To everyone's surprise, Brody tried to sneak up on Zoe from behind.
Zoe stood motionless. But as Brody approached, she simply raised her leg and sent him flying with a single, powerful kick.
It all happened in a flash. Before anyone could react, Brody was already on the ground, barely breathing.
"Who else dares to challenge me?" Zoe's icy gaze swept across the crowd.
No one else dared. In this tense atmosphere, not a soul uttered another word.
"Sorry for the unsightly display. Our boss would like to invite you both for a drink," a man suddenly appeared before them with a polite smile, extending the invitation.
Zoe glanced at Shawn. Since it was his idea to come here, she figured he clearly had business to handle.
"Lead the way," Shawn said.
The man led Zoe and Shawn into a reception room—the space stood completely empty, not a single soul in sight.
"Please wait here, both of you. Our boss will arrive shortly," the man said, polite enough as he had someone prepare refreshments for them.
"Now can you tell me why we're here?" Zoe turned to Shawn.
"For a wanted man," Shawn said.
Shawn was here on a mission, and he had to bring that wanted man back. He had received intel that the man was hiding in this underground fight club.
Zoe was speechless. Shawn had told her that this was a date, but he'd actually dragged her here to catch a criminal.
"You ruined my date—you have to make it up to me," she said with a pout.
"Don't worry, I'll make it up to you. You plan our next date—I'll do whatever you say without a single complaint," he promised.
When Zoe heard this, a mischievous glint flashed in her eyes. 'Perfect,' she thought. 'If he's leaving it up to me, I'll make sure to teach this workaholic a proper lesson.'
Just then, a man appeared before them, clearly the owner of the underground fight club. "Sorry to keep you waiting," he said.
Since this was Shawn's mission, Zoe simply stood back with a watchful eye, waiting to see how things would unfold.
"You two are clearly no ordinary fighters. Mind telling me who you are? Never heard of you around here before." The club owner immediately started probing into Shawn and Zoe's background.
Without a word, Shawn pulled out a wanted poster and placed it in front of the club owner.
The club owner picked it up, glanced at it, and his eyes widened as he stared at Shawn in shock. "You..."
"Need the bounty," Shawn said.
The club owner immediately replied, "Look, it's not my fault. That guy isn't with us anymore—he was taken to the underground auction and put up for sale as merchandise."
Shawn remained silent, coolly weighing the truth in the club owner's words.
But Zoe took a far more direct approach. With a single, powerful slam of her fist, she shattered every cup on the table—an unmistakable warning.
"We want the truth," Zoe demanded.
At this point, if the club owner still refused to tell the truth, Zoe's fist would be the next thing he'd feel. "Okay!" he shouted in panic.
"He's still here, but he's been a problem, so we had to lock him up. As for the rest..."
Shawn stood up abruptly. "Take us there."
"Look, I can't just hand him over for free," the club owner said, suddenly jacking up the price. "How about this—you two agree to complete twenty fights in my arena, and I'll give him to you. Deal?"
Shawn knew what kind of people he was dealing with and was about to agree.
But Zoe slammed the table again. "Rules are made to be broken. If you're going to jack up the price, you'd better ask if we're willing first."
The club owner froze for a moment. "He's in our custody—you wouldn't dare just snatch him, would you?"
"So what if I take him?" Zoe scoffed. If she wanted to, she could level this place in seconds.
Seeing Zoe refuse to play by the rules, the club owner shot to his feet. As he stumbled backward, several armed men burst into the room, training their guns on the duo.
The club owner snarled, his eyes blazing with anger. "Who the hell do you think you are, causing trouble in my place? One wrong move and I'll have my men put bullets through your skulls!"
Zoe sneered, "Let's see if my fists are faster than your bullets."
Zoe moved in a flash, catching the club owner's men completely off guard—but they still managed to pull their triggers.
