Thorne scrambled to explain, his alpha authority crumbling.
"I never cheat! Liora wanted freedom, so I agreed to let her go. We made a deal—rebond in a year!"
I wasn't letting him spin this and nodded to my lawyer.
The first recording blasted through the ballroom's sound system. Thorne's voice, crystal clear:
“She’s innocent, terrified others will call her a homewrecker, and worse the pup will be labeled a bastard. I can’t just abandon them. Once her pup's born and registered, we'll rebond, I promise."
The cocky tone in the recording versus the sweating mess on stage? Perfect contrast.
Reporters went feral. Some were already livestreaming the shitshow on social media.
The second recording hit. Our phone conversation:
"Liora, I saw the footage. Just a normal car accident. She doesn't even know you—total accident. Why can't you just let it go?"
The screen behind us lit up with surveillance footage. Amaris's brother gunning his car straight at me as I crossed the street. No braking. Pure intent to kill.
Real tears this time. My wolf was howling with rage.
"Thorne Nightfang called attempted murder a 'normal accident' to protect his side piece. You tell me—does this look accidental?"
The crowd went ballistic.
"That's straight-up attempted murder!" A female reporter screamed.
"Rich assholes think they can kill whoever they want! Let the side piece's brother kill the Luna? Disgusting!"
A business reporter got brutal. "Rich? Please. Everyone knows this loser Alpha built his fortune off his Luna's designed weapons. Dude's been living off her success and just bit the hand that fed him!"
I opened the patent contract, "Exactly right. I did transfer my weapons to Thorne. But our agreement was crystal clear—bond-breaking means automatic weapons reclaim."
My lawyer projected the specific clause onto the big screen. Phones came out, screenshots flying.
Thorne was sweating bullets now, his legal team frantically shuffling papers.
"In other words, every weapon Nightfang pack has made since our bond-breaking? Patent infringement."
The room exploded like a bomb went off. Everyone talking at once.
"Holy shit, we thought he was self-made!"
"Nah, he's just a trophy husband who cheated!"
"Poor girl—I'd have burned his pack house down!"
The Lycan King shot up from his seat, face thunderous. "Alpha Nightfang, you've betrayed your mate AND your business partners."
His voice could've cut steel. "You can't deliver what you promised. See you in court."
He stalked out, his entire pack following.
Thorne completely lost it. He lunged for my arm, his alpha pride in ashes. "Liora, please! Amaris seduced me! Kept stroking my ego, telling me how incredible I was—I lost my fucking mind!"
