With that, I pulled out my phone andreported him to pack authorities.
Thorne panicked for a moment, but by the time he snapped out of it, I had already given them the address.
He roared in fury, "Have you lost your fucking mind?!"
Just as the patrol vehicles pulled up beside me, I lost consciousness.
The world fell silent.
I don't know how much time passed, but a sharp needle piercing my skin jolted me toward awareness. The pain made me want to open my eyes, but my lids wouldn't obey.
Through the haze, I heard Thorne speaking with healer.
"Alpha, we've drawn 800ml already. Should we continue?"
Thorne's voice carried no emotion. "Draw however much Amaris needs."
The healer replied, "Amaris slit her wrists and lost significant blood. She needs at least 1500ml."
Thorne commanded, "Then draw the full 1500ml."
"If she hadn't called the authorities and terrified Amaris into attempting suicide, none of this would have happened."
"She caused this mess—of course, she should pay for it.”
I laughed bitterly in my mind. I was clearly the victim, yet he twisted everything as if I were the one at fault.
But it didn’t matter. His good fortune was about to run out.
As my warm blood continued flowing out, Thorne gently smoothed my furrowed brow, telling the healer:
"Give her more sedative."
"Make sure when she wakes, all she knows is that we drew blood for testing. Everything else—all her symptoms—are because she was already severely anemic, nothing else.”
The healer agreed nervously, but a second later, he let out a terrified shriek.
“Luna’s bleeding from below!”
At the same moment, another pack doctor burst in, voice trembling.
"Alpha, the test results just came back—Luna Liora is twelve weeks pregnant. She doesn't meet blood donation criteria."
"Forcing the draw like this could lead to a miscarriage…”
Probably seeing the blood pooling beneath me, the healer's words cut off abruptly.
The room went deathly still...
The healer spoke through what sounded like tears. "Alpha Thorne, I'm so sorry, please forgive us—this was our mistake…”
After a long silence, Thorne finally spoke.
"Remember: Luna miscarried due to anemia. It has nothing to do with the accident or the blood draw! Is that clear?”
Soul-crushing, bone-deep agony erupted from within, consuming my entire being.
My father, my unborn pup—both dead because of him.
Yet again and again, he tried to bury the truth.
I struggled to rise but my body wouldn't move.
The rage boiling in my chest sent uncontrollable torrents of blood spilling from my mouth.
The next second, my world plunged back into darkness again.
