Zoe had just returned to the hotel when she ran into Shawn, who was there to find her. "Where have you been?" Shawn asked.
Zoe grinned mischievously. "Got us a little surprise," she teased, pulling out a pack of condoms and handing them to Shawn.
Shawn had always thought Zoe was just teasing, but she actually went through with something this bold.
Shawn immediately stuffed the pack into his pocket. "Let's go back to your room."
"Yes, sir," Zoe said with a playful grin.
Together, Zoe and Shawn headed back to Zoe's room. Zoe lifted her hand and cupped Shawn's chin. "Wow, didn't expect you to be this eager."
"Enough jokes," Shawn said sternly. "I'm here to brief you on the Hunter Tournament rules so you'll be prepared."
Zoe's teasing left Shawn parched with desire. 'If it weren't for tomorrow's mission, I'd have taken her right here and now,' Shawn thought, his jaw clenched.
Seeing how serious Shawn was, Zoe stopped joking around.
"Save your breath," Zoe cut in with a smirk. "The only rule in the Hunter Tournament is—there are no rules."
Anything could happen during the training. Some even died during the training. Yet most crack under pressure long before death came knocking, quitting in despair.

Shawn studied Zoe intently. "You know about this?"
Zoe smirked, "What if I told you I used some tricks to get all the Hunter Tournament footage from the past few years? Would you believe me?"
Shawn believed her. Zoe absolutely had the skills to pull it off.
"Since you already know the drill, get some rest while you can," he said. "Once you step into that training ground, you can kiss a good night's sleep goodbye."
Zoe playfully wrapped her arms around Shawn's neck and pulled him down onto the bed with her.
Zoe pouted, "But I'm not sleepy at all, Mr. Ludwig. Are you sure you don't want to stay and keep me company?"
When a woman set her mind on seduction, it was a recipe for disaster. Just as Shawn was about to lose control, Zoe suddenly pushed him away. "Alright, enough teasing. Get back to your room."
Just then, a knock came at the door. Shawn had no choice but to rein in his urges.
Shawn walked over and opened the door to find Chase standing outside. "Target locked. Move out now."
Shawn turned back to look at Zoe. "Stay put."
"Don't worry, Mr. Ludwig," Zoe teased, blowing him a playful kiss. "I'll be squeaky clean when you get back."
Shawn was stunned for a moment.
Meanwhile, Sophia had slipped unnoticed into Aileen's room. Aileen shoved the man off her, not caring in the slightest that she was barely dressed in front of Sophia. "Well, aren't you just in time?"
Sophia looked on with mild disdain. She sneered inwardly, 'How dare a filthy woman covet a gentleman like Shawn? What a delusional fool. Sure enough, only I'm worthy of Shawn.'
"What's your plan targeting Zoe?" Sophia asked.
"You have seen it, right?" Aileen said dismissively. "The real danger starts tomorrow."
Aileen had already made arrangements. To take down Zoe this time, Aileen went all out. She dumped every last penny of her allowance into setting up this whole Hunter Tournament scheme.
Not that Aileen would bother explaining any of this to Sophia. She said, "Your so-called medicine was useless, and every one of your ideas was a total flop.
"Honestly, you're completely useless. Do me a favor and stop wasting my time. Don't show your face around me anymore."
Aileen had originally thought of Sophia as her strategist, but now she realized Sophia wasn't even half as sharp as she was.
'How dare this airhead look down on me,' Sophia thought, seething with anger. Yet outwardly, she forced herself to appear utterly deferential.
