"Good luck honey and congrats! Go see a doctor once you've gotten some rest though,"
Appa reminds me for the millionth time and I roll my eyes as I close the car door behind me.
"Yes Appa, now go home and call your husband," I told him and he smiled that glowing smile that took over his face whenever dad was mentioned.
"I will, goodnight and call me if you have any news," He said before finally driving away and it was just me and my suitcase as I rolled up the front walk to the front door of the farmhouse. The sun was getting ready to start its rise over the hills as the sky slowly started to turn a shade of navy blue.
I pulled out my key and opened the front door, instantly greeted by our large rottweiler, Houston, who nearly knocks me over with his kisses.
"Alright boy, alright!" I chuckle as I get down on one knee and let him kiss my face while I pet him. He nuzzles his head against my face before sniffing me up and down, pausing when he reached my stomach and poking it with his nose.
"You know you might have another friend huh?" I asked and he licked my shirt. I kissed the top of his head before letting him go and standing back up. Knowing I the other members of my tight-knit family would never be as excited as Houston.
"What are you gonna do with another baby to protect?" I asked him and he jumped in a circle of excitement.
"I thought so, good boy," I pet him again as I walked over to the stairs, taking care to be as quiet as possible as I walked up to the second floor where Thomas and Jaydean were waiting.
I paused by my little girl's room first, sliding the barn door to her bedroom only to find her bed empty.
"Jaydean?" I whispered into the room but I couldn't hear her little snores and my heart skipped a few beats.
I left my suitcase in the hall, walking down to the main bedroom and quickly yanking open to door to find exactly what I was looking for...
Plus one more.
"I didn't know we were practicing bedsharing now,"
I muttered under my breath as I saw Wesley laying in my bed where I should be sleeping instead. Next to him was Jaydean with her little arms spread out as she took up all the space her little body could demand while Thomas curled up with his back to her.
God, I missed them and I suppose I missed Wesley and his sarcastic ass too. I stripped off my sweatshirt and dirty airplane jeans before deciding I would try to snuggle up next to Thomas where there was a little room.
"Hey you, push over dumbass," I whispered ever so lovingly into my husband's ear and he slowly opened his eyes.
"Matty? I thought you weren't coming until three," He groaned and shifted a bit as I crawled under the warm comforter.
"Yeah and now it's four," I told him and now he was awake and alert, grabbing my shirt and yanking me as close to him as possible as he wrapped his strong muscular arms around me. Alright, maybe I missed him a lot more than I thought because now I was on the brink of crying again.
"Fuck, I'm sorry Kitten. I thought you meant the afternoon. I'm so sorry," He murmured against my skin as he buried his head in my shoulder and I wrapped my arms around him.
"It's okay, I figured as much," I sighed into his ear and took in his strong scent of old spice and honey.
"How are you feeling?" He asked as we held each other in the dark.
"I'm feeling a lot better baby. I'm sorry for all the stupid things I said to you. I didn't mean any of it," I apologized but I could feel him shaking his head.
"It's okay, I took it with a grain of salt. I know it's just your way of hurting," He said and I gently pecked his lips.
"You always care about everyone except yourself. That's going to get you into trouble you know," I told him and he kissed my cheek before letting go of me so I could settle in and get some sleep.
"That's just the kind of person I am Kitten. I'm protective of you guys," He said, looking over his shoulder as he said so.
"Wesley too?" I asked and he quickly turned his head back to me. That's when I fucking knew they did some shit together.
"Yeah, I mean...he's also Jayde's dad and-"
"Thomas shut the fuck up," I cut him off, nuzzling up against him.
"I know you two have a thing for each other. I'm not stupid. I've been waiting for you two to shut up and kiss for the past five years," I told him and he let out a long sigh.
"How do you feel about that Matty, you're my husband and you come first," He says and I appreciate the thought but it wasn't needed.
"I think you two can do whatever you want. Just respect me and I'll respect you," I replied without too much care. I was happy actually extremely happy for them but I had to hold back my emotions.
"Is that your nice way of saying don't fuck him in our bed or while your home?" Thomas continues, adding to our whisper chat.
"Wow babe, you really can read my mind," I giggled as I closed my eyes, just wanting to fall asleep.
"Of course I can. I'm your husband," He said wrapping one arm around my waist and I got a little nervous. Wondering what excuse I would use if he feels the bump.
"I also know you're hiding something or you really missed me cause you haven't been this snuggly in years," He says and I yawned.
"Do you like it when I cuddle with you?" I asked. I've never really asked what he liked and didn't like before in our relationship but I knew that if I was going to fix things, I better start learning. Especially with a hidden baby on the way.
"Of course I do, you are my Kitten after all," he says kissing my forehead and I couldn't help but smile.
"Okay, I'll keep that in mind," I replied as I curled up close with my legs against his knees.
"Matty? Is that you?" I heard Wes ask in the dark and I reached over Thomas' shoulder to flick him in the dark.
"Ow, fuck. It really is you," He laughs and flicks me back but everyone freezes when hearing a little high pitched yawn and I could tell Thomas wasn't even breathing.
When Jaydean's little groan subsides and she goes back to her even sleeping position everyone finally starts to breathe again. I wanted to kiss and cuddle my baby but I knew it would be better if I did it in the morning before she went off to school.
"I missed you guys," I sighed and Thomas huffed.
"We missed you too," He says and I don't even want to know what trouble they got into as dads without me around.
"Alright, I'm going to sleep now. The only person who gets to wake me next is Jaydean," I warn both of them before finally letting my exhaustion take over.
