                    Ophelia's Perspective:
Liliana patted my shoulder, seemingly wanting to comfort me this way. She didn't say much, only gently said: "We're a bit tired tonight. Let's not talk about this. Tomorrow I'll go to the company with you, and you can tell me more about the situation then."
I nodded.
"No problem."
Seeing I had no intention of continuing this deep conversation, Liliana smoothly changed the subject, "By the way, I found a nanny for you before. I already sent her a message, and she'll report for duty tomorrow. This nanny was transferred from my household—she's first-rate at both cooking and taking care of children."
"Mm, thank you." I responded gratefully. Liliana was always so thoughtful, even considering these trivial matters for me in advance.
She looked at me, saw I wasn't in the mood to continue chatting, and didn't say anything more, leaving soon after.
After seeing off my good friend, I went upstairs to find the two children. As soon as I entered the room, "Mason" immediately turned around and obediently called out: "Mommy."
"Sophia" didn't speak, only looked at me with those clear bright eyes, her gaze carrying some expectation.
I crouched down and gently asked: "Sophia, is your throat still not better? Still can't speak?"
She didn't answer directly. "Mason" spoke for her: "Not yet."
My heart tightened, and I gently pulled "Sophia" into my arms, softly coaxing her: "Tell Mommy, are you really not uncomfortable at all?"
The little girl shook her head, looking somewhat aggrieved. Her helpless little appearance made my heart worry even more.
"Then how did this suddenly happen?"
I asked somewhat puzzledly. The food she ate today was fine too, so how could this suddenly happen?
Just then, "Mason" stepped forward, as if he had looked up some information online, saying nervously: "Mommy, I just checked online. It says some children can develop sudden intermittent mutism due to environmental factors."
Although he wasn't the type of child to lie, when he said this, I saw his palms were slightly sweaty, obviously nervous. But since he had said it, I didn't pursue the matter further.
Hearing this, I felt it seemed somewhat reasonable, and the worry in my heart lessened a little. After all, children's physical conditions could indeed be affected by many external factors.
However, as a mother, the worry in my heart still hadn't completely disappeared. I decided to wait and see tomorrow whether it was really as "Mason" had said.
After a moment of silence, I picked up "Sophia" and gently patted her back: "Good baby, rest early. Tomorrow Mommy will take you to see a doctor, okay?"
Just as I was about to put her down, "Mason" suddenly grabbed the hem of my clothes and said softly: "Mommy, tonight... can I sleep with Mommy?"
The little guy was somewhat shy when he said this.
