As soon as Zoe said that, Eunice burst out laughing, and the people standing next to her couldn't help but join in too.
Eunice smirked, "Zoe, you really must be out of your mind. You were already talking nonsense last night. I thought you'd come to your senses after a good night's sleep, but you're even more outrageous today."
She added, "If the higher-ups at Marlowe Group heard you, they'd definitely come after you for it."
The Marlowe Group employees standing with Eunice all snickered mockingly.
"Eunice, your sister is a real character. She says she's our new chairwoman? Then I must be Walther!"
"And I must be the richest person in the world!" someone else chimed in.
The whole group cracked up, and Eunice laughed along with them.
Seeing all this, the security guard immediately pegged Zoe as a troublemaker. He stepped in front of Eunice and her group, blocking Zoe's way. "Miss, please leave right now, or we won't be so polite," he warned.
"Yeah, get lost already," someone jeered.
"Get out of Marlowe Group, or don't blame us if things get ugly."
Just as the group was making a scene, Aaron, the supervisor of Eunice's department, stormed over, barking with authority, "What's going on here? Why are you all just standing around? Get back to your posts!"
Eunice immediately pointed at Zoe and spoke up, "Aaron, you're here at the perfect time. This is my sister, but she doesn't even work here—she just forced her way in.
"As an employee, I have to treat everyone the same, even my own sister. According to company policy, she needs to be removed."
She sounded like she really cared about the company. The regular employees nearby, eager to get on her good side, quickly chimed in.
"Yeah, she's not one of us. She doesn't even have an employee badge."
"Company rules say she should be kicked out right away."
Everyone here had fought tooth and nail to get into Marlowe Group. Being an employee was something they were genuinely proud of.
So, when Zoe refused to leave, it felt like a slap in the face. If anyone could just walk in casually, their pride would seem pointless. That was why they hurried to complain to Aaron.
As soon as Aaron heard this, his face darkened.
"Our company doesn't allow outsiders. Who are you, and why are you here?" Aaron looked down at Zoe, his tone cold and condescending.
But when he finally got a good look at Zoe's face and recognized her, his whole expression changed.
Eunice and her group saw this and could barely contain their excitement.
They thought, 'Aaron's about to lose it! Everyone knew how tough he was. Just this morning, he went off on an employee for the tiniest mistake, threatening to fire anyone who messed up again.
'When it comes to someone barging into the company, he'd totally blow his top.'
But right when Eunice and her group were absolutely sure Aaron would yell at Zoe and have security throw her out, Aaron suddenly looked so scared. He was practically sweating bullets.
In front of everyone, Aaron hurried over to Zoe and said respectfully, "Miss, I just saw you earlier—you're a special guest of Marlowe Group. I can't believe they tried to kick you out. I'm really sorry."
He added, "I'll make sure to teach these clueless employees a lesson later."
Zoe just shot Aaron a cold look, clearly not recognizing him at all.
Aaron was so respectful to her because he had seen Walther treating her with the utmost respect.
He immediately realized Zoe was no ordinary visitor.
If she got mad, it wouldn't just be the employees getting fired—he'd probably lose his job too.
Desperate to fix it, Aaron bowed respectfully to Zoe. "May I ask what brings you here today? Are you looking for Walther? He's upstairs right now—would you like me to let him know you're here?"
Zoe didn't say a word. Eunice and her group were all just standing there, totally stunned, eyes wide in disbelief.
Eunice thought, 'W-what? Zoe is a special guest at Marlowe Group? How is that even possible? How could Zoe be a special guest here?'
The employees next to Eunice were just as shocked. Aaron's attitude was way too real to fake.
One of them couldn't help but lean over and whisper to Eunice, "Eunice, isn't that your sister? You really didn't know she's a special guest at Marlowe Group? Now we're the ones getting in trouble."
Eunice's eyes went wide, her face burning with anger and embarrassment. She thought, 'Why does Zoe always have to steal the spotlight wherever she goes?
'Even when she brags and says things that are totally impossible, there's always someone ready to cover for her and make her look good.'
As Eunice glared at Zoe like she wanted to burn a hole through her, everyone else was already getting ready to swallow their pride and apologize to Zoe.
Eunice couldn't hold it in anymore. She turned to Aaron and asked, "Are you sure you're not mistaken? My sister grew up in a small town for over ten years. How could she possibly know Walther?"
Eunice shot Zoe a look full of contempt. "Zoe, I know you've made a lot of money through some shady means, but you can't just pay off Aaron to help you fake it just to show off."
Eunice added, "We're not idiots. Who would believe such a ridiculous lie?"
As soon as Eunice said that, everyone around suddenly understood that Zoe must have bribed the higher-ups. Otherwise, an ordinary girl like her could never get into Marlowe Group.
"Aaron, isn't this against company policy? We've got a ton of secret info here—if you just let some outsider walk in and steal our data, you'll be the one in trouble."
"Yeah, you can't just ignore the rules for your own reasons. Kick her out now and we'll pretend none of this ever happened."
As the crowd kept shouting, accusing him of taking bribes, Aaron's face went darker.
"All of you, shut up!" Aaron roared, his anger instantly silencing everyone.
Aaron said, "I'm not bribed. Walther personally welcomed her as a special guest and invited her into his office. I saw it myself."
