                    ~THOMAS POV~
With just a few hours left until the plane landed on the mythical island of Bridgeport, I sat up on the couch, trying to get in at least a fifteen-minute nap since I was running on fumes. Just as I was about to drift off, a quiet sniffling gathers my attention and I'm forced to open my eyes again.
I knew Luca was asleep in the back room with Jayde, Cooper, and Houston so it couldn't be him. Mika was curled up in his seat listening to his earbuds as he read a book and it didn't look like there were any signs of him crying either.
Which meant it could only be one person.
I turned my head to my side where Matty was resting on the same couch, hugging a pillow and quietly sniffling. I push my tired body to shift closer to him and he only curled into a smaller ball, ignoring me.
"Kitten? What's wrong?" I asked him as my hands gently worked around his shaking shoulders and he sighed.
"I haven't felt Mika kick in a while," He confessed and I caught my breath. He pushed himself up until his head was on my lap and he sighed.
"Well you know the little guy's smaller than the others. Their kicks are probably just a lot weaker," I mention but he shook his head.
"No, I killed them, Thomas. I killed our baby again," He cries into my lap and I gently kiss his forehead. He was probably still tired from the long day we had which is why he was having this sudden panic attack.
"Matty, I'm sure you didn't kill them and either way it's not your fault," I told him and continued to run my hands through his hair, wiping his tears with the sleeve of my long sleeve t-shirt.
"Look, I bet you little Mika's just fine," I reassured him but he didn't believe me, continuing to weep into my lap. I took his hand in mine, gently reaching under the blanket and slowly unbuttoning my plaid shirt which he still wore.
"Hey, shhh calm down kitten, watch," I slowly traced a finger over the bump of his stomach and smiled. Already feeling the little ones kicking away and keeping their mommy awake. I slid his hand up to meet mine where Nakoa was.
"Take a few breaths okay? See Koa's just fine," I gently whispered and kissed his cheek as he choked on his tears and started to take a few shaky breaths. I slid our hands over to where Rumi was hiding out. His kicking a little weaker than Koa's but still there.
"Rumi seems to like airplanes, the little troublemaker is so calm," I spoke to him in the calmest voice possible, knowing how close he is to breaking. Matty finally cracks a small smile and meets my loving gaze. The light shining in through the windows of the plane illuminates every fleck of gray in his eyes and the brown is so light that they almost reflected gold.
"Look, then there's little Novalee, stealing all her beauty from her handsome mother while she's growing in there, probably training to be Jaydean's partner in crime and scapegoat," I move over Nova's spot, she doesn't kick at all for me but I feel like she's doing just fine.
"She's moving around a little bit but she's a really calm baby so she doesn't do much," Matty mentions with a last sniffle, giggling when I run my thumb over the soft skin of his stretched stomach.
"She already reminds me of you. Just a really chill, relaxed little babe whose probably going to be some kind of intellectual," He imagines and I bring his hand to my lips, kissing it gently.
"Mmm, you think so?" I ask and he nods, finally relaxing his muscles so he's a little less tense in my arms.
"I know so," He quietly adds as we move our hands to little Mika's spot.
"And finally our special little baby Mika," I sighed and felt a hard kick to my hand, one that was a lot harder than Koa and Roo's combined.
Now all the tense stiffness leaves my poor husband's body as he melts into me.
"Fuck Mika, you scared the shit out of me," He groans, running his hand over his face as he did so and I chuckled a bit.
"Mika might be learning from their big brothers," I suggest and Matty rolls his eyes.
"They better not, I'm counting on them to be the sweet little in between," he says and my lips meet his, kissing him gently and enjoying the little lap of his tongue.
"See? All four babies are just fine. Don't panic without a reason kitten. The quads are going to just fine," I tell him and he scratcbed his tummy.
"I'm just worried about them...I love them," He confesses and I held my hand over the bare skin at the middle of his stomach.
"I love them too,'
