                    Cassie’s Pov.
I don’t care if Kelvin was on a voice call, but I didn’t feel comfortable being naked while his brother conversed with him.
I rose to my feet and reached for my dress while I continued to pay attention to the conversation between the brothers.
“Of course, the apology won’t come from her mind. She’s just doing it because she has no choice. She cannot afford the money we are claiming for damages.” Shawn responded. He saw me putting on my dress, then helped himself down from the sofa. He reached for his briefs, put them on, then pulled me by my arm just after I paused the movie that was watching itself.
Shawn sat back on the sofa, then made me sit on his lap. He slid his left hand around my waist, holding onto me possessively with his right hand while he held his phone with the other hand.
“She apologised for causing trouble, but of course, she claimed she was drunk while she made that post, and she requested her followers to take down any derogatory words they might have said about you and Cassie.”
“I know it didn’t come from her heart. And I bet you that she was sane when she made that silly post. She didn’t have to apologise to me either. I just couldn't stand her disrespecting Cassie. Regardless, I hope to see her in court soon.”
“Have you gotten any updates from your lawyer?” Kelvin asked.
“No, not yet. I guess Stella is still reviewing her options.” Shawn mumbled with a stern face, slightly caressing my waist, down to my upper glutes. It still surprises me how good he was at multitasking.
“I wasn’t expecting the apology this soon. Perhaps she’s hoping you are going to change your mind when you see it.”
“Or maybe she is still relying on Dad’s words.” Kelvin said.
“Then that would be so sad to hear. Because there is no way in hell that I’m going to pardon her. I hope any future persons with such intentions learn their lesson.”
“Did you talk to Dad already?” Kelvin asked Shawn.
“No. I think I feel better not seeing his call because I know he is going to try to convince me.”
“Oh, maybe he doesn’t want to keep you worried.”
Shawn frowned a bit. “What’s going on?”
“He said Rhoda and her daughter came to see him today.”
My heart sank upon Kelvin’s statement. My life was going so peacefully that I almost forgot that those two existed.
“For what?” Shawn said in disgust.
Looks like my husband was even angrier than I was.
“Nothing new that you do not know about,” Kelv spoke.
“To discredit your wife and give reasons why you need to be with her daughter. They tried seducing Dad, too.”
Shawn heaved a deep sigh. I could see that he was really trying to control his temper. “It’s because of people like them I intend to make Stella pay so they can learn not to mess with what’s mine.”
“Cassie is too kind. She doesn’t deserve to be in all of this mess.” Kelvin said. Shawn was about to respond to him, but he held back his words. I don’t know why.
“Don’t worry, I’ll take care of them,” Shawn mumbled.
As Shawn continued to discuss with his brother, I busied myself running circles over his chest while absentmindedly listening to their conversation. A sense of pride washed through me as I felt Shawn get less tense due to my touch.
I was glad to have such control over him.
My husband ended the call in no time. He tossed the phone aside, then turned his attention to me. He snuck his other hand to my waist, holding onto me possessively.
“If my Dad calls you, you need to ignore him.”
I frowned. “Why?”
“He knows you are my weakness, so he might want you to convince me to drop the charges against Stella.”
“He’s good friends with Stella’s parents, and this issue has caused so much burden to them.”
My heart melted. “Am I capable of influencing your decision?” I pointed at my chest. If I were an outsider, I would definitely be convinced that Cassie cast a spell on Shawn. I mean, why would he trust me so much when we had only known each other for a month? And to think he called me his weakness?
This feels like a dream. One that I felt I was going to wake up from very soon. I had nothing to offer Shawn, and yet, he had given me so much already and changed my perspective on certain things about myself.
“I’m not telling you this so you can mock me, but I don’t think I would be able to deny your request. No matter what it is about. But then again, how would I know when you hardly request anything from me? I spoke to the accountant today, and no dime is missing from your account.” He released one hand from me and started caressing my exposed lap.
“You are changing the subject.” I attacked, trying not to think too much of his hand that was roaming around my inner thighs.
“No, I'm not. You are just different. You don’t ask me for stuff and don't dare bring up your background as a defence.” Shawn warned. I knew he was referring to the fact that I married him to pay off my Dad’s debt.
“You feed me, you house me, I already have so many clothes; all thanks to you. I don’t need anything more, that’s why I haven’t touched your card.”
“It’s your card and I don’t care if you are being sincere, but it feels weird to listen to that. Hardly have I come across anyone who doesn’t want me to do anything for them.”
“So that’s not a good thing?” I asked.
Shawn shook his head. “I’m used to being a provider. I want you to have certain things so bad, but at the same time, I don’t wanna scare you away.”
I rolled my eyes at my husband.
“Don’t!” Shawn groaned, burying his hand in my inner thighs.
“You don’t have to impress me. You’ve taken care of what bothers me the most, which is the debt. You also made sure I’m comfortable in your home. If I need anything else, I’ll definitely ask you.”
Shawn nodded. “I know I gave you my word about not attacking your stepmom and sister, but I'm going to take that back. They can’t keep messing with you and dragging your name in the mud.”
I swallowed painfully at Shawn's intense stare.
“Lauretta wants you, so they are not going to give up,” I mumbled.
“Leave them to me!” Shawn snuck his hand under my little dress. “I will treat them accordingly.”
“Shawn!!!!” I groaned, but my voice came out as a moan instead. I couldn’t believe my body was already on fire.
"The flight is for 4 am. We’ve got a few more hours to explore before we start getting ready.”
“For now,” Shawn said while pulling down the hand of my dress, revealing my boobs. The switch was crazy. Just now, we were discussing something so important, and here he was, his eyes and voice were already filled with so much desire. “I just want to suck the hell out of these beauties” He squeezed my boobs “and make you cum.”
“4 am? I didn’t agree to c…….Where the hell are we even goi………….Fuck!!!!!” I moaned the moment Shawn took my left boob in his mouth, sucking as though he had been starved of his favorite snack.
My breath hitched when I felt his fingers rob circles around my clit.
