You looked into Sirius's eyes and you could see the massive painful conflict that was going on inside his head. It was his heart against his mind. Watching Remus was just as hard as he had yet a similar conflict with himself.
"Don't you see we have bigger problems than me, right now, Sirius?" - with unconscious Lily still wrapped around your shoulder, you pleaded with the sorcerers "Are you honestly going to make capturing me your priority when there are innocent people dying right now?"
"Then give in" - he frowned.
You paused in disbelief, shifting your glance from one of them to the other. "Fine." - you sighed, gently lowering Lily down to the ground.
You slowly started to yank your wand out of your pocket and slowly stretched it out to them. But when Remus was just about to take it from your hands, you blasted the nearby wall and it crumbled upon them, forcing the pair to run and duck away from it. By the time they could stand up you were gone. As Remus rushed to inspect Lily, Sirius was more concerned about you getting away.
Sirius looked at Lupin "Let James know what happened, I'll be right back"
Lupin nodded as Sirius began to track down your footsteps that were left in the ashes. He followed the possible directions you could of went, tracking you all the way outside the battle-zone, where its gone more quiet. The area was open grass, like an overgrown football field.
He saw no-one. It was pitch black and now he was in a massive field by himself, following the racing sounds of his own heart. He stood still, trying to catch his breath as he glanced from one direction to another.
When he sensed something.
Sirius turned around to see a dark figure standing behind him. It was Tom Riddle.
The dark lord was smirking at Sirius. Tom had his arms resting behind his back. His long, black cloak covered most of his body as his soft, brown curls rested just above one side of his face, almost covering the devious glance he had in his red tinted eyes.
Sirius didn't waste his breath, instantly recognizing a threat "Diffindo!" - a lightning flashed out of his wand but before it could hit Tom, Riddle revealed the wand he held onto, from behind his back, easily blocking the spell.
Tauntingly, Tom shook his head, still smirking "Why such rush?" - with a swift hand movement, Tom diverted his wand back at Sirius "Where are your manners?" - he used an imperio curse to cause Sirius to bow before Riddle against his will. Watching Sirius desperately try to fight against it, Riddle smirked "We must respect the tradition. After all, you are challenging me to a battle"
When Riddle broke off the spell, Sirius collapsed to the grass but immediately caught back his guard, grabbing his wand tightly and lifting himself up "Let's finish" - already almost exhausted, Sirius shouted "Finish what we started in Hogwarts!"
"Expelliarmus!" - the disarm spell came out of soft Sirius's lips
But the dark lord summoned a shield that blocked the spell. Tom looked appalled "Is THIS what the great order can do?" - before forming a large ball of electricity with the tip of his wand, releasing it as Sirius
Black caught the spell with his wand and transformed it into water, twisting it around himself, collecting some liquid from the wet grass that instantly dried down after it was sucked out, and spiraling it until it turned into a massive water wave before directing the attack at Tom
Tom instantly transformed the incoming wave of water into small particles of sand that flew right through him. He was having fun, these spells were a child's play to him. And even though Sirius was strong, Tom was a lot stronger and he was a lot more confident in his abilities. Sirius would never be able to take down the dark lord on his own, but his instincts to protect the greater good drove him deeper into the battle.
Back and forth spells were being thrown from one side to another by the two duelists, flashes of lightning hit and enlightened the sky. Whenever Tom would see Sirius struggle, Tom would amusingly chuckle at his pain.
From the corner of his eye Sirius noticed a snake coming towards him - it was Nagini. But at the same time he had locked spells with Riddle himself, who looked very confident he would win.
Toms' soft curls were being carried in the wind as he watched Black struggle to balance his spell and at the same time keep an eye on the creature that was about to slither and wound him.
Black swiftly diverted the locked spells at the nearest tree before rushing back and jumping away from the snake that was just about to bite him. In time, Sirius dodged the reptile, got up and screamed "Bombarda!"
Nagini took the hit that blasted herself into the air and away from the duo, but the snake quickly recovered.
It took Sirius a second to realize what was happening - the reptile was acting as a distraction.
Sirius widened his eyes at the sight of a bright, green flash dash towards him. The pupils in his eyes were reflecting the Avada Kedavra spell.
"NO!!" - you noticed the spell dash towards Sirius and for the sake of protection, without thinking, you used the apparition spell to teleport right in front of him.
Taking the full blow of the deadly spell.
