"What could Sophia possibly have done? She's been at home this whole time. If you have something to say, spit it out. If not, don't blame us for kicking you out," Alex said.
Zoe's eyes stayed locked on Sophia, her gaze so cold that it sent a shiver straight down Sophia's spine.
The next second, right in front of everyone, Zoe's eyes turned bloodshot as she shouted, "What did she do? Sophia colluded with an arms dealer from Yaniston and slaughtered 350 orphans and 23 teachers at St. Haven Orphanage. You don't believe me?
"Want to see what happened to those kids? Fine, let me show you exactly what Sophia has done."
With that, Zoe coldly pulled a stack of photos from her pocket and tossed them into the air. The photos fluttered down like snowflakes, scattering everywhere.
Anyone who caught a photo only needed one glance before recoiling in horror, their bodies shaking as they screamed and trembled, "What is this? It's terrifying. There are severed limbs everywhere..."
People in Jelonsburg's elite circle had always lived in a protected bubble. They'd never seen a battlefield, never witnessed death up close.
And now, these images were so raw, so bloody, and so brutally real.
Soon after, screams broke out one after another. The pampered heiresses, who had never seen anything like this, were so terrified they collapsed to the floor.
Even the adults, who thought they'd seen it all, turned pale.
That was because the kids in those photos had died in the most horrifying ways. Some were missing limbs, others had their heads twisted at unnatural angles. Even with dried blood on their faces, their eyes still showed a desperate longing for life.
But even that last glimmer of hope for survival had been cruelly ripped away.
Just then, a photo happened to drift down and land on Sophia's shoulder.
When Sophia picked up the photo, she was met with the horrifying image of a child whose head and body were separated.
The child's eyes stared straight ahead, filled with unwillingness and accusation, making Sophia shriek in terror and fling the photo to the floor.
The rest of the White family had seen the photo too.
Every one of them wore a complicated expression.
Sophia's heart skipped a beat, but she forced herself to stay calm. Looking at Zoe, she said steadily, "Zoe, stop spouting nonsense. I don't even know any big shots. You're accusing me of murder. Do you have any proof?
"Even the police need evidence to solve a case. You can't just throw a bunch of photos of murdered kids at me and say I did it. By that logic, couldn't I just say you killed them?
"If you don't have any evidence, then I'll sue you for scaring me and threatening my personal freedom."
Seeing how confidently Sophia stood her ground, no one was about to take Zoe's word for it.
The White family's shock quickly turned to anger. They trusted Sophia completely. In their eyes, she had always been the perfect daughter.
Samuel immediately stepped in front of Sophia, shielding her as he said, "You heard her. You can't just throw out some random evidence and accuse someone. Sophia is innocent. Clearly, you've been fooled."
"Exactly. You owe Sophia an apology," Alex added, firmly taking Sophia's side.
Simon stood right there with him, backing up every word.
Eric's voice was icy. "This is ridiculous. Mrs. Evans, get your daughter out of here right now, or the White family won't let the Evans family off the hook."
Anna, still protecting Sophia, said, "Since this is all just a misunderstanding, have her apologize to Sophia. Once she does, let's just move on."
In truth, Anna was giving Zoe a way out. She hated drama and didn't want things to get any uglier.
But right then, a sharp, unyielding voice cut through the room. "You want evidence? Fine. I'll give it to you."
Zoe sneered, pulled out her phone, and tapped the screen. In an instant, damning evidence that could send Sophia straight to hell echoed through the hall, reaching the ears of every powerful figure in Jelonsburg.
