As my words finished, I heard glass shattering beside me.
Kael's face turned deathly pale. His champagne flute had fallen, splashing wine across his custom suit.
The room fell dead silent, unable to process what I'd said.
In this eerie quiet, my voice became even more distinct.
"Regarding this partnership, I've hired professional lawyers to address patent infringement with Moonstone Pack's legal team. We'll have answers soon."
"Boom—" The room exploded. Reporters like blood-scented sharks frantically raised cameras. Flashbulbs stormed us like rainfall, nearly blinding me.
Kael belatedly covered my mouth, forcing a smile. "Media friends, please stay calm."
He turned to the crowd, voice deliberately steady. "Recently, my Luna suffered a car accident and lost our pup. She's been consumed by guilt."
I watched his performance, laughing coldly inside.
His eyes even filled with tears, his anguished expression Oscar-worthy.
"She blames herself for these accidents, making her emotionally unstable." Kael continued his lies while gripping my wrist painfully. "Please don't be too harsh. Thank you all."
During the discussion, he leaned close to my ear, teeth clenched. "Selene, stop being difficult."
His breath on my ear reminded me of that hospital day when he whispered to Sera the same way.
"You know I wished on the moon stone for eternal bonding. Even if you ruin today's partnership, I'll still be Supreme Alpha and eventually your mate."
I violently broke free, smiling brilliantly. "Really?"
He nodded confidently, magnanimous. "Just admit you're confused now. I won't hold it against you. In a year, you can still be the Supreme Alpha's Luna."
I rolled my eyes.
"Wow. Sorry, forgot to mention - from the moment you severed our bond and mated another, the moon stones became powerless."
Kael's face instantly went ashen, color draining as if doused with ice water.
He grabbed my clothes, voice trembling. "Impossible. You're lying."
I shook off his hand, sneering. "Try it and see."
Just then, my legal team entered perfectly on cue.
Lead attorney Zhang presented my severance papers and patent transfer contract.
I placed both documents before the cameras, ensuring every lens captured them clearly.
"I'm not emotionally unstable or speaking nonsense," my voice was firm and clear. "Alpha Kael and I officially severed our mate bond two weeks ago."
The room erupted again. Johnson's face darkened terribly while his assistant frantically made calls.
"The severance reason," I took a deep breath, feeling the massive weight on my chest finally lifting, "was his affair with his female beta, who carries his pup."
