The shocking words spread across the entire scene. Everyone present tensed up in an instant, staring in disbelief at what was happening. Eunice was stunned on the side.
A group of the top racers from Clusia not only bowed deeply to Zoe but also called her Fox. It was so unbelievable that it left everyone in shock.
Even without a microphone, the shouts carried across the venue, loud and unmistakable, reaching every corner and every ear.
The onlookers thought, 'Zoe, who had just come back from a small town, is the legendary Fox. How could this be possible? It can't be.'
Philip also found the news too absurd. He quickly stepped forward to explain, "Henry, Mr. Miller, I think there's been a misunderstanding.
"Zoe is just a fan of Fox, like me. We all imitate Fox's driving skills because we love her, but that doesn't mean Zoe is Fox."
As soon as Philip spoke, everyone around seemed to understand. They thought, 'It was probably something Zoe did in the blind spot of the race surveillance that got captured by satellite monitoring. It led Henry and the others to mistake Zoe for Fox.'
Eunice also stepped forward to clarify Zoe's identity. She said, "Henry, I'm Eunice, a student at Highcrest University. This is my sister. She just likes racing a bit, not even at an amateur level.
"Besides, she grew up in a small town. While Fox has won countless championships at the World Racing Championship. So she can't be Fox."
This made Henry and Brian frown slightly. Looking at Zoe herself, she had an indifferent expression, as if she were an outsider who didn't understand what they were talking about.
Brian thought, 'Can it be that we got the wrong person?' He suddenly felt a bit embarrassed. He quickly tried to backpedal by blaming Henry.
He said, "Everyone, sorry about this. Henry has always had a bit of an issue with his eyes, which is why we disturbed everyone. Henry, let's go."
But Henry didn't argue with Brian or turn to leave. His eyes were firmly fixed on Zoe. He asked again, "You are Fox, aren't you?"
Faced with the question, Zoe finally stood up. And under the tense and expectant gazes of the crowd, she smiled and said, "Fox?"
At the sound of her voice, everyone held their breath, their hearts in their throats. Eunice's hands clenched tightly into fists.
The next second, Zoe chuckled and spoke playfully, "I'm just an ordinary person who recently came back from a small town. How could I be Fox?" Her voice was calm and light.
Eunice looked at Zoe with a shocked expression. She was taken aback. She thought, 'Why doesn't Zoe, with her bold personality, claim to be Fox? Why is she acting so modest?
'If it were me, I would have claimed the identity first. After all, with this identity, I can meet many top figures. Even if I were found out, it would only be beneficial.'
Eunice was puzzled as to why Zoe, being arrogant, denied it.
"I was so scared. Honestly, for a moment there, I really thought Zoe was Fox," someone said, relieved.
Another chimed in, "I mean, this girl doesn't look old enough to be Fox. When Fox first appeared internationally, she was just a kid. It definitely can't be the same person."
The crowd all breathed a sigh of relief. Zoe had a faint smile on the corner of her lips. She remained silent.
The Clusian Racing Association members had arrived so confidently, thinking they'd cornered Fox. After Zoe denied the identity, they instantly deflated. They thought, 'All our excitement and the grand spectacle we created turns out to be nothing more than a misunderstanding.'
As the birthday party ended, Zoe and the students from the honors class left amidst the noise.
Standing in place, watching Zoe's retreating figure, Henry still insisted on his judgment. He said, "It's impossible. She must be Fox. I saw that satellite footage. With my knowledge of Fox, no one else could have done that."
Brian, standing beside Henry, said, "Although I don't like you, I think your intuition is right this time. After all, the signature move of Fox isn't something just anyone could learn.
"Even if she's not Fox, she must know Fox. Or maybe she's someone who's inherited Fox's skills."
After the racing drama ended, everyone's lives returned to normal. Soon, there was a response to the last recruitment for Shawn's military camp. As expected, Zoe was selected. And the training for new recruits in the war zone began immediately.
Thinking about being able to get close to Shawn's camp and seeing Shawn now and then made Zoe's heart flutter.
Unlike ordinary girls, her excitement wasn't because of admiration for Shawn, but because she was one step closer to eliminating Shawn.
After receiving the news, Zoe left the Evans residence and hailed a taxi.
"Hey there, you're heading to the military camp, right? It's not a place for a girl like you," the talkative driver said.
But apparently, Zoe wasn't in the mood for small talk.
Seeing that Zoe wasn't responding, the driver decided to keep quiet. But before long, he couldn't help but speak up again, "Strange, those sports cars have been following us the whole way. I feel like they're chasing us."
Not long after the driver finished speaking, several supercars sped past the taxi at lightning speed. They forced the driver to slam on the gas, sweating profusely. The driver said, "What kind of gangster movie is this?"
Zoe remained motionless, her expression calm as she lazily lifted her gaze.
Several people got out of the sports cars. As expected, Henry was the leader. Under everyone's gaze, Henry walked up to the taxi and knocked on the window.
Seeing that the person approaching didn't seem to be there to cause trouble, the driver let out a sigh of relief and quickly rolled down the window.
This gave Philip a clear view of the composed Zoe sitting in the back seat.
"I told you, you've got the wrong person," Zoe said indifferently. Her voice was even colder than before.
"I can't possibly mistake Fox's driving skills," Henry replied assertively. His eyes, sharp like a hawk's, were fixed on Zoe, waiting for her response.
After a brief silence, Henry sighed softly. He didn't forget the main reason he had come to find Zoe.
He said, "Even if you're not Fox, your driving skills are more than enough to make you an excellent professional racer. I formally invite you, on behalf of the Clusian Racing Association, to join us.
"Would you be willing to become a member of our racing association?"
