Zoe caught Samuel's punch with one hand, grabbed his arm with the other, and gave it a sharp twist.
Samuel screamed in pain.
Zoe barely dodged Alex's kick aimed at her calf. Then she sprang up, spun to the side, and counterattacked, stomping down hard on his leg.
That stomp was brutal. Even if Alex's leg wasn't broken, the bone was definitely cracked.
Their fierce team attack didn't even make a single move against Zoe. Everyone still present, along with the entire White family, was left in shock. Simon just stood there, completely stunned.
"Take this," Simon shouted. Seeing both Samuel and Alex taken down by Zoe, he knew he couldn't back down. He quickly grabbed some food from the table and hurled it at Zoe when she was not looking.
He was trying to use the food as a distraction, hoping to catch Zoe off guard and get a shot in.
But Simon was still way too inexperienced.
Zoe just pulled a random person in front of her as a shield, then swung that person straight at Simon like a weapon.
Before Simon could even react, he was hit head-on and sent sprawling to the floor, arms and legs flailing.
This scene left everyone wide-eyed. The three of them were supposed to be so strong, but in front of Zoe, they looked like little kids fighting, completely powerless.
The three of them were in total shock.
Samuel said, "How is she this strong?"
Alex said, "I thought she was just a small-town girl. I never imagined she'd be this terrifying."
"Even our martial arts coach wouldn't stand a chance against her..." said Simon.
They spoke one after another. All of them were gripped by a bone-deep fear of Zoe.
Sophia's face went pale with fear when she saw her three usually unbeatable brothers all taken down by Zoe. She frantically shouted at them, who were sprawled on the ground, "Guys, get up. I'm innocent. I don't want to die."
Sophia thought, 'Zoe is the top mercenary soldier. If I had to go up against her, I would be dead for sure.'
Simon was pinned down and couldn't move. Alex was still in shock, and only Samuel's eyes flashed with confusion.
He thought, 'I had people look into Zoe. She is supposed to be just a small-town girl, nothing special. But how can she be so strong?
'No, even if she has trained in the military for a while, there's no way she could take down the three of us.
'Something is definitely off. There must be a mistake somewhere.'
As for Marvin and the rest of the family, after seeing Zoe's terrifying strength with their own eyes, they all started edging back, trying to put some distance between themselves and her.
They were terrified that if Zoe lost her temper, she'd start attacking everyone indiscriminately. The older folks especially couldn't handle a beating like that.
"That's enough," Eric suddenly snapped, his face icy with anger. "This is outrageous. It's bad enough you accused Sophia, but now you've hurt my three sons. Zoe, is it? Do you really think we are just going to let you walk all over us?"
Anna quickly grabbed Eric's arm, trying to calm him down. "Don't be angry. This is all just a misunderstanding. I really think it's all a misunderstanding."
Anna always tried to believe in the best in everyone. She was so gentle that she truly thought this was just a misunderstanding. In that tense moment, as the atmosphere in the room grew more and more suffocating,
Zoe didn't pay the White family any attention at all, steadily making her way toward Sophia.
As Zoe drew closer, Sophia didn't even dare meet her bloodshot eyes. All she could do was shrink back behind Anna.
Anna shielded Sophia, backing away as she watched Zoe warily, afraid she might lash out. Still, she tried to reason with Zoe, "Ms. Evans, I think there's a misunderstanding. Maybe we should wait until everything's clear before acting. You're being a bit too hasty."
Sophia, who had been frantically backing away under Anna's protection, suddenly lost her footing in the tense standoff and landed hard on her butt.
With Anna no longer shielding her, Sophia found herself face-to-face with Zoe, whose eyes were blood-red and ice-cold, like something straight out of hell.
That look was absolutely terrifying, like a hunter lurking in the darkness, a mercenary ready to drag her into the abyss, and a butcher on the battlefield.
Maybe it was Zoe's gaze that was just too frightening. Sophia only glanced at her and instantly started shaking all over.
Suddenly, a faint hissing sound broke the silence, followed by a nasty stench. A wet patch quickly spread on the floor in front of Sophia.
That meant Sophia had actually peed herself from sheer terror.
She'd wet herself. A perfectly normal person, scared so badly by someone else that she lost control right there. The whole scene left everyone in the room stunned.
The entire White family was in shock, and even the guests who hadn't left yet were frozen, staring in disbelief.
Zoe was already face-to-face with Sophia when Anna suddenly threw her arms out, blocking Zoe's path. "If you really want to kill Sophia, you'll have to go through me first."
The tension in the room was palpable. Samuel, Alex, and Simon had already lost to Zoe, which meant no one here could stop her now.
Eric had lost all his former authority. His voice shook as he tried to calm Zoe down, "Don't do anything rash. Even if my wife and daughter did something wrong, they don't deserve to die. If you have any demands, we can talk this out."
Zoe let out a cold, almost manic laugh. "She doesn't deserve to die? Now she regrets it? Too late. Tonight, Sophia will pay with her life for the three hundred-plus children from my orphanage."
Zoe didn't hesitate for a second. As she spoke, she flipped her hand, and a silver dagger appeared, glinting coldly.
"No, please," Sophia screamed, finally losing it as the knife came at her. She was so terrified. She didn't even care that she'd wet herself right there.
But it was too late. Zoe was about to slash across Sophia's neck with the dagger in her hand.
At that critical moment, a sudden shout rang out from outside the White villa. "Wait."
Samuel screamed in pain.
