Since Zoe pulled off the signature move of Fox. Cheryl and Philip couldn't help but wonder if there was some connection between Zoe and Fox.
The moment it happened, Philip and Cheryl were stunned. They were lost in this speculation for a long time, unable to snap out of it.
In Cheryl's car, the airbags had already been deployed. Her vehicle was half-wrecked and was not going to make it back to the finish line.
But none of that mattered to Cheryl anymore. She was sitting in the driver's seat, still shaken by the life-and-death threat she had just faced and by the shock that Zoe had given her.
Neither Cheryl nor Philip would think that Zoe was the legendary international racer they admired, Fox. After all, Fox had never shown her face in the racing world.
Although everyone knew Fox was a woman, she had just appeared at the International Racing Championship not long ago. Cheryl and Philip thought she couldn't be here.
They believed that Zoe must be a huge fan of Fox, just like them. They thought, 'Zoe must have been imitating Fox, and she must have an incredible talent for imitation.
'Under the threat of death, she has pulled off Fox's signature move— the 360-degree, 200 mph lightning drift. It has to be that.' Thinking this way, Philip and Cheryl gradually relaxed.
Cheryl, who had just narrowly escaped from the clutches of death, no longer felt any anger or urgency towards Zoe. She was just catching her breath.
Zoe's blue Lamborghini whipped around the corner, shooting out of the camera's blind spot like Cheryl wasn't even there. The dismissal hit Cheryl with an odd rush of relief.
At the starting line, everyone was standing there, waiting for the result from the blind spot of the surveillance cameras. Just a while ago, they had seen Zoe's sports car enter the blind spot, but no one had paid much attention.
After all, they didn't expect a country bumpkin would overtake Cheryl and Philip, who had won countless races.
"Here it comes!" someone in the crowd shouted. Everyone turned their expectant gazes forward.
A sports car was the first to emerge from the blind spot and enter the sight of everyone present.
"Is it Cheryl coming back?" Eunice asked excitedly.
But when people saw clearly which car was in the lead, everyone was stunned.
It wasn't Cheryl's black Maybach, nor was it Philip's fiery red Ferrari. Instead, it was Zoe's blue Lamborghini. At the final sprint, Zoe was in first place.
One exclaimed, "Oh my God, what's going on here?"
Another asked, "What happened in that blind spot we couldn't see? Why is Zoe in the lead?"
Someone shouted, "Look at Zoe's Lamborghini. It's so fast. It's like it's got a rocket booster. It's amazing."
The crowd suddenly became very excited. The scene fell into chaos. Everything happened too suddenly, and everyone present was too shocked to react.
The reality that Zoe had overtaken Cheryl and Philip and was heading for the finish line hit Eunice like a python. It drove her into a state of frenzy.
She thought with disbelief, 'Why? How could this be? What exactly happened in that blind spot just now?'
Even when Zoe's blue Lamborghini supercar crossed the finish line, no one had seen Cheryl and Philip's cars come into view. Finally, someone realized something was wrong and said, "They must have had an accident."
Another chimed in, "There's definitely something off."
One shouted, "Quick, call the emergency tow truck! Something must have happened!"
The crowd grew restless.
Three minutes later, Philip's car finally made it back to the finish line. He briefly recounted what had happened in the blind spot but deliberately left out the fact that Zoe had pulled off the Fox's signature move.
Soon, ambulances and tow trucks rushed to the scene. They rescued Cheryl from the edge of the cliff and took her to the hospital.
