The whole scene unfolded faster than a dropped mic.
Before anyone could process what was happening, Olivia stood alone on stage - the last domino left standing.
Her eyes locked onto mine, then darted to the embassy officials behind me. The once-smug host transformed instantly, bowing so low her nose nearly scraped the floor. "I...I was duped by Wendy too! Please accept my sincerest apologies, Miss Warner!"
I shook my head with a humorless chuckle. "That's not an apology, Olivia. That's just power bending your spine."
Stepping back, I let her bow hang in empty air. "If evil gets a free pass with just 'sorry,' then every powerful bully will keep trampling people. Where's the justice in that?"
The color drained from Olivia's face. For several excruciating seconds, the woman who'd ruled the stage stood frozen - her cheeks burning scarlet. Then her knees buckled dramatically.
"Seriously?" I blurted as she crumpled to the floor. "That's your play?"
Olivia's eyelids fluttered open...then snapped shut again when she heard me, like a bad actress in a soap opera.
With an innocent shrug to the millions watching live, I turned on my heel. Behind me, the studio erupted into chaos - crew members screaming for medics, equipment crashing.
Outside, I found Wendy trapped in a human hurricane. Dozens of furious citizens - job seekers, overworked laborers - had surrounded her like sharks smelling blood.
"Filthy nepo-baby!" someone roared.
"Which corrupt bastard spawned you?" another shouted, as an elderly woman spat directly in Wendy's face.
"MY SON'S IN THE HOSPITAL FROM YOUR 24/7 SHIFT DEMANDS!" the woman shrieked, grabbing Wendy's hair. Her meaty hands rained down slaps like a butcher tenderizing meat. "YOU CALL THIS 'BLESSING'? THEN CHOKE ON IT!"
By the time Wendy crawled into her car, her designer clothes hung in shreds, her face swollen like overripe fruit.
In the coming weeks, the executives scrambled like roaches when the lights come on - drowning in shareholder fury, hemorrhaging sponsors. One wrong move, and they'd be the next heads on the chopping block.
The disgraced "It's You" show got canceled faster than you can say "lawsuit," its entire crew tossed out with the trash.
But Olivia? That cockroach always finds cracks to crawl through. She resurfaced on some bottom-feeding "current affairs" show, playing victim with crocodile tears.
"I was FIGHTING for truth!" she wailed to the cameras. "Some people are just too sensitive! They've destroyed an honest woman's reputation!"
Same old song. Different garbage stage.
