"Arranging surgeries simultaneously and bringing in the best doctors—that just proves these people are no ordinary clients."
"Right, I just noticed all the clients receiving organ transplants are from different ethnicities."
The doctors in white coats walked past where Zoe and Shawn were hiding, chatting as they went. Only after they were well out of earshot did Zoe finally emerge.
"Did you hear all that?" Shawn's face was grim. He had already suspected this auction was anything but ordinary, but he never imagined so many nations would be involved.
If they simply ruined this deal, they would have no idea how to deal with all those big shots. They couldn't just let those people die here.
If those important figures really died here, things could get out of hand—at best, it might trigger another war; at worst, it could even spark a world war.
Zoe noticed the grave expression on Shawn's face and knew exactly what he was worried about. 'If this international issue isn't handled properly, it could easily escalate into a major global crisis,' she thought.
She suddenly grabbed Shawn's hand, looking him straight in the eye. "Shawn, do you trust me?"
"Of course," Shawn answered without hesitation, his tone resolute.
"Then stay out of this," she said firmly. "I'll handle everything myself."
"No way! This is way too serious—I can't let you face the danger alone," Shawn said.
"If you trust me, stay out of this," Zoe said firmly, leaving no room for argument.
Shawn pulled Zoe into a tight embrace. "We're in this together now, aren't we?"
Zoe froze for a moment, caught off guard.
"If that's the case, we solve this together—no solo heroics," Shawn released Zoe and urged, "Come on, tell me your plan."
Zoe's eyes flickered with hesitation, but she stayed silent.
"You think I can't handle your ways?" Shawn asked.
"Yes," Zoe said. With Shawn being so honest, she had reason to hold back anymore.
"What do you think I am, a saint?" Shawn said. "All's fair in war—did you really think I became a legendary warrior just by playing fair?"
Shawn was no greenhorn—he'd seen his share of the world's cruelty, and he wasn't above getting his hands dirty himself. But he always put the greater good first, and that commitment merely served to mask his moral blemishes.
After exchanging a knowing glance, Zoe suddenly broke into a smile.
She said, "Since you're willing to drop your hero act in front of me, why should I hold back? So, here's my plan..."
Zoe laid out her entire plan to Shawn, who listened intently with furrowed brows.
Zoe waved her hand in front of Shawn's face and teased, "Are you scared?"
"Not quite. Your plan is flawless, but there's still one loophole. I think we can tweak it a bit here," Shawn said. Then he pointed out the weakness in Zoe's plan and suggested improvements.
After discussing, Zoe and Shawn realized that only by combining their ideas could they create a plan so flawless it was practically unbeatable.
"Let's split up," Zoe said, raising her hand for a quick high-five with Shawn before they headed off in separate directions.
Shawn took charge of stopping the organ transplants, while Zoe focused on sabotaging the security systems.
First, Zoe needed to take down the surveillance and power systems here. Then, she would stir up enough panic to drive all the guests out—so the auction couldn't go on.
The task seemed simple enough, but proved to be time-consuming and demanding.
Zoe slipped into a secure spot and hacked into the surveillance system with her phone, replacing every camera feed with the same looping footage.
