his jacket and placed it on the arm of the recliner he was previously seated on.
My heart raced when I saw him unzip his pants.
What the hell was he driving at?
Before I knew it, my husband started getting rid of his shirt.
I swallowed painfully.
Still, I couldn’t bring myself to look him fully in the eyes.
My heart beat really hard against my chest when he started to take steps towards me.
Shawn reached for my hand and instantly pulled me up as though I weighed nothing.
I was almost lashing out at him when the desire in his eyes caused me to swallow my words. As someone who never saw herself as a big deal while growing up, I still hadn’t gotten used to the fact that Shawn still stared at me as though I were his favorite snack.
I was brought out of my thoughts when I felt him run a finger over my hard rock nipple.
I hissed in pleasure.
“What are you doing?” I managed to form a sentence, ignoring the feelings that were flying in me, and at the same time, trying not to look below his eye level.
“Watch with you,” Shawn answered. He took a seat, then drew me close to him until I landed on his lap.
I shivered when my ass met with his dick. I think I was in the wrong attire. My lounge dress was silky but quite revealing too.
My back was resting against Shawn’s broad chest. He parted my legs and slowly ran his fingers in between my thighs.
At this point, a hand of my dress had fallen off my shoulder, slightly revealing my boob. There was no doubt I was in the wrong outfit.
“Let go of me!” I meant my word, but my voice came out in a tone that was almost as though I was pleading with him to keep touching me.
Shawn ignored my statement and continued to warm me up as he moved his hands up and down my thighs.
“I wanna see which is better. Me? Or your hands?”
I instantly rolled my eyes at his statement. “Have some shame and learn to take up criticisms! This is a movie room!”
It was insane that I was trying to lecture Shawn about shame. He had made love to me in the living room and almost in the kitchen. So this enclosed movie room was nothing. I should know that, right?
“Shame?” I don’t have that when it has to do with you. This body.” He withdrew his hands from my inner thighs and grabbed my boobs, gently caressing them.
I bit my lower lip to stop myself from moaning out loud.
“I will always be shameless when it comes to your body.”
“I take criticism. But this is not one. You dared me with your statement, and I need to prove to you that you are wrong.” My husband whispered in my ear, fondling my nipples through my silky dress.
“You are filled with revenge,” I mumbled with almost blurry eyes as a result of the pleasure I was getting already. This was just from his hands and the closeness of his body, and I was a mess already.
“Yes, baby.” He trailed kisses down my neck with his hands still doing justice to my boobs. “I don’t accept defeat.”
“Tell me about your movie,” Shawn commanded. He continued to play with my left boob while he moved his right hand into my inner thigh.
I had even lost track of what I was watching. As if on cue, A very intimate scene came up. The male lead pushed his woman onto the bed and climbed on top of her.
“You’ve not been turned up by him, have you?”
“Promise me you didn’t touch yourself to him fucking her?”
“You would never know.” My response had rolled out of my tongue before I realised what I had gotten myself into.
Shawn stood up with me. He raised my hands and in the blink of an eye, he took off my dress and tossed it to the floor.
My husband shimmered my panties to my lower thighs, after which he bent me over the recliner chair.
