*MATTY POV*
"Rumi, buddy, you gotta work with me here,"
Rumi tugged his little arm away from my hand as I tried to force it into the sleeve of the romper I needed him to wear to take him home. As soon as his hand slipped from mine he ended up punching himself in the face and scrunched up his little nose before taking in that deep breath. The breath that meant his cry was about to come out in full force and oh boy it did.
"Ay bebe, Ven aca, te voy a dar algo para que llores de a de veras," [Ay baby, Come here or I'll give you something to cry about] I muttered as I rubbed his little nose to soothe the pain faster, using the opportunity to snatch his little arm and slip it into the sleeve of the romper while he was distracted. Feeling bad, I quickly picked up my chubby baby boy and cradled him on my shoulder. His three other siblings squirming beneath me, ready to go and rocking their rompers with Rumi being the only one to give me trouble.
"Roo it's okay, you hit yourself in the face, I couldn't really protect you there honey," I chuckled as he defiantly milked his 'injured' nose for more alone time with mommy. I rubbed his little back and kissed his head of black curls as his cry turned to a gentle whimper just as his daddies walked into the room.
"Well look who decided to show up," I said sarcastically as I rocked Roo from side to side when Thomas and Luca walked in with my parents trailing in behind them along with my eldest baby.
"Mommy!" Jaydean squealed as she rushed forward to hug me but Thomas quickly scooped her off the ground before she could hop onto the bed full of fragile babies.
"Are those my baby siblings?" Jaydean's mouth opened wide as she saw them now that she was on her father's hip and he nodded.
"Mhm, these are your baby siblings, what do you think?" He asked and Jaydean pouted a bit.
"They're kind of ugly and wrinkly daddy," She said out loud and I burst out laughing, hurting my stitches in the process.
"They all look kind of wrinkly when they're first born but they'll get cuter in a few days hon," I point out but I could tell she didn't believe me.
"Was I like that when I was born?" She asked as Luca came around and kissed my cheek, gently giving me a small side hug.
"Yup, you looked kind of like Mika-Ji but you had this huge poof of red hair," Luca tells her and she twists her hair as she admired the little guys. My parents made their way over the bed and got their first look at my little quad squad.
"Wow, they're so precious," Appa says as he pinches Novalee's little toes.
"Yeah, this little troublemaker on my shoulder is Rumi, the one you just pinched in Novalee, that little guy next to my knee taking a nap is Nakoa and this one rested on my thigh is Mika-Ji," I introduce Mika to Mika-Ji for the first time and his eyes open wide.
"Can I hold him?" He asks and I quickly nodded.
"Of course you can, You would be doing me a favor actually since he needs to be fed," I told Appa and he carefully picked up my tiny Mika-Ji like he was a fragile piece of glass pottery to be treated with utmost care. Thomas handed him a bottle and he sat down with little Mika, cooing as he cradled him close.
"They're all so beautiful," My appa sniffled, wiping his tears with the shoulder of his shirt and I couldn't help but smile.
"Yeah, they really are Appa," I commented and my dad took it upon himself to hold little Novalee while Luca held Nakoa with Jaydean.
"This is your brother Nakoa, remember little Koa? The guy who would kick the most?" Luca asked her and she nodded, staring at the baby like it was a fake wax figure or something. Luca helper her prop little Koa up on a pillow to hold him and she got her first taste of what it's like to be a big sister.
"So are you ready to go?" Thomas asked and I quickly shook my head, Kissing Roo's chubby cheeks again and again.
"No, Mika-Ji still needs to be blessed," I mentioned and the two looked at me like I was the dumbest man on the planet.
"Blessed? Blessed by who?"
