All the big shots at Eminence Nexus knew exactly what Zoe was like. If she didn't want to do something, nobody dared say a word. To avoid ticking off Zoe, everyone automatically stepped aside and gave her space.
Medusa glanced over at the group and said bluntly, "What's wrong with you all? Can't you see Queen's in a bad mood? If you want her advice, then get moving and do some work! Or do you think this place cleans itself?"
Getting the top dogs of Eminence Nexus to clean up post-battle. If word of this ever leaked out, it would shake the international community to its core.
But that was the pull Firefox had. Even the most powerful figures at Eminence Nexus were left in awe, willing to roll up their sleeves and do the grunt work for her without complaint.
As soon as Medusa spoke, the bigwigs realized it was better to get busy than risk upsetting Zoe. They thought, 'Who knows, maybe if Queen's in a good mood later, she'll help us out with our problems.' So they all scrambled to get to work.
Mandy had only gotten into Eminence Nexus because of Zoe. Now she was just another face in the crowd, helping out with the others.
But all she was assigned to was cleanup on the outskirts, so she hadn't even caught a glimpse of Zoe since this all began.
This was Mandy's first time taking part in a big group operation with Eminence Nexus, and the sheer scale of it nearly made her faint from shock. Thankfully, someone took her under their wing, so she managed to get through it unscathed.
Even though Mandy never got anywhere near the main action, let alone saw any of the brutal fighting, just being present and helping clean up around the old castle was already enough to leave her stunned.
The castle that had looked so grand and imposing just a little while ago was now almost completely reduced to rubble. There was a massive crater blown open in the center, and the mushroom cloud overhead still hadn't faded away.
Mandy busied herself hauling away pieces of broken machinery.
There was a hierarchy in Eminence Nexus. The real international big shots, the ones who got to deal with Zoe, numbered only a few hundred at most.
But for regular members like Mandy, there were tens of thousands. And right now, all of them were here, working like ants to wipe out every last trace of new research tech before anyone else could get their hands on it.
Mandy muttered, "Firefox is seriously impressive. No wonder so many people are dying to join Eminence Nexus, and no wonder she's the Ruler."
Mandy's words made the coworkers around her burst out laughing. One said, "That's nothing. This is just a warm-up. You should've seen it when the Ruler lost her temper; she wiped an entire country off the map."
Another chimed in, "But honestly, the scale of today's operation just shows how mad she is."
Someone said, "I have no idea what that person was thinking, daring to cross the Ruler. They've got nerves of steel, or a death wish."
The group kept chatting and joking with Mandy, which left her even more stunned.
Still in shock, Mandy couldn't help thinking of Zoe. Zoe gave up her spot for Mandy in that competition, which was the only reason Mandy was here to see all of this.
Mandy felt a wave of regret. She thought, 'Honestly, everything I am enjoying now should have been Zoe's. It really should've been her standing here instead, since she's stronger and could do something for Eminence Nexus.'
Just then, Mandy suddenly spotted a girl surrounded by a crowd, passing by not far away. Even though Mandy only caught a glimpse of the girl's profile, she found the girl looked just like Zoe.
