MATTY POV
I looked out the window of the four seasons hotel suite where we were staying, watching the gloomy bustling city below us and Central Park across the street. Gently pressing a single finger to the window as the memories of Azi started to flood my brain. I pressed my forehead against the cool window and let out a long sigh.
"I'm sorry,"
I gently whispered, knowing he would never hear it. Was he okay? How was he? Is he still singing? Is he eating okay?
I bite my lip to hold back any emotion, knowing the second I did, Thomas would know something was up and there was no avoiding it.
Because I almost left him for Azi.
I fell in love with a boy on Broadway and everything afterward was a beautiful spontaneous twist of fate that fell short when I discovered I was pregnant. Two months with him held some of the most beautiful moments in my life when I needed it most. He came at a time when he was alone and I was healing.
A fling that could have lasted a lifetime if fate hadn't readjusted my course and brought me back to where I truly belonged.
Home with Thomas, Luca, and Jayde.
Azi knew this and I knew this but we both forced ourselves to forget the fact that our time together was just that.
A moment in time.
"Hey handsome, how are you feeling?"
I turned my head and saw Luca walking into the living room holding a bowl of fruit that he was munching on. Cooper trailed beside him as he came up behind me and kissed my cheek.
"Better now that the interview is out of the way and I've been able to relax for a bit," I told him and he chuckled a bit, wrapping his arms around my waist. I steal a strawberry from the bowl and he rests his chin on my shoulder.
"Mmm good, you had us really worried for the past few days," He said and I nuzzled my head against his.
"You shouldn't be, I'm okay I'm probably just tired from sharing my body with four other humans you know," I tell him and he puts the bowl down on a small side table before running his hands over my stomach.
"Hmm, I wonder where Nakoa is," He says and place my hand over his.
"I don't really know where each one is yet and you can't have favorites already," I warn him but he only rolls his eyes.
"Of course I love Rumi, Mika, and the little girl too. I just want to know where Koa's at is all," Luca tries to excuse himself but I wasn't buying it.
"Sounds a lot like favoritism to me," I grunt, picking up a small grape and tossing it in my mouth.
"I still don't think Jaydean fully understands that she's going to have four baby siblings. She thinks we're naming one baby Mika Nakoa Rumi Jackson," He giggles into my neck and it tickled.
"I guess she understands when we bring them home," I shrugged and he gave me a small squeeze.
"I just want to hold them all in my arms at one time and snuggle them like we snuggled little Jayde," Luca says and I grab a small blueberry, tossing it down to Cooper who gladly accepted it with an open mouth.
"You know these babies are yours too right? But like only if you want...I don't want to force anything on you, but..."
"Of course they're mine, what kind of a question is that? We all live together, Thomas treats my daughter like she's his and I love him as much as I love you...we're family Matthias." He says as if I needed to be reminded. He got down to my waist and gently kissed my stomach.
"Maybe I can nurture these little guys into being more like me since Jaydean is all you," He points out as he rest his hands on my belly trying to see if he can feel anything but the quads were quiet right now, probably sleeping or something.
"That's funny because there's a lot about Jaydean that I think is more like you," I tell him honestly as I fanned my fingers through his hair and he looked up at me with those beautiful blue eyes that I could spend the day staring into.
"Oh yeah? Name one thing," He challenges and I scratch my chin.
"She's very quiet around strangers, she's super cuddly, and she loves taking care of others before herself," I tell him and he gasps as he feels one of our little guys move. I'll have to ask Dr. Yang where they're all placed so I can know who is who.
"She is, but her attitude is all you," He sighs and kisses the spot where he felt the baby move before standing up and kissing me. I wrapped my arms around his neck, keeping him close as I pulled my head back just enough to talk to him.
"No more after this though, both of you are getting your tubes clipped," I tell him and he nearly chokes on his own breath.
"What? You can go in together and call it a date, I'm sure it will be a wonderful couples experience," I add and he groans.
"What couples experience?" Thomas asked as he walked in with Jaydean, both of them fully dressed in their winter jackets and ready to go. I pulled away from Luca and patted Thomas on the shoulder.
"Your duel vasectomies, aw Jayde you look so cute in that hat," I quickly got down on one knee as Thomas shook his head in shock.
"Wait, what?!" He called out and I zipped Jayde's coat up all the way and pulled her scarf a little tighter.
"Mommy, I feel like a marshmallow!" She squealed and I kissed her little nose.
"That's the point. You guys heard me, now let's get going,"
