After what he believed was half an hour, maybe more. Chief Drillman decided break time was over, especially since nothing had come over the radio. "Alright, Steve, let's keep moving."
The Drill titan made a short roar as his hands transformed into drills themselves and began spinning rapidly. From where he stood, he dived into the ground, using his head as well to burrow deep beneath the earth to avoid leaving any noticeable trail on the surface since his little mentor scolded him that, that is how the Skibidi toilets kept finding him.
"Damn, even the clock is off." Chief Drillman said, looking at the time in his pod as the titan drilled through the Earth. He read a little writing on the side of the clock that said, "Generous gift of Chief Clockman." He shrugged his shoulders. "Generous gift, my ass I can tell you that is not the right time."
Minutes later, Titan Drillman crawled and burrowed his way up to the surface abruptly with no warning, confusing the Drillman inside. "Steve, you better give me something good, and it better not be anothe-" But he stopped when he saw what the Drill Titan was seeing.
There were footsteps, big ones like the other titans the duo had been seeing constantly. These footsteps were in masses, like a herd came through. "Could it finally be?" Chief Drillman thought as he inspected the prints go on forever.
The Drill Titan made a short groan, which was probably for his father figure, like a mentor to say something. "Oh, sorry, Steve! Follow those footprints. It could take us somewhere."
The Drill Titan nodded his head as he walked over to the side of the trail and dove into the ground, making another massive hole. But this time, he increased his pace as he drilled across the Earth as fast as possible to see where it this could lead. "Perhaps there is hope that may lie here." Chief Drillman said to himself.
The Drill Titan roared as he shred his way underneath the trail, assuming he was going straight as intended.
It happened so that several more minutes later, the Drill Titan let out a roar to warn the Chief. He rerouted himself upward and rose from the ground, making another hole. He crawled himself up and looked straight ahead to show the Chief what had triggered him.
Chief saw as always through his perspective, "Steve...is this it?" Chief Drillman asked more to himself. What was there before him was a herd of titans all running together.
The Titan roared again, but it was more of being annoyed. Chief Drillman didn't understand, and then he saw that the Titan was pointing at something else. "Oh....shit....." Chief said, quite slowly.
What he saw were walls in the distance, but not just any regular walls. These were massive ones that kept going on forever.
Chief Drillman, after a minute of being awe, realized what this meant. "We have finally found what we might need, maybe, but who knows, it could be a trap, it couldn't."
He looked at the herd of titans approaching the walls, and he tried to connect something here and there. "It couldn't be a trap. If there are walls, and those weird giants are running to them, then that means that there are humans."
He received a confused noise from the Drill Titan and tilted his head. "Oh right, you don't know, humans were what roamed before us." Chief explained and paused for a bit. "But anyways, quick, we should start making our way there and take out those giants as well."
The Drill Titan obliged, despite not really understanding what "Humans" were. He brushed all of that off and immediately bore a new hole.
Wall Maria, Shiganshina district
There sitting on a river bank were three kids chatting amongst one another.
"Oh yeah, on that note, what in this world and the name of all things had compelled you to tell me on OUR PARENTS!" The brown haired boy said with irritation in his voice.
The girl next to him simply responded to him with, "I didn't promise anything."
Then another boy, with blonde hair, asked, "About that, how... did it go?"
"Well..." Eren said, trailing a bit. "They weren't exactly all happy about it."
"Figured that'd be the case." The blonde haired boy Armin said.
Eren looked at Armin, puzzled if he was sympathizing with him or not. "What you're going to join everyone else on discouraging me?"
"It is dangerous out there, but I know where you're coming from." Armin said. He didn't look up any of his friends but kept staring off into nothing. "But I'm also curious about those who prefer to stay in here, who believe that the walls will keep us safe forever..."
He paused, then continued. "The walls may not have been broken down in a hundred years, but there is no guarantee that it won't happen today..."
Then, BOOM, out of nowhere, everything shook, a massive shockwave ripped through, knocking the three and everyone else in the district. Signs flailing, roses, and pots crashing to the ground. Every person was caught by surprise.
"What was that?!" Armin asked as he stood himself up.
"Was that an earthquake or something!?" Eren asked as well. He looked around and saw people running and looking straight towards the wall, yelling and saying many things.
"Uhh?" Armin seemed worried.
"We should go take a look." Eren said as Armin jumped straight to it by going where everyone was heading. He ran over and called out, "Armin! What in this world is going on!?" He stopped next to him as so did Mikasa. "Hello?! Can you see something?"
He stopped and then looked upwards to see a cloud of smoke, a big one, coming from the other side of the wall.
Then, a hand, a ginormous hand that lacked skin, grab on to the wall.
Fear settled in. "It can't be!!" Armin said, his eyes wide. "That wall is over 50 meters tall!"
"It's one of them..." Eren said, as a head menacingly peaked over. "A titan."
As the enormous titan stared down at Shiganshina, the silence had already been present besides a few murmuring.
"Impossible!" Armin said in disbelief. "No titan at all should be taller than 15 meters! So how is this one's head sticking out over the wall!?"
Then Eren noticed a different thing going on. "IT'S MOVING!"
The titan lifted its right leg up and then SMASHED it against the gate, sending a cluster of debris flying into the air, shockwaves from the kick, and sending people flying.
Eren and his friends ducked and covered their ears as buildings were crushed; people were squashed by the debris like bugs. The rest who didn't caught stood right back up and noticed the gate, as undoubtedly destroyed.
There was hysteria, people started running and some screamed as they knew what was to come...titans.
But amidst everything, a loud, unexpected roar of anger and spite was heard. It reverberated across Shiganshina, silencing everything.
