The sight was blinding to Chief Drillman. He saw a flash occur, which made his own vision of what he was seeing go completely obscure.
He didn't know how something like this exists in the hands of humans, for sure stuff like this could have maybe been made by the skibidi toilets, scientist toilet could have done it, or maybe the purple lady and her devilish plans. But this was completely different.
The boy, Eren Jaeger, turned into one of those naked giants, a titan from what he heard.
Grisha stared up at him, the expression on his face looked almost different from when before he injected whatever was in that syringe. He almost looked appalled, but of course, who wouldn't when a giant being multiple times your size is going to grab you.
"Run! Get away!" Chief Drillman yelled over to Grisha, who turned his head to look at him. He gestured towards him with his hand to come towards the forest.
"Don't move Chief, just stay!" He replied, although he sounded like he was regretting this. The titan form of Eren reached his arm out and moved it to grab Grisha.
Chief Drillman had to comply, although he was considering one other option, calling in Titan Drillman. He could disrupt and free him from what was once the boy.
He took a step forward, but no, it wasn't possible. It was too late already for him, Eren, well, the titan had already bitten down on Grisha and consumed him.
Blood streamed and sprayed in multiple directions. It was utterly horrifying, geez, poor man, poor father, but he stopped Chief from doing anything, "why?" He would ask himself. But surely there must've been a good reason why he stopped him from intervening and allowing himself to die a gruesome death.
His thoughts stopped there once the titan started acting strange. It started acting very odd, as if becoming more human. Chief stood still from where he was. He saw the titan collapse onto the ground.
Trails of steam rose from the titan's body, Chief was still somewhat shocked from what had happened. But something was supposed to happen now, especially since Grisha told him to look after his son, so he can maybe assume the boy is alive, as himself.
Something began to move around the nape of the titan. It was odd, as if it wanted to escape. It wanted to free itself from its inner grasp. Chief Drillma slowly approached the corpse and stopped at a distance in case this was just a false sense of security.
Squirts of blood came out of the nape, prompting Chief to put his fingers against the side of his head if he needed to call the Drill Titan.
The flesh tore and there, with steam surrounding what came out, Eren Jaeger. He felt relieved, he boy was alive, he's alive, he ran up to the boy, because it would be sage to assume this titan he was in the form of is now dead, awesome.
Chief Drillman used his own head to tear through the flesh, which released the boy, causing him to fall backward onto the body of the decaying titan. Eren was clearly breathing, so he was fine, much or less. There was nothing initially wrong besides some small marks right below the eyes.
Wait a minute, looking back on it, something was wrong. Chief stood up and looked down at the idle boy. His father is gone because he ate him, Eren ate his own father, that grueling scene happened just for this.
What was this all for? Grisha never specified anything before disgustingly being eaten alive. He said he was placing some sort of responsibility to him, only something he could carry, but it wasn't specific. Oh well, guess he would figure out in due time, but now was the important part, getting him to safety. "Alright Eren, wait a minute... where were you even from before you came to forest?"
He heard a mechanical groan, although you could argue it was more like screaming into this receptors which was the Drill Titan communicating to him. "No, Steve, we're not taking him with us, he's got a family."
He looked around and noticed the necklace key laying on the ground, the key that was supposed to be given to Eren. He grabbed it and placed it around his neck. "Surprised that survived."
Titan Drillman let out a loud growl into Chief's receptor, distracting him from Eren. "Steve, I'm a little busy right here, only let me know when it's an emergency." Of course, he was met with an impatient and frustrated growl. "Just be patient." He said to him.
Surprisingly, the titan's body had decayed rather quickly. It was only here just about two minutes ago, only a few pieces of flesh residue, but even then, that was also decaying.
There was this path he could follow. Certainly, if he just kept following it, it would take him back to where maybe Eren came from.
But then another loud, but it sounded more a roar just screaming into Chief Drillman from the earpiece he had. He put his hands against his head and then spoke, "What. Do. You. Want?"
He screamed loud enough into the earpiece of a device that his felt like it could collapse and could feel the vibrations of the ground from the noise he made. "Alright, I hear you!" He responded in an upset tone. The titan then made another noise, a lot more gentle but carrying some sort of haste to it.
Chief listened to the tune of the Drill Titan's mechanical speech, understanding every noise he made. "You're serious, right?" A little worry growing on Chief.
The titan replied with a short and quiet sound that could be interpreted as a simple "yes," he turned to look across the long dirt path that traveled through the forest. It was dark, but there were some faint sounds aside from the unconscious breathing Eren. Well, there was a strike of lightning that he had seen, and of course, the thunder when he transformed, someone would've been guaranteed to have heard it.
Steve may be a little silly or childlike at times, but when it comes to times like this, he would be straight forward and absolutely serious with what it was he troubling. Chief Drillman looked between the boy and down the road, he could pick up some noise from afar, it was faint, with some rapid thumping.
Yeah, it wouldn't be best if he just stood there. He considered taking Eren with him, but maybe whoever it was that's coming would probably take Eren back to safety. So he moved into the forest promptly as Eren's unconscious body laid on the ground.
The corpse of the titan that was there was gone already, nothing left.
The sounds got louder and louder. He shifted himself behind some trees and made sure the ground beneath him did not have some stupid twig that would inconveniently snap.
A man on a horse came into view and and stopped a far distance from Eren's body, most likely having already seen them.
The man looked battered, short brown hair, and eyes that told a story that he probably went through hell. Might as well note that he had some interesting gear on him, he's probably military or some form of authority.
He stared down at the boy, it contemplating about the sight before him.
This man looked like he knew Eren from the way he knelt down and inspected the boy. But perhaps it could've been he was just making he was alright. Chief Drillman stood still, watching the man who had a despondent look on him. He picked up the boy and returned to his horse. He looked back once more, to search for something or someone, and after some time the horses kicked the ground and left.
After Chief Drillman could no longer hear the sound of the hooves stomping and running the ground, he left his hiding spot, stepping straight onto the exact place where Eren was.
He stared down at this spot and then looked down the road. "Now what do we do?" He said to himself, wondering, as the night sky was still dark, hiding everything.
A small groan came from the Drill Titan into Chief's communication device. "Yeah I hear you, and you're probably right, Grisha told us to look after him, he gave us some details, and interesting things to know." He was considering following the road, and lead himself into the depths of human activity. "Also I just realized I still had some questions for him," he received an unhappy groan, "My fault indeed, but there's nothing wrong with doing some investigating."
He checked every direction, knowing it was clear without anyone to see, he walked deep into the trees, he stood still after some walking.
The ground shook, the trees rustled, and the Drill Titan made his small entrance only letting half his body stick out the ground.
"Let's take a small break Steve, tomorrow we will get back to work on finding out about this place, and also as to how we can get back, if that's possible." The Drill Titan nodded in response. He reached into the back of his head, near the neck, and grabbed the pod, setting it on the ground for Chief to access.
