                    LUCA POV
"Why are you always getting hurt?"
Matthias asked as I applied the small bag of ice to my throbbing head.
"No, the real question is why is it always your fault?" I asked him only to get an eye roll in return.
"Are you secretly trying to kill me?" I whisper and he narrows his eyes.
"If I were, you'd never know," He smirks, gently pulling my tie a little tighter and dusting off my shoulders.
"Damn hon, this was supposed to be a dress casual event, not a fashion show," he mutters as he checks me out, slightly blushing when he reaches my eyes again, seeing me watch him.
"You know, I was wondering whether or not I could pull it off, but I think that look just answered my question," I said, previously debating my choice of black leather boots, tight Burberry plaid trousers, a white button-up shirt, a skinny black tie, and the leather jacket he gave me on our second date.
"You could probably wear a chicken feed sack to the party and we'd all think it was a fashion statement," He says, not taking his hands off my shoulders as he stepped closer to me. I kept one hand on the bag of ice while the other wrapped around his waist, the soft cashmere felt as soft as he is.
Something about the way he looked at me made my heart beat so hard against my chest that I could nearly hear it in my ears and as his face drew closer to mine, I could see every glimmering sparkle of gray in his beautiful light hazel brown eyes.
The spark that had gone missing for the past four years had returned and in full force and there was no stopping it now.
"I'm pretty sure a chicken sack wouldn't impress what could be my future in-laws as much though," I told him and he shook his head with a devious smile as if he knew something I didn't know.
I already fainted from the first surprise, if he had another one I might just have a heart attack or go into shock.
"Mmm, it wouldn't show off your good parts either," he sighed into my lips as he carefully drew me in with every alluring breath before finally taking a bite. Kissing me with a different kind of passion I wasn't used too but I was still addicted nonetheless.
A knock on the door disturbs our kiss and we broke away with the same amount of confusion striking both of our faces.
"You expecting someone?" I asked and he shook his head.
"Not that I know of," He whispers and I pop open the kitchen drawer, grabbing a rather large knife.
"Stay here," I command to both Matthias and Cooper, letting Houston come along with me as we slowly approach the front door.
Another set of knocks follow and I start to unlock the bolted hardwood door, while Houston arches his back and prepares to pounce on my command.
I slowly peel back the heavy door and instantly drop my knife in shock.
"Sophia?" I said her name as she appeared at the door with a small bouquet of red roses mixed with holly berries and evergreens and she looked at me in surprise.
"Luca? Oh, I'm so glad to see you, for a second I thought I had the wrong house," She giggles and I quickly swing open the door.
"I'm just a little surprised to see that you made it is all, Houston safe," I tell our guard dog and he sits, letting Sophia even pet her while I kicked the knife behind a potted plant.
"Sorry we've just run into a few security issues in the past, please come in," I invite her deeper inside as I close the door. The clicking of her heels was an unfamiliar sound that even had Cooper trotting towards us.
"Oh, he's super cute too! I love dogs! I never knew Thomas had two," She coos as she rubs the top of Cooper's head and he sits instantly, appreciating any kind of love and attention.
"They're so well trained too, wow! Your house is so big and beautiful!" She gasps as she reaches the living room and Matthias was leaning against the kitchen counter, waiting to catch sight of our unexpected guest. His face drops when he saw Thomas' sister was with me.
"Matty! Oh, it's so nice to see you!" Sophia cried as she rushed over and hugged him at full force. Matthias gives me a look as he accepts her unexpected hug and looks to me for advice but I had none to give.
"Um, these are for you, I was just commenting on how beautiful your house is!" She squealed as she let go of him and handed him the bouquet of flowers. He took it with a surprisingly genuine smile and I joined them around the table.
"I forgot that you haven't actually been to our house but yeah it's really nice. Thomas actually bought it for me before we were even engaged. I had these strange pregnancy dreams where I raised Jaydean on a farm and he was like a genie and made my dreams literally come true." Matthias explains as she looks around the place.
"Mama always tells the family that you guys probably lived in a dumpy apartment or something since you're pop idols and all but I never imagined this," Sophia confesses and Matthias and I both look at each other, unamused by Thomas' family so far.
"Where is my little niece hiding by the way?" She asks and I answer this time.
"She's getting ready with Thomas actually. We were about to head out to have Christmas at Matthias' parent's house, come with us." I offer the invitation, pretty sure that as soon as Thomas sees her here, she'll have no choice but to accept.
"You're parents also live a...gay...lifestyle right?" Sophia asks and Matthias blinks a few times. Both of us kind of offended by the way she put it.
"Yes, yes they do, are you going to have a problem with that? Cause if so-" Matthias suddenly gets overly defensive of his parents and I grip his shoulder to reign in the wild animal he was about to become.
"It's your choice if you want to come," I tell her calmly and she bites her lip, nodding slowly.
"Um, I think I'll go. I'm pretty...open," She shrugs and there's a sudden closing of the door from upstairs.
"You guys ready to go!" Matthias calls out and Jaydean skips down the stairs in her beautiful red princess styled Christmas dress with her hair put up in beautiful little braids.
"Yes, mommy!" She responds and runs when she sees her aunt.
"Auntie Cookie!" She squeals and the two hug as Thomas comes down the stairs in a tight dress shirt to show off his muscular upper body and dark jeans. You know, for being a gay couple of three we probably should have coordinated better and matched but what can you do when each of us has a different style.
"S-Sophia?" Thomas stutters as he finally sees his sister standing there in front of him.
"Hey," She shyly waves and he rushes over to her, pulling her into a tight hug.
"You made it," He softly mutters as he rocks her back and forth.
"Yeah, I finally decided it was time to choose you," She says and it was so emotional that I nearly cried and was proud when I held strong and didn't.
"But that's in the past you big dummy, come on! You're gonna squish my little niece!" She complained and the two stepped away from each other with Jaydean giggling in between them. Now that I was actually looking at them, they seemed oddly similar.
"Are you guys twins?" Matthias asked the question I had out loud and Thomas nodded.
"Yeah, I never told you? I'm actually a triplet, but my brother passed away when we were younger," Thomas admits and I turned to Matthias.
"Wow, so the twin and the triplet got together and made quads. It all makes sense now," I comment and get a nice jab into my side for that one.
"Are you coming to the Grayson house with us?" Thomas asks and I could see Sophia physically gulp.
"Um, sure!" She announces, letting Matthias and I both breathe a sigh of relief.
