I was slightly surprised. My precious son rarely acted spoiled like this. I guessed it might be because of the new environment that he was acting this way, and my heart nearly melted. Immediately, I said: "Of course you can. After Mason finishes his bath, come find Mommy, okay?"
"Okay!"
"Mason's" eyes immediately lit up, visibly becoming happy.
Later that evening, both little ones had finished bathing and were lying on my bed, wearing cute cartoon pajamas, looking incredibly soft and adorable. Looking at them, my heart melted completely. I gently leaned over and kissed each child on the forehead, smiling as I said: "Good night, babies."
Both little ones' faces turned rosy, obviously delighted by my kisses and good night wishes. Mommy... kissed us and said good night. Mommy smells so nice...
They looked at each other and saw joy in each other's eyes. "Mason" smiled with pursed lips and said softly: "Good night, Mommy."
After I got into bed, both of them desperately snuggled against me, being incredibly well-behaved. I dotingly embraced them both, one on each side, feeling their warm body temperature and feeling completely comforted.
The next morning, just as I woke up, the nanny Liliana had found for me—Mary—arrived.
She greeted me, and when she saw the two children, she couldn't help but praise: "Miss Grimwald, these two children of yours are really beautiful and so cute."
"Mason" got up and politely greeted: "Hello, Aunt Mary."
"Sophia" also bowed vigorously, appearing somewhat reserved but well-behaved.
After breakfast, I instructed the two children: "You two behave at home. If anything happens, call Mommy... Today Mommy has to report to the company. You must not cause any trouble, listen to Aunt Mary obediently, and don't run around. Do you hear me?"
"Mason" seemed somewhat reluctant. He hadn't spent enough time with Mommy yet, but still immediately replied: "Okay Mommy, we'll be sensible and won't cause trouble."
I was somewhat doubtful in my heart—these two were always restless. But since Liliana had come to pick me up, I could only instruct Mary to keep a closer eye on them before getting up to leave.
In the morning, I briefly familiarized myself with the branch company's structure, met several company executives, then returned to the office with Liliana.
"I'm still more suited to working behind the scenes..." I let out a long sigh, feeling somewhat mentally exhausted.
Dealing with people was indeed more difficult than researching perfumes.
Liliana laughed unkindly: "The great Ophelia is actually socially awkward?"
I pursed my lips, feeling somewhat helpless: "I just don't like socializing."
Liliana smiled, then continued: "What's the difference? Anyway, with your situation, you'll need to change this in the future. This business expansion in America will require you to show up at many occasions."
When she said this, I straightened up and sat more properly, "Tell me about the current situation in America."
Liliana nodded and began getting to the point: "You're the product developer for ZELING. This time, several top American companies are interested in cooperating with us, including the five major families."
She paused, her gaze turning to me as if wanting to observe my reaction, "Including the Evermere Family Group..."
I was particularly sensitive to the words "Evermere Family" and immediately frowned, "I won't consider the Evermere Family Group."
Liliana nodded, "I know, so I declined from the beginning. The other four families are also very good, especially the Grant family, who are very sincere."
"Their Mr. Grant, Harrison Grant, is no weaker than Magnus in terms of capability."
She continued: "When he heard you were coming back, he sincerely invited you to attend a business banquet they're hosting, tonight."
"I think for ZELING, this is a great opportunity to build connections in America."
Before returning to the country, I had already done relevant homework about America. Since Liliana was saying this, I naturally wouldn't decline, "Then I'll make the trip!"
"Good, then I'll have someone prepare an evening gown for you to attend tonight." Liliana took out her phone, planning to notify her assistant to custom-order a gown.
"My ex-husband... shouldn't be going, right?" I asked uncertainly.
Yesterday I almost ran into Magnus, and his image still lingered in my mind. Actually, I didn't want to encounter that man again...
Liliana's fingers paused, she looked up and thought for a moment before saying: "He probably won't."
"After all, the Grant and Evermere families have business competition and their relationship isn't that good."
Hearing this, I finally felt somewhat relieved.

After getting up, Magnus had breakfast with the two children.
The dining table was particularly quiet, with no one speaking.
At this moment, the butler came to report, "Young master, the madam and Miss Helena are here."
After Magnus heard this, before he could respond, footsteps could be heard from the main entrance.
