In truth, she was secretly hoping Hawk and his men would just kill Zoe right then and there—end it once and for all.
Hawk found the Evans family's words hilarious and couldn't help but sneer at himself. With a mocking grin, he taunted, "Hey! You hear that? Your own family wants you dead. What's the matter—cat got your tongue?"
Confronted by her family's accusations and the jeers of the crowd, Zoe suddenly laughed. Her laughter was chilling, her voice dripping with disdain as she sneered, "No one alive can kill me!"
"You all hear that? This woman's got some nerve!" One of the foreign fighters burst out laughing. "Time to teach her what real pain feels like!" Without hesitation, he charged straight at Zoe.
The foreign fighter was clearly a pro boxer—every punch he threw was fierce and brimming with power.
The Evans family members froze in silent terror at his aggressive stance, too scared to make a sound. They thought, 'If that punch connects, Zoe's head will be smashed to pulp!'
Her brothers exchanged determined glances and, in unison, rushed forward to stand protectively in front of Zoe.
Interlocking their arms, they formed an impenetrable human wall. Even if it meant certain death, they were resolved to buy Zoe a glimmer of hope for survival.
Zoe thought to herself, 'I never expected my five brothers would go this far for me. How could I not be moved? But the more they do for me, the more determined I am—no way am I letting anything happen to them!'
"Get out of the way!" Zoe barked.
As the foreigner's fist came within inches, Zoe shoved her brothers aside with both hands, then launched a lightning-fast flying kick that sent the man hurtling backward.
It all happened in a flash, leaving the entire Evans family dumbfounded.
The foreigner who was sent flying looked utterly bewildered. He didn't even know what had hit him.
"You pathetic loser! Can't even take down a woman? Move aside. I'll handle this myself!" Hawk snarled, kicking his useless teammate away as he strode straight toward Zoe.
"Boss, no need to dirty your hands with this. We've got it." Two hulking foreigners rolled up their sleeves and advanced toward Zoe.
When the Evans family saw the hulking builds of those two men, they couldn't help but break into a cold sweat for Zoe. 'This time, Zoe's definitely done for,' they thought in despair.
Her brothers were about to step forward, but this time, Zoe was quicker than all of them. Before the two men could get close, she had already rushed ahead.
Then the entire Evans family witnessed a scene that chilled them to the bone. Zoe moved like a gust of wind, appearing before the two in a flash. Her hands shot out, clamping around their throats with terrifying force.
With a sickening crunch, she slammed them to the ground. The two flopped like fish out of water, twitching weakly before going completely still. She killed them.
"Sh-she killed someone!" Clara shrieked, her voice shrill with horror as she witnessed the scene, unable to hold back any longer.
Eunice clung to Clara's arm in terror. 'I never could have imagined Zoe would actually kill someone without blinking!' she thought, utterly shocked by Zoe's ruthlessness.
"Charge!" someone shouted.
All of Hawk's remaining men, except Hawk himself, rushed forward in a swarm.
Zoe stood stone-faced, unmoving as the men charged at her. They swiftly surrounded her, cutting off all escape routes.
"Sean, we have to go save Zoe now!" Charlie blurted out, unable to hold back any longer after seeing this.
Sean clamped down on Charlie's wrist with an iron grip. He knew rushing in would be suicide. If even Zoe couldn't hold these attackers back, they'd all be as good as dead.
"To hell with this! If you guys don't go, I will! I'm not afraid to die!" Charlie roared. Seeing more than a dozen people surrounding Zoe, he wrenched free from Sean's grip and charged straight into the crowd toward Zoe.
The other brothers, fired up, rushed forward together.
Even though Sean was usually the calm and collected one, there was no way he'd let his brothers rush in without him.
Seeing all five of her brothers rush forward and realizing no one was watching their side, Eunice urged in a panic, "Dad, start the car now! Let's get out while they're distracted!"
