                    (Thomas POV)
"No, that's not it,"
I scratched my forehead with the back of my pencil as I sat back in my chair, swirling around in a circle of frustration as I searched for the right synthesizer for the beat I was creating. But nothing sounded right and I found myself stuck.
Tapping my pencil to the desk I looked out the window, catching a glimpse of Luca as he trotted across the backyard on our horse, Georgia with Houston running alongside them. I watched my beautiful boyfriend sway in his warm jean jacket which I bought him for Christmas last year with a worn out pair of black denim skinny jeans and a tight white t-shirt.
God, is it hot in here or is it just me? Maybe I should take a break from work and cool off outside.
I take my own advice, grabbing my own jacket off the back of my chair and yanking it on before walking out of the upstairs office and out the back door where most of our acres of property laid hidden.
I leaned against the railing of the back porch and whistled this sexy guy and he turned his head towards me, shaking his head as he did so.
"Who's this handsome stranger trespassing on my lawn?" I asked him as he hopped off Georgia and faced me.
"Sorry mate, I'm not from around here," He said, laying on his accent thick as he did so while putting his hands up.
"Where's Matty? Did he tell you where he was going?" I asked and Luca shrugged.
"I dunno, said something about an appointment and he's not feeling all that great. I told him it's probably from all the traveling but you know Matty. I'm sure he'll be back soon," He answered and I took in my boyfriend from head to toe.
"What's wrong?" Luca asked with his wide blue eyes staring into mine as he calmed Georgia and fed her a small carrot.
"Nothing, I'm just admiring how beautiful my boyfriend looks right now," I tell him the truth and he blushes beneath his deep brown freckles.
"Thomas," He muttered, burying his head in Georgia's mane to hide from me cause he's just that adorable.
"You're so cute," I cooed, walking off the deck so I could meet him and kiss Luca's blushing face.
"Go away," He said sarcastically as I did so, his body felt so good in my hands and I wanted him so badly that I nearly scooped him up myself.
That is if my phone didn't ring first.
"Hello?"
"Hi is this Thomas Jackson?"
"Speaking,"
"Good evening Mr. Jackson, this is headmaster Lumiere from Lexington private school. It seems a situation has arisen concerning your daughter Jaydean Jackson. We need you to come to the school so we can address what happened here today,"
"We'll be there as soon as possible,"
I hung up and Luca gave me a strange look.
"Who was that?" He asked and I yanked his hand towards the house so he would follow me.
"Something happened at school with Jaydean. The principal wants us to come in and I have a feeling it's going to be really bad." I told him as I slid into our car and he followed in the passenger seat.
"What do you think it could be?" He asked as he buckled up and I started driving as soon as the garage door opened.
"With Jaydean? It could be anything," I said and he visibly gulped. I drove down the unpaved road that led to our peaceful oasis just as Matty started driving in and I pulled over.
"Where are you guys going?" He asked when I rolled down the window.
"Something happened with Jaydean at the school. I was just about to call you, why don't you hop in with us," I wave him over and he nods. Leaving our luxury SUV parked on the side of our private driveway and getting into the back seat of my truck.
"Did he say what it was?" Matty asked as I sped off and Luca shook his head.
"He didn't say anything specific. He just told me there was a situation and we have to go pick her up. I hope she didn't hurt herself or something," I told them and Matty sat in the middle of the back seat so he could pop his head up between Luca and I.
"No, we would be going to the hospital if that were the case. Maybe she just had an argument with her classmates," Matty suggested, resting his elbows on the console.
"Not Jaydean, we raised her better than that," I mutter as I turn onto the street and focus on the road.
"You say that but she's also the daughter of this one so I wouldn't be surprised," Luca points to the back and Matty hits his shoulder.
"What's that suppose to mean!" He cries out and hits him again for extra measure.
"Ow! Nothing you're just such a firecracker is all," Luca explains as he rubs his sore shoulder and I give both of them a look when I hit a red light.
"I love you Kitten, but Luca has a point and we all know Jaydean mostly takes after you," I tell him straight up and he raises his left brow.
"Who the fuck is Luca?" He asks and I bite my lip, feeling bad for spilling my boyfriend's secret before he was ready.
Luca doesn't look at either of us as he turns in his seat and crosses his arms, choosing to look out the window instead.
"It's my real name," He says and Matty's jaw drops.
"Well I think it's a beautiful name," I interject, eyeing my husband before he says something stupid and he shuts his mouth.
"Is that what you want me to call you?" He asks and Luca nods.
"Damn, I wish you would have told me sooner," Is all Matty adds as he sits back.
"I thought you guys were going to make fun of me," Luca hints and I gently reach out, wrapping my arm around his hunched shoulders.
"No one would ever make fun of you when it comes to something serious like that," I reassure him, but his smile already faded.
"I mean, I know I can be evil sometimes but I'm not that bad We- I mean Luca," Matty slips and catches himself.
"Well, I told you now. Let's just focus on our daughter," Luca says and Matty sighs.
"What has the little nugget gotten herself into,"
