Exchanging glances as they walked, Shawn and Zoe realized they'd stumbled upon an even darker secret of the Underground Kingdom.
"Why are you so slow? Pick up the pace!" one of the people ahead barked impatiently.
Zoe and Shawn hurried forward and soon arrived at a large circular hall.
The circular hall was lined with rooms, and in the center, several hogtied figures were sprawled on the floor. Any time someone tried to get up, a guard would stomp over and kick them back down without mercy.
Seeing these people herded like cattle, Zoe and Shawn instantly understood—these were the "human inventory" about to have their organs harvested.
"Help!"
"Please, I don't want to die! I'm begging you, let me go!"
"Please, spare me! I'll do anything—anything at all! I don't want to die."

"Get out. The surgical team's coming," the OR supervisor said, shoving Zoe and the others out of the operating room.
The leader stood in the hall with his crew.
The man who led them here said authoritatively, "Wait here. Once the surgeries are complete, the patients will be brought out to you."
Zoe and Shawn exchanged a glance. The organ harvesting victims were already being led away—it was now or never.
Back to back, Zoe and Shawn moved with lethal precision. In mere seconds, they'd snapped the necks of the leader's entire crew.
Before the leader and the man in charge could even react, Shawn and Zoe were already upon them, each confronting one.
Shawn snapped the leader's neck, while Zoe held the man who led them here at knifepoint.
Zoe pressed the knife to the man's throat. "Speak! What is this place?"
The man asked, "Who are you? This is the Underground Kingdom's turf. Do you want to die?"
"We might die, we might not. But you? You're definitely dead." With that, Zoe drew her knife across the man's throat in one swift, merciless motion.
