Eunice was stunned when she saw Zoe's face pop up on the TV. She thought, 'Why is Zoe at a racing event in Yaniston? How is that even possible?'
While she was still shocked, Charlie suddenly snorted and said to himself with a grin, "Wow, these reporters really know how to pick their shots. Zoe is so lucky—she actually got caught on camera by the news!"
He added, "If I had known, I would've gone with her to Yaniston too. Not only could I cheer for Zoe, but I might've even seen Fox in real life!"
His voice sounded full of regret. Clearly, Charlie hadn't connected Zoe with Fox yet.
But even though Eunice hadn't made the connection either, she was still totally stunned.
She thought, 'Since when did Zoe start racing? How did she end up representing Clusia in such a big international race?'
From the sofa, Charlie's voice rang out again. "I gotta call Zoe right now! Since she's there, she's gotta shake Fox's hand for me and get an autograph. That would make up for me not being able to go."
Charlie dialed Zoe's number right away. As soon as the call connected, he stared at the TV broadcast and blurted into the phone, "Sis, did you see Fox yet? Is Fox a handsome middle-aged guy, or a curvy, stunning woman?
"I'm so jealous you get to see the real Fox up close! You gotta get me a signed photo and a selfie with Fox, okay?"
Zoe had her phone on speaker, and since she was surrounded by reporters at the scene, everything Charlie said was already live on TV for everyone to hear.
He could even hear his own voice looping on Yaniston live broadcast on the TV.
Charlie thought, 'This is bad. What if Fox heard that, too? That's so embarrassing. What if Fox thinks I'm just some crazy fan?'
Charlie was so embarrassed, but then, a reporter's voice came from the TV.
He asked, "Fox, was that your brother calling you just now? He didn't know you're Fox?"
"Fox, you actually kept your real identity a secret from your own family?"
"From the way your brother sounded on the phone, he seems like a huge fan of yours. How do you think he'll react when he finds out his sister is the legendary Fox? Will he be shocked?"
As the questions kept coming from the TV, Charlie felt like he'd been turned to stone—like someone poured superglue all over him, freezing him in place.
He was stunned, speechless, totally in shock and disbelief.
He thought, 'Wait, what did I just hear? My sister is actually the legendary Fox? That's why the TV kept showing her close-up.
'My idol is actually my own sister. Oh my god. This has to be a mistake or a hallucination.'
For a moment, Charlie was so shocked he couldn't even think straight. He just stood there in front of the TV, wishing he could jump in and ask Zoe what was going on.
He wondered, 'How did this even happen? How did my own sister suddenly turn out to be Fox?'
But Charlie was always the energetic type. He snapped out of it pretty fast and started yelling in the living room.
He shouted, "No wonder she could copy Fox's driving skills so perfectly—she is Fox! My sister is actually the legendary Fox. Oh man, just thinking about it makes me so proud."
Eunice saw this. Ever since her reputation was ruined and her scheme against Zoe was exposed in front of the whole family—she hadn't gone outside. Partly because she didn't have the courage, and partly because she was grounded.
Her reputation had been destroyed by Zoe. Even her foster mother, who used to treat her like her own, never mentioned taking her to Jelonsburg to show her off anymore.
Everyone had given up on her. She'd been totally forgotten, and it was all because of Zoe.
Zoe was shining on international TV, representing Clusia's racing team overseas, and even winning first place.
Eunice thought, 'Those foreigners actually believed that Zoe was the legendary Fox. There's no way someone as amazing as Fox could be Zoe.
'Zoe must be pretending for fame. Daniel said that Zoe bribed Paul.
'But Charlie just ignored all that and kept believing Zoe was Fox. What a joke.
'Zoe, you ruined me, so you better be ready to pay the price. I won't let you go easy.
'I'll make sure you feel what it's like to be humiliated. No, I'll make you suffer even more than I have. I want you to know what it's like to fall from heaven straight into hell.'
With that thought, Eunice rushed upstairs and called Sophia. The moment Sophia picked up, she immediately started scolding Eunice about what happened before, "You've got some nerve calling me.
"Weren't you the one who promised everything would go smoothly? I almost got investigated because of you, while Zoe didn't even get a scratch."
Eunice swallowed her pride, gripping her phone so tight her nails almost broke the skin. Still, she forced herself to stay calm—Sophia was her last hope.
Eunice said, "Sophia, I told you before. Zoe isn't easy to handle. That was why I needed your help.
"You saw how Shawn treats her. He's clearly on her side. If you still want to marry Shawn, you'll have to work with me."
Sophia, as spoiled as ever, snapped, "Are you threatening me?"
Eunice said, "It's not a threat, it's a deal, Sophia. Zoe is super clever and careful. Without me, you wouldn't even get close to her, let alone take her down. And don't underestimate her—she's not weak."
Sophia scoffed, "How tough can she be? I'll just hire a better hitman than those useless mercenaries you found. I don't believe I can't get rid of her."
Eunice said, "That won't work. Even Zack couldn't beat her. What kind of assassin do you think could? Plus, she's always with Shawn, so there's never a good time to act."
Sophia fell quiet, thinking it over. She might have a temper, but she wasn't stupid. "Alright, so what's your plan? How do we deal with her?"
Seeing Sophia take the bait, Eunice said, "Now's the perfect time. Zoe just went to Yaniston. It's hard to do anything in Clusia, but if something happens to her in Yaniston, it won't come back to us."
Sophia's face darkened instantly. She snapped, her voice cold and sharp, "Where did you say that bitch went?"
"Yaniston. What's wrong?" Eunice answered, sounding confused.
Sophia was so angry that she almost crushed her phone.
Zoe actually went to Yaniston too. Sophia had been secretly watching Shawn since he left for his mission. But she never thought Zoe would show up there too.
Sophia thought, 'Damn it! Did they go together?
'They're probably having sex in some hotel room.'
The thought made Sophia so mad.
Sophia hung up and told her bodyguard, "Book me a flight. I'm going to Yaniston!"
She wanted to make sure Zoe paid for this. She was dead set on seeing Zoe die with her own eyes.
