It was well-known that Winnie was extremely difficult to deal with.
However, after taking a brief rest, she stood up, extended her hand toward Zoe, and announced in front of everyone, "Zoe, you're the first person I'm willing to admit defeat to. I acknowledge that you're stronger than I and barely worthy of Mr. Ludwig."
Zoe glanced at Winnie's hand before clasping it. The entire crowd erupted in excitement.
Winnie went even further and declared, "Listen up, everyone. From now on, Zoe is under my protection. If anyone offends Zoe, they're offending me, and I won't let them off the hook."
After this incident, Zoe's reputation at school was firmly established. Everyone knew she was the one who had defeated the school bully. From then on, people would give her a wide berth whenever they saw her.
The crowd on the rooftop began to disperse.
"Eunice, let's go too," Cheryl called out. But Eunice stood there, silent. Upon closer inspection, her face was extremely gloomy. "Eunice?"
Eunice was furious. She couldn't understand why things had turned out this way again. Every time, it was the same story.
'Why does Zoe always seem to have such good luck? It's as if she is supposed to be invincible and shine brightly. Now, even Winnie is impressed by Zoe. Why? All of this glory is supposed to be mine,' Eunice thought to herself.
"Eunice, I know you're angry. I am, too. Zoe is just so annoying. We really need to come up with a way to deal with her," Cheryl said.
Eunice clenched her fists. 'That's right. I have to find another way to make her lose everything and become the laughingstock of everyone,' she thought.
Eunice suddenly had a brilliant idea. She looked at Cheryl. "Zoe defeated Mr. Shelton, won Mr. Ludwig's favor, and now even Winnie is on her side. Maybe we should properly celebrate her achievements."
Cheryl's mouth dropped open in surprise. "Eunice, are you really that shaken? I think Zoe's just been lucky. You're the most amazing genius in my eyes."
"Cheryl, our friendship is the most important thing. But Zoe is my sister. No matter what, we should have this celebration," Eunice said, feigning gentleness.
Cheryl sighed. "Eunice, you're too kind. Alright, I'll make the arrangements."
Eunice sent Cheryl off to organize the dinner, while she made other arrangements.
As long as Zoe took the bait, anything that happened afterward would be blamed on Cheryl. It would have nothing to do with Eunice.
Before Zoe could leave the classroom, Eunice stopped her. "Zoe, don't leave yet."
Zoe stopped in her tracks. "What is it?"
"I know there have been misunderstandings between us. I've been jealous of you and always tried to trip you up. I know I was wrong. This time, I genuinely want to mend our relationship.
"So we've prepared a dinner to celebrate your victory over Mr. Shelton and your newfound romance with Mr. Ludwig," Eunice said sincerely.
Zoe's eyes met Eunice's for only a second before she knew something was off. It seemed like a trap.
"Zoe, you wouldn't refuse, would you? Many classmates will be there. Everyone wants to take this opportunity to apologize to you," Eunice said, feigning hurt. "Zoe, are you unwilling to forgive me?
"But this is everyone's heartfelt gesture. If you refuse, it might—"
"Fine," Zoe agreed without hesitation. 'I want to see what trick Eunice has up her sleeve this time,' she thought.
Eunice was stunned. She had prepared many more lines, but Zoe had agreed so readily.
"When do we leave?" Zoe even prompted. Eunice felt like she was dreaming. 'Is today just going too smoothly to be true?' she thought.
"Right now. They should all be there already." Eunice quickly led Zoe out of the teaching building, fearing she might change her mind.
On the way, Eunice tried her best to emphasize how everyone regretted their actions and wanted to reconcile with Zoe.
Zoe didn't respond at all. She was there just to see what Eunice was up to.
"Here we are, Zoe," Eunice said as they got out of the taxi, and she pointed to a building in front of them. Zoe looked up at the structure.
The building itself was unremarkable, but the name caught Zoe's attention, Seabay Hotel.
'This place isn't even near the sea, yet they chose such a name. Interesting,' Zoe thought to herself.
As Eunice led Zoe there, she didn't make things difficult for Zoe for the entire journey. Every time Eunice thought about the surprise she had prepared for Zoe, she felt energized.
"Zoe, the private room is over there. They should already be there. Let's hurry," Eunice said. As Eunice had mentioned, many of Zoe's classmates had already gathered in the private room of the club. They had all been invited by Cheryl and Eunice.
"Zoe, everyone's here waiting to celebrate with you," Eunice said, pushing Zoe into the crowd.
The group was already having a great time, and even though Zoe wasn't particularly liked, they didn't let it dampen their spirits. Instead, they pulled Zoe into their fun.
To play along with Eunice and see what she was up to, Zoe spent the whole time pretending, patiently interacting with these people.
Eventually, the crowd started pressuring Zoe to drink.
"Zoe, have some more."
"Zoe, you have to drink."
"Zoe, let's have a toast. I bet your tolerance isn't as good as mine."
The classmates who had already had too much to drink saw Eunice toasting Zoe and immediately gathered around, insisting on continuing to drink with her.
Zoe went along with it, drinking glass after glass. For her, the alcohol was like water; she wouldn't get drunk even if she drank a hundred cups.
"Zoe, you've had too much. Have some juice to sober up," Eunice said, bringing over a glass of juice and handing it to Zoe.
Without a word, Zoe downed it in one go. She continued to accept drinks from everyone, her attitude so accommodating that it made people question what they were seeing. The once arrogant and annoying girl seemed to have changed completely.
Eunice, however, sat in the corner with a sinister smile on her lips.
'It would be great if Zoe got drunk. With the drug I prepared, Zoe will definitely regret coming here today,' she thought.
Sure enough, the next moment, Zoe suddenly collapsed.
"Zoe's had too much to drink. I'm really sorry, I'll take her to the adjacent lounge to rest," Eunice said.
Everyone was too caught up in the fun to pay attention, so Eunice took the opportunity to help Zoe out of the private room.
Next door was a matching lounge. Eunice led Zoe into the room to rest. Seeing that she was unconscious, Eunice's face immediately lit up with a triumphant smile.
"Zoe, you never thought you'd have a day like this, did you?" Eunice said before leaving the room.
In this room, Eunice had already prepared a hidden camera. If anything scandalous happened inside, Eunice could completely ruin Zoe's reputation.
Feeling triumphant, Eunice took out her phone and was about to call the people she had hired for money.
As she was dialing the number, a sudden blow struck the back of her head. Thud. Eunice collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
