"Sybil!" - you yelled at her "You must get out of here before he catches you!"
"I want to set you free" - she replied in a weak voice, as if almost whimpering
"He'll be back soon, I know what he wants and you will not die for it"
"B-but"
"Just leave, I'll be fine" - you gave her a warm smile, the warmest yet fakest one you could let out
She naively took your confidence. However, within, she was unsure whether to trust your words. Even though in doubt, she rushed out of the cell, leaving you completely alone.
Left in the chamber, you deeply inhaled. The bitterness of the news suddenly clouded your mind, forming a heavy storm of sour thoughts inside your head. You clenched your fists as the  chains wrapped around your wrists tightened; and just yelled, letting it all out through your voice. Harsh thoughts traveled through your brain and escaped through your mouth in one, continues, loud sound. A scream of miserable wrath.
This whole mission had not been going well. At this moment the mission no longer even existed. You were there to survive and change things that you could change.
When you were so far gone... would you give up now. Go for a simple life, maybe among the muggles? Such head aching thoughts sent strong signals through your brain that you could even start hearing ringing in your ears.
At such a time when everything's gone wrong it was hard to go on.
You were isolated with the overflowing sound of your own agony inside your own mind like a mental prisoner.
---
Outside Mortier's hideout - a stone mansion that was hidden from muggles which hid its own dungeons, Mortier's followers were patrolling the area for the chilling night.
Cold weather, it was dead quiet. Nothing felt alive except for the gently breezing wind that formed an uncanny ambiance. It's as if it was too silent, too peaceful.
The ears of the patrolling wizards strained as they tried to listen to what their eyes couldn't capture. Their senses rose, strands of hair lifting on their arms.
When a quick flash of green lightning suddenly darted once at the top of the sky. A huge pile of grey clouds and eerie mist embraced the objects and bodies down below. The illuminating stars were suddenly concealed as the whole yard grew darker than before.  Such a strange, unexplainable turn of weather captivated everyone's attention.
And suddenly another bright green beam followed that evolved into something more than a simple light - a mark appeared at the top of the sky. His mark.
Mortier's army instantly knew what this meant - the dark lord had found them.
None of the followers expected a sight of Voldemort himself. They thought that the lord would not be so silly as to send his whole army to attack a fortress filled with enemy. Such effort could go in vain.
But they were wrong.
They kept something inside he wanted back.
The quietness quickly turned into laughter. Loud and obnoxious chortling coming from a woman.
One of Mortier's followers faces turned bright pale, his lips parted, his eyes wide in shock as he watched a bushy haired woman smirk with playful disgust as she unexpectedly slit his throat with her wand. With her two arms half way into the air after she watched her victim fall dead through one of the fallen hair strands on her eyes, she smirked at the opposing, standing frozen figures.
When woosh - a whole army of black figures flew in above her shoulders, bringing a whole storm down with them
Flashes of death and destruction rocked back and forth. Shrieks of pain echoed from one soul to other as people were using magic to butcher without mercy - a complete massacre.
No matter if the hearts were caged by fear, human had to turn against human, wizard against wizard, at a demand of crucial orders. They are not to reason why - but to do and die.
Some of Mortier's followers crawled in the mud, blood dripping over their faces as they tried to rush away from their attackers. While Mortier's army was strong, it did not match the strength and an inhuman desire to murder of death eaters.
Psychotic ways of ruling were in the hands of two of the most dangerous leading wizards whom already cost lives of countless. And this war, unlike many, was battled for beyond power.
Insane versus insane fell worse when dark wizards battled their rivalry in most crucial methods. Dolohov and Lestrange had mostly been using cruciatus curses before killing their prey. The dark lord even sent out an army of dementors and giants that fought along his side. Seeing as though most of Mortier's army could not cast a patronus, a handful of souls had been unforgivably sucked out and the miserable became despaired.
Among the chaotic battle, Riddle landed on the ground and walked a pathway between his fearlessly battling the enemy army. He moved forwards to the entrance, approaching the mansion in no rush. A few figures were bold enough to attack him, but Riddle, with one, quick hand movement disarmed and killed anyone who got in the way.
Nagini, by his side, had slithered closely, guarding Riddle. Tom looked completely not-bothered by the blasting battle going on around him. With full confidence of his safety, he laid his arms behind his back once he was approaching the manor. The people who'd be brave enough to attack him - Riddle wouldn't even look at. He'd single handed-ly would butcher them without conscious using the killing curse.
His eyes locked with the figure standing on the roof of the mansion - Mortier. Riddle quickly levitated off the ground and flew to the top of the building, large mass of black smoke following his trail. Once he landed in front of Mortier, Riddle appeared back in his full form, boldly standing eye to eye with his enemy.
"Came such late at night, ya fool" - Mortier stated "What do I have such honor for?"
Riddle smoothly folded his arms behind his back again, stating out bluntly "I think you know."
"Do I?" -  his enemy tauntingly grinned
Tom maintained his composure "You have something of mine." - his icy gaze pierced into the older man's eyes "I'd like to claim it back"
"By 'It' I assume you're speaking of the girl?" - Mortier watched Riddle drop silent "I see... Not going to happen. The girl shall rot where she belongs"
Tom could see his enemy speak yet he hardly paid any serious attention. Riddle intervened in between his foe's speech, making him halt. "Your silly dreams for power are no match for the one I own. Give me what I require" - with a higher, angrier pitch of voice, Riddle's face stiffened with bitterness as he began to taunt Mortier "And I will let you live"
"Fool." - Mortier grunted, grinding his teeth together "You underestimate me." - he pulled out his wand from his pocket and aimed it at Riddle, transitioning into a fighting stance.
Riddle let out an unsurprising sigh, unamused by the movement, not even a flash of fear pierced through him. Tom was stone cold as always "You will die tonight." - he replied, cruelly gazing into Mortier's now alarmed, disappearing grin.
