Aileen demanded angrily, "Who? Who's that woman?"
"Apparently, she's his fiancée," he replied.
Aileen exploded with rage upon hearing this. She suddenly recalled installing a pinhole camera in this room. Without hesitation, she rushed over, retrieved the device, and yanked out its memory card.
When the footage of Shawn and Zoe having sex played from the memory card, Aileen flew into a rage.
Aileen hurled the device to the ground with a loud crash and snarled, "What the hell is this? Why is she here?"
Damn right, no one knew how Zoe managed to track Shawn down. And judging from the state of the room, it was obvious Shawn and Zoe had already gone all the way.
Aileen's elaborate scheme ended up benefiting someone else—what a cruel irony. Aileen couldn't find this even remotely amusing.
Aileen barked at her men, "What are you standing around for? Go after them now. Bring the two of them back to me, or you'll regret your worthless lives."
Though her scheme had backfired and benefited Zoe, Aileen refused to give up. Aileen was determined to get Shawn back and, preferably, she'd drag that woman along with him, too.
Aileen sneered to herself, 'I'll have a group of men service that woman properly. Once she's been defiled, I'd like to see if Shawn would still want her.
'Then I'll use my family's influence to put pressure on Shawn's business. Let's see if he can still resist surrendering to me under such relentless pressure.'
Aileen's plan seemed flawless in her mind, but reality dealt her a crushing blow.
As soon as the group forced Zoe's car to a halt, Zoe stepped right out of the car, facing them head-on.
The men eyed Zoe coolly, clearly not taking her seriously. "Listen up. Grab both of them and bring them back, no screw-ups. Ms. Carleton said the man's hers, and the woman's ours."
"Whoo-hoo. Ms. Carleton's so kind."
"Damn, this woman's smoking hot."
"I wanna get my hands on her right now."
The thugs cheered wildly, acting as if Zoe were already at their mercy.
Shawn stepped out of the car. "Let me handle this," he said, his voice firm.
Thanks to Zoe's acupuncture skills and medical expertise, which accelerated the elimination of drug residues from Shawn's system, he was able to recover so quickly.
But his body's cells had just survived an intense battle against the drug residues, leaving him visibly weakened.
"Forget it. I will handle this." Zoe couldn't bear seeing her man being mocked as a weakling.
But Shawn stopped her in her tracks. "You should lean on me at times like this," he said, gazing intently at Zoe, his expression earnest.
'Lean on him?' Zoe wondered. 'That concept vanished completely the moment I learned how cruel this world could be.'

"Go back and tell your boss," Shawn said coldly. "If she dares to try any more underhanded tricks, I'll make sure she pays dearly." With that, he motioned Zoe into the car, and they drove off.
In the car, Zoe suddenly chuckled and said, "Shawn, looks like your emotional control is on the fritz today."
Shawn turned to look at Zoe's radiant profile. "Hey, I'm only human. Is it so strange for me to lose control sometimes?"
