Matthew didn't understand why, but when he saw Sophia being hit, he instinctively stood up for her. Without thinking, he shoved Lulu away and shielded Sophia behind him.
Matthew snapped, "What the hell are you doing? How dare you hit her! Are you out of your mind?"
The sight of Matthew shielding Sophia stabbed at Lily's heart.
She clenched her fists again, a wave of vindictive satisfaction washing over her. "Serves her right," she thought.
Lily thought viciously, "That little bitch Sophia deserved every bit of that beating."
Lulu snarled at Sophia, "Why did I hit her? Because of this heartless bitch—my sister almost died because of her! And now she still refuses to come donate blood. Sophia, you asking for a beating? Look what you've done to my sister—she ended up like this all because of you!"
Lulu always acted with impunity at the hospital, relying on her husband being an attending physician and Lily being Matthew's unattainable first love. The junior nurses didn't dare to cross her.
Sophia froze for a moment, then Skye's words flashed through her mind: "If someone hits you, hit them back twice as hard."
Lulu was too far to hit, so Sophia acted swiftly—she grabbed Lily by the arm and yanked her close.
Without hesitation, she landed two sharp slaps across Lily's face.
"Ah!" Lily cried out in pain as she collapsed to the floor. Lulu immediately rushed to help her up.
Lulu snarled, "Sophia, you bitch! How dare you hit my sister? You're dead meat!"
Lulu lunged at Sophia like a raging beast, claws bared to tear into her.
But Sophia was no fool—she immediately bolted.
Lulu rushed up, grabbed Sophia by the hair, and shrieked,
"Everyone, come and see! Look at this heartless bitch!"
"She did this to my sister! Now that my sister needs her blood, she just runs away—is she even human?"
"If it weren't for her, my sister wouldn't be bedridden every day—where's the justice?"
"And now she's trying to skip out on donating!"
As the head nurse, Lulu's booming voice instantly drew everyone in the hallway. In no time, a curious crowd gathered around her.
Lulu dragged Sophia back into the ward, only to see Lily sobbing and clinging to Matthew.
Lulu reached out, snarling, "You bitch! How dare you hit my sister? I'll make you pay for this!"
Just as Lulu raised her hand to strike, a hand shot out and seized her wrist. "Who the hell are you?" Skye's cold voice demanded.
Lulu looked up at the woman who had suddenly appeared before her. Her aura was overwhelmingly terrifying, her gaze sharp and ruthless—like endless ice that could drag you straight to hell.
Lulu couldn't help but shiver uncontrollably, the atmosphere turning cold and tense under Skye's intimidating presence.
Skye stood poised in a black cheongsam, radiating a beauty both stunning and aloof. Her cherry-pink lips parted slightly as her eyes darkened.
"You're dead!" Skye snarled. With one brutal twist came a sickening crack—Lulu's wrist snapped under her grip.
"Oh God! My hand! My hand!" Lulu shrieked, her face contorted in agony as she clutched her hand and howled in pain.
Lulu doubled over, grimacing in excruciating pain, hugging her injured hand and wailing uncontrollably.
Lily was stunned. "Who is this woman?" she thought, completely taken aback.
"So beautiful! Her presence is so overwhelming, it takes my breath away!"
Skye pulled her sister Sophia into her arms, gently caressing her swollen, reddened cheek. Her eyes blazed with murderous fury as she demanded, "Who? Who dared to lay a hand on you?"
Seeing her sister Skye arrive, all Sophia's pent-up grievances came flooding out. After being bullied by these people, she burrowed into Skye's embrace, pointed accusingly at Lulu, and choked out, "It was her! She's the one who hit me."
"Guards, pay her back tenfold!" she ordered coldly.
"Yes, ma'am."
The bodyguards moved swiftly, delivering a series of sharp slaps—the cracks of palm against flesh resounding through the hospital ward.
After ten brutal slaps, Lulu was beaten speechless and crumpled to the floor, blood gushing from her mouth as a crimson-stained tooth tumbled out.
Lily stood frozen in shock, her face draining of all color as she gaped at the scene before her.
Matthew never expected Skye to show up, either.
"What the hell is going on here? What are you doing? Who the hell are you people?"
A man burst into the room and gasped when he saw his wife lying on the floor. He rushed over in a panic. "Lulu! Oh my god, what happened to you? Who did this? Who dared to hurt you? I'm calling the police!"
Skye said nonchalantly, "Go ahead and call."
Her offhand, indifferent remark sent shivers down the doctors' spines. "Who the hell is she?" they wondered.
Skye fixed her icy gaze on Matthew. "Didn't I warn you to stay the hell away from my sister? Now you dare abduct her. How many lives do you think you have left?"
Matthew felt an icy chill crawl up his spine, terror gripping his entire body. He stammered, "Y-you... you!"
Only then did Lily realize that this woman was actually Sophia's sister. "Since when does that nobody Sophia have such a powerful sister? How could I not have known about this?" she thought, her mind reeling with shock and envy.
Skye held out her hand. Lauren instantly produced the documents.
Skye said coldly, "Lily, Lulu, Eric Evans—you three conspired to deceive my sister, forcing her to donate blood every month to Lily, who was perfectly healthy. Spare me your excuses. I've already submitted all the evidence to the police commissioner."
Upon hearing this, all the color instantly drained from Lily, Lulu, and Eric's faces—they looked as if they'd seen a ghost.
Eric attempted to argue back, snapping, "And just who the hell are you? This is my hospital—how dare you spout such nonsense here, smearing my reputation! Get out immediately! I'm the doctor here, not you. What gives you the right to question me?"
Matthew froze in shock. "No illness? How could Lily not be sick?"
"You despicable bastard! How dare you commit such misconduct in my hospital? You're fired!"
The hospital director stormed in as soon as he heard the news and, without a word, landed a brutal kick on Eric.
Eric panicked when he saw the director arrive. "No, no! Director, it's not like that! Please, don't listen to their lies—I'm innocent, I haven't done anything!"
The hospital director flung the evidence right in Eric's face.
What a fine pair you two make! Abusing your authority for personal gain—if Ms. Sky hadn't come today, I'd never have known how utterly depraved you are, not even fit to be called human. You're both fired!
The hospital director nearly collapsed from shock when he saw the evidence.
Eric and Lulu, abusing their authority as doctors, systematically defrauded patients by ordering unnecessary tests, falsifying medical records, and charging exorbitant fees.
"Ms. Sky, please rest assured. These despicable individuals will be handed over to the police without fail. They won't get away with this."
Skye shot Lily a cold, contemptuous look. "I've rarely seen anyone fake it as well as you do. You love pretending to be sick, don't you? Then spend the rest of your life in a hospital bed."
Lily shuddered violently, her blood running cold at Skye's words. With a desperate thud, she dropped to her knees.
Lily cried out in panic, "No! Not me! I didn't know anything—it was all Lulu, yes, all her! I swear, I knew nothing about this!"
Lulu never imagined that after all she'd done for her sister, Lily would stab her in the back. Rage boiled inside her, but with her face swollen beyond recognition, she couldn't utter a word.
All she could do was glare at Lily with murderous eyes.