And when the green, bright flash escalated from the sight, Tom and Sirius were standing there, looking at your body collapsed on the floor.
"NO!!" - Sirius screamed as he desperately rushed to inspect you. "NO! NO!" - he was checking your pulse but he could not sense it. Your skin had already turned pale as all the pumping blood inside your body was now lost. Sitting on the dirty grass, Sirius held onto your lifeless body dearly, his eyes were overflowing with tears as he was shrieking out the words "No!" He gently and slowly closed your eyelids with his shaking fingertips.
You gave up your life to save him.
Not too far from Sirius, Tom was standing still. Shocked. For the first time there was nothing but surprise written all over his face. However, it was a lot more sorrowful. Pain and hurt was reflected in his eyes, he didn't want nor expect this to happen. His eye was starting to glitter from the affliction. He knew he killed the one he was starting to love.
Sirius looked up at Tom who'd had been unable to accept what just happened. And just before it looked like the battle was about to start again - Tom teleported away.
Leaving Black on the ground crying as he was desperately clenching onto your body "Come back to me.." - Sirius yelped in between sniffs

It was bright around you. Very bright. You woke up in a strange place. It was a small, white hut. But it was crystal clear white. Everything was pure, pure white. Not a single stain anywhere.
Was this the afterlife?
"Y/n" - you heard a mans' voice coming from one of the rooms.
When you slowly approached the door and swung it open, you saw Albus Dumbledore inside one of the chambers.
"Dumbledore?" - you stepped into the room. He looked happy to see you. This was the Albus you spoke to right in the beginning, before the time travel "Where am I? Am I dead?"
"Yes." - he said "But it's not over yet, "
"What?" - your heart was racing "I don't understand..."
"The mission must have been tough for you." - he said "I assume nothing has changed"
You shook your head "No."
"So Voldemort has gone down the same path?"
"Yes.."
"Shame."
"I'm sorry.. I am so sorry, professor."
"For what?" - Albus looked confused "That you tried?" - he smiled "Nobody said you failed, ."
"But nothing has changed.."
Albus stepped closer to you, giving you a slight smirk "Ah. But so you think." - he paused "Indeed at this very moment I am afraid you are not breathing. But this might have some sort of an affect on the dark lord himself and his actions. Might make him more cruel, might not. Your death has been very painful to him, even if it's harder to see." - he smiled "Which means you already did play a large part at changing the future and I couldn't be more proud of you, "
"That's nice to hear, but I can't help but think I am only imagining all this. Regardless.. What happens now?"
"It's your choice. You might of missed a small detail you have in possession"
"...What?" - you felt confused "What do you mean?"
"I mean this is completely up to you if you choose to continue or let it go." - he suddenly faced the exit of the room "This is your parents home, isn't it?"
"Is it?" - you wondered, looking around
"After all, you picked the place" - he smirked before heading out the door, completely disappearing into the the bright ray of the light.
As you watched him leave you were still asking him "What do I do??" - but to no answer.
You didn't want to die.
When the next beam of light absorbed you, you found yourself awake.
Without lifting up your head, you noticed some figures stand away from you.
You stood up, harshly. To your aghast, you were back in the real world, watching Molly, Arthur, Lily, James, Remus and Sirius all talk between each other until wounded Lily suddenly locked eyes with you. Her eyes flashed the most joy as her heavy smile reflected your shock "!!!!"
As she sprinted towards you, you locked eyes with the rest of them, and more elated than ever, Molly and Sirius ran at you as well. Soon enough, you were embraced by the three closest friends you ever had.
"You died!" - Sirius gripped onto you tightly for a solid minute before letting go "How are you breathing?!"
You felt a small bulge inside one of your pockets. When you put your hand inside to inspect it, you took out a very peculiar looking stone. The Resurrection stone.
"Where did you get this??" - Molly looked shocked
"I-I don't know..." - you felt even more puzzled than ever. Who gave this to you and when? certainly not Tom as he would of never given such a priced possession.
"Well it doesn't matter." - Lily interrupted, wiping off some of her tears "You're here."
"What about.. Azkaban?"
"They'll just have to deal with me before they'd get to you this time" - Lily smirked
"And me" - Molly added
"And me" - Sirius intervened. There was a very short pause as he gazed deeply into your eyes "You saved my life. Thank you."
The sky was clear now - the dark mark was gone and there were no more distant screams nor blasts. The dark lord had called off the attack.
