In a world where humanity has been driven to the point of near extinction, had been hiding within the comfort of walls being so tall that it seemed unbreakable, as well, it had been for over 100 years.
Beyond the walls, as it was common knowledge, death, titans everywhere all around.
Seldom anyone were to travel out there. If anything, the only humans with permission to go beyond the walls are the survey corps, the scout regiment. But the scout regiment, the expeditions they launched, came back with always less than they left with.
It's widely believed that nothing is out there. No humans left, just titans, at least that is assumed, for the moment.
Wall Maria
Underneath the tree that stood on a hill was a boy who was in a state of dream.
"Eren." The voice called out to him, but the 'n' sounded more like it was an 'h'. The figure, a woman, familiar, that appeared before him was smiling. She gently called out to him.
The young brown haired boy opened his eyes as the voice called out his name still.
"Eren!!!"
"Hm?" Eren said as he opened his eyes fully.
"Wake up, it's going to get dark soon, we should get home now." The girl told the boy as she stood with several firewood sticks on her back.
The boy seemed confused, having trouble distinguishing her from the one he saw in his dream.
"Mikasa, did your hair get longer?" Eren said tiredly as he stood up.
"So you slept comfortably enough to just spout that all of a sudden?" Mikasa asked.
He put the straps over his back to which were linked to the pack of sticks it was carrying. "I had a sort of long dream, you see." But Mikasa made no reaction, though she was listening. "But I can't remember what it was about."
Mikasa's face became concerned, as she had noticed something coming from Eren. "Eren...why are you crying?"
"Uh?" He said, dumbfounded as he put his hand to his eyes to rub the tears.
Outside the walls, far from Wall Maria
The titans roamed aimlessly, no specific place to go, since they didn't possess all that much intelligence.
But there one titan, short, stubby, with blonde hair, seemed to be isolated. It stood, just like the other titans with no objective other than partially walking around.
However, the ground shook underneath it, like an earthquake. The titan simply stood there, like it was immobile.
Soon, plumes of dirt shot upwards as the ground beneath the titan was pushed or fell away, causing the titan to lose balance. Soon enough it was consumed by a large metal cone like mouth, shaped as a drill, that opened wide with a hundres and maybe thousands of iron teeth., that seemed to break the titan down in a gruesome manner, completely destroying it.
Out from the ground, a massive hand grabbed the surface firmly, and another did so as well.
Pulling itself up, this tall and towering being that made the surrounding titans look like ants looked down on all of them. This being had horns and was coated in red.
Shortly, it roared, soaring through the land, shaking and ruffling the trees, causing birds to flee in a hurry. The titans seemed easily grabbed by this large beings presence as they all slowly marched towards it from different directions.
This large colossal red being that gave off the appearance of a premature dragon opened its stomach, revealing a complex mechanism of blades tightly packed together spinning consistently.
From the stomach shot out a chain with a hook at the head of it, it pierced one of the titan's stomach, with blood spilling everywhere and latched on tightly. As a result the titan was being reeled in and lifted off the ground rather quickly. The Titan made no effort to escape.
Closer and closer, finally, it was brought into the meat grinder of a stomach the giant being had and was torn to shreds.
The large red metal creature had its thrill of eliminating and destroying every titan it saw where it stood. After ten or so minutes, it decided to sit on the ground almost childlike.
"Steve, I believe we're getting a little off track here." Said a male voice, who had the head of a drill, plated in a golden like color. The voice, although, seemed to be heard from the inside. "We still don't know where we are. You can't just go crushing and eating everything you see." The drill like man said to the red being.
He looked at the screen in front of him, which displayed the view of what the large red being was seeing. "Hm, this is not familiar at all, I don't recall there being giant humans. The scientist toilet wouldn't have made a such thing." The drill man said to himself. He looked at the controls, then over to the communications, he flipped a few switches, and then spoke into it, "This is Chief Drillman speaking, if anyone can hear me, I'm requesting emergency assistance, I and Titan Drillman appear to be lost, please send a rescue squad."
He laid back in his chair and waited, static silence came from the radio. It was a low frequency to which he knew, a low frequency radio, so surely the waves emitted would've been intercepted by anyone from a reasonably far distance.
He leaned forward and spoke into it again. "This is Chief Drillman speaking, if anyone can hear me, I'm requesting emergency assistance, I'm surrounded by plains, with a few trees, I and the Drill titan are lost right now, please dispatch a search and rescue team, over." He laid back for a few minutes, nothing.
Chief Drillman made a grunting like noise as he leaned forward and instead opened a communication channel to the Drill titan, while leaving the other one open in case the message was heard. "Sorry Steve, no one is answering, I believe we are on our own for now."
In response, the Drill titan made a groan. The Chief could understand how Steve was feeling right now. "We'll just rest here for a bit. Besides, you could take a break from all the beatings you received from the toilets." The Titan nodded his head in acknowledgment while making some funky noises. "There has got to be something, something, a sign, anything to tell us where we are, I don't recognize any of this." He thought to himself.
