They believed she was capable of anything now—and trusted that she would be able to help.
"Do you need my assistance?" At that moment, Shawn stepped out of the car as well. His striking appearance and natural aura of authority immediately drew the attention of Zoe's three brothers. They had heard everything he just did.
Zoe didn't say anything, but her brothers began speaking over each other to thank Shawn.
"Mr. Ludwig, we'd be extremely grateful for your help!"
"Yes! Mr. Ludwig, thank you in advance."
Their attitude only made Zoe's expression grow more serious.
Among her five brothers, Zoe knew Sean and Charlie the best. Sean was calm and intelligent, while Charlie was an exceptionally skilled driver.
For someone to not only catch up to Charlie's speed but also outwit Sean, it meant the enemy was far from ordinary.
But Zoe had no intention of telling any of that to Herbert, Jacob, or Gerald.
"I'll have all surveillance footage from the nearby area during that time pulled up immediately." Before Zoe could say anything, Shawn had already made the decision.
"That's great!" Herbert, Jacob, and Gerald all let out a sigh of relief. At that moment, they thought maybe Shawn was a good match for Zoe.
Just then, another car came speeding toward them. With a sudden screech of brakes, it stopped not far from Zoe.
The loud braking sound drew everyone's attention to the vehicle. The car doors opened—and the White brothers stepped out.
"What are they doing here?" Gerald frowned at the sight of them.
"Do they think they haven't caused Zoe enough harm already, and now they've come to take revenge together?" Herbert and Jacob immediately stepped in front of Zoe. The more they had hated Zoe in the past, the more protective they were of her now.
Seeing their reaction, the White brothers offered only an awkward smile.
"Don't misunderstand—we're not here to cause trouble," Alex said.
"Yeah, we came to ask for Zoe's forgiveness," Simon explained.
Only after his two brothers had spoken did Samuel get to the point. "We saw that something seemed to be wrong here. Is there anything we can help with?"
Samuel was best at reading a room. While driving over, he had already noticed that the Evans brothers looked pale and anxious—it was obvious they were facing serious trouble.
However, their good intentions were met with nothing but cold sarcasm from the Evans brothers.
"Aren't you something—slap us in the face and then offer a candy. You think we're that desperate?"
"Who knows what kind of shady tricks you're up to this time!"
"Leave, or we'll make you leave."
Samuel wasn't bothered by their hostility. He simply turned to Zoe and said, "We truly want to make up for the harm we've caused."
"Yes. We realized we were wrong and want to do what we can to make things right," Alex added.
Only Simon still couldn't bring himself to let go of his pride. "Just think of it as us being bored and looking for something to do, if it helps."
At that moment, Zoe finally spoke—but she ignored the White brothers entirely and turned to Gerald instead. "Any other clues?" she asked.
Hearing this, Gerald quickly pulled a gold-embossed card from his pocket and said, "We found this in the back seat of their car. I don't know if it's related to Sean and Charlie's disappearance, but I took it just in case."
Zoe picked up the card and saw a single gold-embossed letter on it: Q.
She immediately understood—it was Team Quiver again. She suspected this was all targeted at her.
Off to the side, Shawn's expression also grew grim when he saw the letter.
The research base had just barely avoided being destroyed by this organization, and now Sean and Charlie had gone missing. The only connection between the two events... was Zoe.
Zoe's gaze hardened, eyes bloodshot. She said coldly, "They're coming for me."
