Zoe didn't really mind, so she followed him in. It was a high-end store carrying both men's and women's fashion.
Almost immediately, Zoe spotted a gray trench coat that caught her eye. She thought Shawn would look stunning in it, so she headed straight for it.
Meanwhile, Shawn's gaze had landed on the women's section. Since they were here to choose Zoe's dress for the reception, he naturally wanted to pick out something that suited her best.
The store happened to have a silver-gray evening gown—elegant in its simplicity, with a strikingly high slit.
Shawn wasn't choosing it just to see Zoe in a revealing dress. He simply figured that if Zoe were to pick something herself, she'd definitely choose a dress that let her move freely.
A high-slit gown fit that requirement perfectly. If she ran into danger, she'd be able to move easily.
"I'd like her to try this one on," Shawn said.

They spoke at the exact same time, their voices overlapping in perfect sync.
Zoe looked over at the gown in Shawn's hands. Shawn glanced at the coat in hers. The two shared a smile.
Soon, Zoe walked over. "Let's try them on together."
Since the trench coat was an outer layer, Shawn could just put it on without heading to the fitting room.
Zoe, on the other hand, went into a changing stall. She looked at the gown Shawn had picked out and couldn't help but chuckle.
She thought, 'So this guy liked this kind of style, huh? He should've said so sooner—it's not like my thighs are off-limits.'
Zoe quickly changed into the dress and stepped out of the fitting room.
She walked up to Shawn and did a slow spin in front of him, deliberately revealing one long, shapely leg through the high slit in the skirt—just enough to tease.
She thought for sure Shawn would sneak a glance at her, but instead, he calmly draped the coat over her leg.
"Oh, I get it. You want a private viewing," Zoe teased, using the moment to flirt.
Shawn gave her a helpless look, not sure how her thoughts had taken that turn.
"This store looks nice—let's take a look," said a tall, glamorous woman who had just entered the boutique.
Two friends walked in beside her, and behind them followed more than a dozen bodyguards. With that kind of entourage, anyone could tell she was someone important.
The woman stepped into the store, gave a cursory glance around, and then her eyes landed squarely on Shawn.
Zoe, being a woman herself, instantly picked up on the interest in the woman's gaze. But she showed no reaction. Instead, she decided to sit back and see what this lady was up to.
