He kept yelling, convinced that his country would always have his back.
Unexpectedly, the diplomat slapped him across his face and said, "You're probably gonna face some serious punishment when you get back. Guards, take him away."
The other diplomats quickly began taking away their own people, blaming them for embarrassing their nation in front of foreigners.
The other foreign soldiers were so terrified that their legs gave up and they backed off. Some had wet themselves in terror, while others collapsed entirely.
They had never seen such a powerful woman who knocked down elite warriors from different countries. Her strength was far beyond their imagination.
From that moment on, all of them came to the same realization—Shawn wasn't someone they wanted to mess with, and neither was Zoe. They figured it was best to keep as far away from those two as possible.
Shawn strode over to stand beside Zoe. The foreign soldiers didn't dare even look up at them, while the Clusian soldiers thought the two of them looked perfect together.
After the diplomats rounded up their men and sent them back to their countries, the immediate danger at the Clusian Institute of Science and Technology was finally over.
Someone would be sent to clean up the mess. Meanwhile, Joyce and the others were escorted out of the Clusian Institute of Science and Technology.
As they were leaving, Joyce and Robert saw a crowd gathered together but couldn't see who was at the center. However, she had a strange feeling that the girl she cared about was right there among them.
"Joyce, what are you looking at?" Robert asked.
"Nothing. I'm just thinking what a close call that was," said she.
"Yeah, thank God Shawn came back. Otherwise, who knows what kind of mess we would be in?" the soldier exclaimed, still buzzing with excitement.
Hearing this, Joyce couldn't contain her excitement. "Is Shawn back? Does that mean Zoe is back too?"
The soldier said, "You mean Mrs. Ludwig? Of course, she came back with him. She was incredible. She made those punks drop to their knees and beg for mercy on her own."
Hearing that, Joyce exclaimed, "Did you hear that, Robert? Zoe is alive. I told you Clusia is blessed."
The others couldn't hide their joy either because Zoe's return meant there was finally hope to solve all those tough problems they had been facing.
Some of them wanted to turn back for Zoe, but it was too late. They had already left the Clusian Institute of Science and Technology.
Meanwhile, a car sped straight toward the gathered crowd, only stopping when someone blocked its path.
Five handsome young men came out of the car. It was the Evans boys. They got a call saying Zoe was here, so they dropped everything and rushed over immediately.
Sean said urgently, "Let us in. We're here for Zoe."
Charlie shouted, "That's right. We want to see Zoe. She's our sister."
"Let them in," Shawn said in a deep voice.
The soldiers immediately stood aside.
They watched as the soldiers made way for them, and there, at the end of that path, stood an aloof girl dressed all in black. It was Zoe, the one they had been missing for so long.
Sean and Charlie reacted most intensely because they had been blaming themselves for Zoe's death, unable to get a single restful night's sleep all this time.
Therefore, they were overjoyed to see Zoe safe and sound.
"Zoe!" Charlie shouted and immediately sprinted over to her.
The other boys snapped out of their daze and rushed after him. In an instant, they surrounded Zoe and pulled her into a crushing group hug.
Zoe felt speechless. She should have been happy to have five brothers who cared so much about her, but hugging in public just felt awkward.
"Zoe, I'm glad you're alive. This is the best thing ever."
"Thank God you're back."
"I swear I'll never mistreat you again, Zoe. I'm just so glad you're alive."
Zoe was just about to shake her brothers off, but seeing how heartbroken they looked, she stopped herself at the last second.
