                    *THOMAS POV*
"Woah..."
Was the only word that could leave my lips as the plane flew around the beautiful Island of Bridgeport. What I had assumed to be a tiny rural island was abuzz with electrical glow and all sorts of different structures I had never seen in America.
"It's like a different world here," Matty gently whispers as we sat down for landing. Luca joined us from the back with Jaydean, both of them with a ferocious bed head and yawing with an identical head tilt as they did so.
"Mmm, this is different. I hope it's warmer out there," Luca mentions as he stretched out his arms. Jaydean does the same, showing off her little tummy covered in bruises which Matty sees out of the corner of his eye. He quickly yanks her little shirt down and pulls the hood of her sweatshirt over her messy hair.
"Are you back to normal Mommy?" Jaydean asked with a small frown as she let Matty tuck her hair behind her ears. He pinches her freckled cheek and sighs, making sure she was buckled into her seat.
"Yeah baby girl, I'm okay now," He says with a small smile and I toy with Luca's mop of hair.
"It's not going to go down if that's what you're attempting to do," he giggles as I pushed his hair down, only to have it spring back upwards in a clear statement of defiance. I thought he looked adorable like this but the world out there was a different one altogether.
I pretended to lick my hand with an evil smirk and he gasped, slapping my hand away as I tried to run it through his hair.
"THOMAS!" He squealed as he got back in his seat and I'm so fucking tired that the slightest thing has me laughing hysterically.
"Brace for landing," The pilot announces and we do, looking out the window and watching as the plane appears to be landing on a thin sheet of glass above a busy bustling futuristic city below us. As the door opens, a staircase seems to assimilate out of thin air and meets the door with a hollow, blue gleam.
Luca and I were both silenced by the marvel of technology as our mouths drop. While Matty, the pups, Jaydean, and Mika all walked off the plane without much of a problem, Luca and I stayed hesitant. Not trusting the magical stairs with our weight until our family had reached the bottom. I stood on the first step and it felt like I was standing on solid glass beneath my feet.
Once we got to the bottom, I quickly realized we weren't alone here.
"Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes?" A man in a tight suit with a small crown perched upon his head, announces as he crosses his arms and looks directly at Matty.
"Damn Finley, that's the greeting I get? I know you're king of the fucking island and all but that doesn't give you the excuse to be an asshole," Matty retorts and King Finley damn near snorts.
"I was always an asshole and so were you!" Finley cries out with a smile, unoffended my our husbands' rude comments towards the king of his country.
"You know, I'm still surprised the island hasn't burned to the ground," Matty says with his hands on his hips and I tried to nudge him to stop spitting out attitude.
"I am too, to be completely blunt with you, but I haven't died yet and we haven't gotten into any wars so I must be doing something right," Finley shrugs before opening his arms to Matty.
"Alohowa my favorite pain in the ass and welcome home!" he cries out and Matty rolls his eyes, taking the embrace anyway as the two kiss each other on the cheek.
"Ah, uncle Mika!" Finley says and Mika curtsies on the runway.
"Your majesty," He chuckles before ruffling his nephew's jet black hair. Finally, the king lays his bright gray eyes upon the three of us who remained and smirks, pointing at me.
"You must be Thomas, it's nice to put a handsome face to the name I've heard so much about," Finley announces before giving out his hand for me to shake it. I was uneasy about the encounter, not wanting to offend him as I took his hand and he gave it a strong shake.
"Ooo Matty you caught yourself a good one too, look at you all strong and protective. And you..." His eyes go to Luca and he slowly lets go of my hand. I watch his face flinch for a moment before he holds out his hand to the man. Luca bows before taking it.
"And who are you?" Finley asked and Luca opened his mouth to speak but he was so nervous that no words came out which often happened when he was around new people.
"This is Luca, our fiance," Matty quickly covers for him, seeing how nervous our poor little angel was.
"Tsk, Tsk, Tsk Matthias Grayson, you of all people know you need the Grayson seal of approval before you can get married," Finley chuckles before getting down on one knee to meet our little one.
"Hello there beautiful, you must be Jaydean Arabella Grayson, I remember putting your name on the family tree the day you were born," He sighs and he kisses Jayde's freckled cheek.
"You're so cute in person, a lot cuter than your mommy was when he was your age if you ask me," Finley winks and our daughter giggles.
"Hey!" Matty tries to defend himself but it was useless.
"Which reminds me, we should be going now. Dr. Caspian is waiting for us,"
