"Everything can be checked through the Ludwig family's surveillance. Once you see it, the truth will be clear," Zoe said indifferently.
As she spoke, she grabbed a random laptop from the table, opened it up, and entered the surveillance code right in front of everyone.
Soon, the surveillance footage of the Ludwig family's party popped up on the screen.
Seeing this, Eunice quietly let out a sigh of relief. She thought Zoe actually had some real evidence.
She thought, 'If all Zoe could do was pull up the surveillance footage, then she was just wasting her time. Sophia had already seen this coming and had a top hacker wipe all the hotel footage earlier.
'There shouldn't be anything left on the drive now.'
Sure enough, when Zoe accessed the system and tried to pull up the footage from last night, every single video mysteriously vanished.
"Without surveillance footage, how are we supposed to believe you?" Herbert stepped forward, looking surprised.
Jacob leaned in for a look and immediately lost his temper, shouting, "Zoe, what a dirty trick. Did you have someone wipe the footage just to cover up your secrets?"
Both of them were completely on Eunice's side, trusting her without question.
However, Zoe just sneered and said, "It's okay. The lost data can be restored."
Jacob was a top-tier hacker, and when it came to data recovery, there was no one more qualified.
However, after Zoe made her suggestion, Jacob looked at the data on the screen and shook his head. "No way. This surveillance data has been wiped way thoroughly. Even with my skills, there's no way to get it back."
He just assumed that he would be the one handling the recovery.
Hearing what Jacob said, Eunice finally relaxed. After all, in the Evans family, his skills in hacking and computer tech were unmatched.
He was famous throughout Jelonsburg as a top-tier hacker, and if he couldn't restore the data, then no one else could.
Just as everyone was convinced it was hopeless, Zoe let out a soft chuckle. "Who said you were the one we needed to recover the footage?"
As soon as she finished speaking, surprise flashed across Jacob's face. He clearly hadn't expected her to say that.
Charlie's eyes went wide in shock. "Zoe, are you saying that—"
Before he could finish, Zoe had already taken action. She typed across the laptop keyboard at lightning speed.
The computer let out a series of soft beeps as data from the surveillance footage started running at full speed.
Zoe tapped steadily on the keyboard, her fingers flying over the keys as lines of command codes streamed across the screen.
She was even more professional than Jacob, who was supposed to be the family's hacking expert.
Jacob, who had started out looking indifferent, was now gaping, completely stunned.
As Zoe restored the lost data bit by bit, bringing it back to its original state, Jacob finally lost his composure. "This is insane."
He blurted out in disbelief, "The drive was trashed badly, yet she actually recovered it."
He had to admit that he could never pull off a move like that.
Jacob's words made Sean and Charlie both crowd around, eyes wide with shock. "Did she really recover it?"
It was only then that Eunice finally started to panic. She thought, 'No way. Can Zoe really recover the data?
'Damn, look what you did, Sophia! The hacker you hired is worthless.'
Trying to pump herself up, she couldn't help but say, "Zoe, what's done is done. My situation can't be changed.
"If you just admit it and apologize to me, I can forgive you and let go of everything you did to me."
Zoe glanced at her and thought, 'Listen to that. What a noble and kind statement! Anyone who didn't know the truth might think I was the one in the wrong here, not Eunice.'
Zoe sneered, still typing on the keyboard with her beautiful fingers.
Every line of code under her hands seemed to turn into a string of musical notes, dancing across the screen.
Seeing Zoe like this, Charlie couldn't help but feel sorry for her. He said, "Zoe, are you sure you can do this? Don't push yourself too hard. If you can't fix this, I'll find another hacker to help."
"No need," Zoe replied firmly. She had just typed the final string of code, and success was within reach.
Clara snorted and pulled Eunice into her arms, softly reassuring her, "Don't be scared, Eunice. I believe you. Some people are just bragging."
Clara was willing to trust Eunice, but Eunice herself couldn't shake her guilt.
Eunice was genuinely terrified that Zoe might dig up something nasty. If the data was recovered, things might be worse. Having no other choice, she stood up and hurried to pour Zoe a glass of water.
She said, "Zoe, you've been working so hard to get to the bottom of this for me. You must be exhausted, right? Here, have some water and take a break."
However, before Eunice could hand the glass to Zoe, she pretended to trip, stumbling forward a couple of steps.
The glass of water went straight into Zoe's laptop, spilling all over it.
Everyone thought the laptop was surely ruined, and that the recovered data would be lost for good.
Right at that critical moment, however, just as the water was about to hit the laptop, Zoe reached out without even looking up and caught the glass Eunice dropped quickly.
The water inside sloshed right up to the rim, but not a single drop spilled.
Zoe raised an eyebrow, sneered, and said, "Eunice, you must be more careful. The data is almost restored, but you nearly ruin everything with a glass of water. I'm sorry, but it makes me wonder whether it was an accident or part of your plan."
Just a few casual words, and suddenly everyone's attention was on Eunice.
Eunice clenched her fists in frustration, lowered her head, and mumbled timidly, "No, Zoe, it was just an accident. I didn't mean it."
Just then, Charlie said excitedly, "Look, the data is really restored. It's the surveillance footage from that night.
"Zoe, what you did is amazing. Now we can finally get to the truth."
